Trying $4 Frozen Coffee Pods in a Heat Wave + 4th of July Plans | CB Sip & Share
from Coffee Beanery | Sip & Share
t’s Wednesday, it’s a heat wave, and Laurie, Patti, and Britain are back for Coffee Beanery Sip and Share! We kick things off talking about the brutal humidity, cancelled soccer, cooling the warehouse, and our favorite small-town Fourth of July traditions (pancake breakfast, parade, and friends from out of town finally coming back after 15 years). Teddy the pug is turning 14 this weekend too! Then we dive into something new: flash-frozen concentrated coffee pods from a company that calls itself a technology company (not a coffee company). These little liquid-nitrogen-frozen pods are about $4 a cup. We melted and tasted several: • Frozen Gold – light roast with notes of orange, maple syrup & milk chocolate • Proud Mary – natural Brazil (chocolate, fudge, caramel, date) • Geisha – bright, floral & acidic • A Colombian that… did not go well Some were surprisingly good, one was way too bright, and one was just plain rancid. Fun experiment, but probably not replacing our regular coffee anytime soon. Also in this episode: last month’s Fly Me to the Moon flavors flying off the shelves, creamer shelf-life mysteries, dehydrators, public-domain ideas for future boxes, and a color analysis appointment right after the live. Stay cool out there, happy early 4th of July, and let us know if you’ve ever tried fancy frozen coffee! #CoffeeBeanery #SipAndShare #FrozenCoffee #HeatWave #FourthOfJuly #CoffeeTasteTest
