TTIM 74 – Gordon Laing “In Camera”

from The Traveling Image Makers

Our guest of this week’s episode of the podcast is traveler, photographer, master equipment reviewer, food and coffee lover, and just super nice guy, Gordon Laing of Cameralabs fame. The number one reason why we wanted Gordon on the show is to talk about his latest book, In Camera. The book was released some time ago, but we only had it in our hands for a few days, as it took a really long time to reach us. First of all, let’s just say that we’re really loving it, since it’s a collection of very fine images, each one accompanied by the details of how Gordon made the shot, camera settings and a precious tip.The book is not just one hundred beautiful photos put together, but also an illustration of Gordon’s approach to photography, which is hinted at by the title, “In Camera”, and is all about the art of JPEG photography with no post-processing.Aside from the book, we chatted about Gordon’s habits as a traveler, recent trends in camera design, the opportunity of taking “postcard” shots, and much more. All these topics, together with Gordon’s talkative spirit, made for an episode that is a bit longer than usual, but it was so much fun for us to record it and we are sure you will love listening to it.Duration 56m 08s.Music for this episode: “Zanzibar” Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com) Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/Links* In Camera* Cameralabs* Instagram* Twitter* Mysteries of Mexico’s Copper Canyon Hosted on Acast.
