Truth vs Love
from Cyril Guerette — Sermons & Teaching
The Groundswell Church, AS THE WIND BLOWS 2021 · Ephesians 4 “One of the most dangerous things that can happen is when the church speaks the truth was just that edge of anger and hatred in its voice. … Is it actually done in love? Now, I do believe Jesus uses his own prophets and we'll talk a little bit about how he does things. But I do want to say we have to be really careful that we speak the truth in love. Now, being the truth in love, by the way, isn't just saying truthful things really nicely. Be really nice all the time. I don't believe that that's what speaking truth in love means. Sometimes speaking truth in love is going to be a hard word. It's actually going to be conflict. That's something I think I've had to grow with in my life is like sometimes conflict happens and avoiding it isn't speaking the truth in love. … Yes, but doesn't mean that you don't stand up and speak truth.” Passage: Ephesians 4:15 Read the post: https://www.cyrilguerette.com/sermon-blog/2021-08-01-truth-vs-love After the success of our summer series last year, As the Wind Blows returns! For most of the year we work through themed sermon series or specific sections of Scripture. This summer we are taking the opportunity to speak week by week on the topics that have been placed on our hearts by the Holy Spirit. Each week will be a one-off type sermon not necessarily connect to the one before, but linked together by a willingness to be open to what the Spirit is saying to our church in the here and now. We look forward to allowing God to guide and prepare us for a new ministry year this Fall. We firmly believe that God speaks to all members of the Body of Christ, and has gifted several voices to speak truth to our community. We will hear what God has put on the heart of a number of key leaders in our spiritual family. Let’s prepare our hearts for what God wants to say to us through them. The hope is for heartfelt interaction with the truth of scripture in the lives of our own leaders, and to allow the Spirit to guide us into a new ministry year this Fall.
