Tshwane allocates over R2bn for water and power upgrades
from Kaya 959 · host Phemelo Motene
The City of Tshwane has earmarked more than R2 billion to upgrade water and electricity infrastructure, with a focus on long-struggling areas like Hammanskraal. Executive Mayor Dr Nasiphi Moya says new pump stations are among the key interventions aimed at stabilising supply. The metro also plans to phase out privately operated water tankers after spending over R600 million on them last year, amid criticism that they failed to provide a lasting solution to residents. Phemelo speaks to Tshwane MMC for Utility Services, Frans Boshielo. Kayafm
