Tue. June 29th, 2021 Homily by FadaPeterBenson: THE POWER OF CHRISTIAN UNITY IN CHRISTIAN WITNESSING

THE HEART OF TODAY'S HOMILY. From the beginning of its existence THE POWER OR HUB OF CHRISTIAN WITNESSING HAS ALWAYS BEEN CHRISTIAN UNITY. The name CHRISTIAN was given to the early followers of Jesus Christ in Antioch following their UNITY (cf. Acts 11:26). We may produce great men of God from our families. We may build the greatest edifices as churches today. We may work the greatest miracles ever in human history. We may have the largest crowds during church programs. We may be able to afford/acquire the best luxurious cars and most expensive private jets. None of these in themselves can increase the influence Christianity wields on the human society. They may gain us (as christian figures) followership and not necessarily followership for Jesus Christ. THE POWER OF OUR CHRISTIAN WITNESSING STILL LIES IN GENUINE CHRISTIAN UNITY; A CHRISTIAN VALUE THAT IS SERIOUSLY LACKING IN OUR ERA. May God grant us true and lasting unity built genuine Christian love in our homes/families, in our churches, in our workplaces, in our communities and among Christians of all denominations that our Christian witnessing may transform the human society and win more souls for God.
