Tubby Smith Enters Basketball Hall of Fame | Georgia Bulldogs Football News

Tubby Smith, the legendary coach whose career spanned seven schools and left an indelible mark on college basketball, is set to be enshrined in the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame this October. From his explosive start with Georgia — including a Sweet 16 run and a stunning upset of top-seed Purdue — to his historic first national championship at Kentucky, Smith’s 31-year journey is defined by deep tournament runs and transformative leadership. As one of only four coaches to take five different programs to the NCAA Tournament, his induction alongside icons like Jay Wright and Danny Ainge cements his status among the game’s all-time greats. The ceremony on October 22 in Kansas City will honor a career that reshaped college hoops — one unforgettable win, mentorship, and legacy at a time.
