Today in History: King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon came with his whole army and began the siege against Jerusalem (see2 Kings 25:1). Fast of Tevet (Asara BeTevet) is a shorter fast on the Jewish calendar and lasts from sunrise to sunset. It is one of four similar fast days mentioned in the Prophets (see Zechariah 8:19).
