Germany’s Florian Mayer won his first career ATP title when he beat Pablo Andujar in Bucharest, and Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez won the Hansol Korea Open after she edged Galina Voskoboeva 7-6 , 7-6. Chanelle Scheepers was the final winner of the weekend, as she won the Guangzhou International Women’s Open, her first career title. Finally, former top five players and 2007 US Open semifinalist, Anna Chakvetadze, has been nominated for a spot in Russia’s parliament.
