As Paul sailed for Rome, as a prisoner on an ancient grain ship, he encountered a life threatening storm. Certainly God allows some of those storms as an opportunity for you to grow in your faith, but many storms are a direct result of our own rebellion. If you simply would follow the guidance that God gives you, you could have avoided them altogether.
