TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF. The early Christian community was described in these terms: "the whole group of believers was united, heart and soul; no one claimed for his own use anything that he had, as everything they owned was held in common" cf. Acts 4:32). Can today Christian community be described in similar terms? Are we not seeing high-level division and hatred? Are we bearing witness to this Christian unity built in the Holy Spirit at the family level and at the level of small Christian community/small Christian units? Are we not deeply divided by canal and mundane things as transient as they may be rather than being truly united in the Holy Spirit? The unity of the early Christian community gave rise to the mighty works and great miracles that characterised their Christian living and witnessing. Instead of chasing after miracles, canal and mundane things, let's build ourselves up in true love and the unity of the Holy Spirit and much more than what we desire will come chasing after us.
