Tswaing Local Municipality fails to pay over deductions made from workers' salaries

SAfm — Workers at the Tswaing Local Municipality in the North West who are affiliated to trade union SAMWU have emabrked on a protest action. They are raising concern about the municipality's failure to pay statutory deductions of their employees. According to the union over 8 000 of their members have been affected. Some workers say they have been warned that their policies will lapse due to non-payment of premiums. Tswaing is one of eight municipalities that have been placed under administration by the provincial government. Zebilon Maine reports.
