Trying to Do It All as a Mom? Why Ditching ‘Should’ Matter More Than Perfection | Christi Gmyr | S8 E21

from Imperfect Mommying: Better Parenting through Self-Healing with Alysia Lyons · host Lyons Heart Healing

Feeling stretched thin, stuck in guilt, and trying to do it ALL? You’re not alone. In this episode of Imperfect Mommying, I welcome Christy Gamir—a therapist turned mom coach—who shares her personal and professional journey through burnout, working motherhood, and what it really takes to release the pressure of being “perfect.”We dive into the emotional weight moms carry, from unrealistic expectations to lost community support, and how shifting our mindset (especially dropping the word should) can change everything. Whether you're juggling a demanding career, managing motherhood solo, or simply feeling overwhelmed by it all—this conversation offers real talk, relief, and practical tools.Christi is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York State, a National Certified Counselor and a Coach for Moms. She is a mom of two kids who are 8 and 4 years old. Christi has worked in community mental health settings for nearly 10 years in therapist and management positions before opening a private therapy practice. After the birth of her first child, Christi learned just how hard it was to juggle the challenges of parenthood with a demanding career. This was exacerbated when her second child was born, bringing about it's own unique set of difficulties. Since then, Christi has transitioned into coaching where she uses what she learned through personal experience and her work as a therapist to help other stressed out moms with demanding careers to overcome burnout so they can feel more connected to their spouse and kids without guilt and resentment Christi currently resides in Syracuse, NY with her husband and two children. When she's not working or driving her kids to their many activities, she enjoys spending time with friends, being outside and watching Survivor with her husband.Connect with Christi: 🔗 Find Christy at: www.christigmyrcoaching.comFacebook: Christi Gmyr Coaching🧡 Join her community: Thrive As a Career-Driven Mom - https://www.facebook.com/groups/careerdrivenmomsInstagram: @career_driven_moms✨ ABOUT ME:I'm Alysia Lyons, a certified life coach helping moms release guilt and overwhelm, reconnect with their intuition, and parent from a place of peace.🌐 Learn more: https://alysialyons.com📲 Want support in releasing guilt & overwhelm?: https://alysialyons.com/align🔔 Don’t forget to LIKE, SUBSCRIBE, and click the BELL 🔔 so you never miss an episode of Imperfect Mommying!#momcoaching #momsupport #workingmomlife #singlemomsupport #overwhelmedmom #HealingForMoms #ImperfectMomming #YouDeservePeace #NoMoreMomGuilt #motherhoodunfiltered 💛 Keywords:mom burnout help, how to do it all as a mom, overwhelmed mom support, mindset coaching for moms, parenting tips for single moms, how to ask for help as a mom, mom guilt and peace, emotional support for mothers, how to stop trying to do it all, practical self-care for moms, building a mom support system, time management tips for moms, single mom
