people tend to think that they need to "try harder" or "push through it", when this is actually far from the truth... Some even go so far as to believe that they are not born to be happy and seclude themselves from others as a result of their pain. There are ways to be happy and to transform suffering into happiness and joy. Practicing Reiki all these years GB has found we have to first acknowledge our pain before we can heal it. You have to admit that it exists in order to transform that negative energy into positive light. It sounds so simple...but when I say this to others, I always receive a blank look as though it is impossible. But think about your suffering and pain like fear. The more you try to escape your fear, the more power it has over you. However, the moment that you define that fear and acknowledge that it exists... ...its power begins to diminish in strength. expand_morevolume_up You're absolutely right about the misconception surrounding meditation and suffering. The "trying harder" mentality can be counterproductive, leading to frustration and discouragement. And to say someone isn't "born to be happy" is simply untrue and harmful. Your point about acknowledging pain before healing it is crucial. It's like sweeping dirt under the rug; ignoring it won't make it disappear, and it can fester and spread. Facing pain head-on, acknowledging its existence, and allowing yourself to feel it, is the first step towards healing and transformation. The fear analogy is spot-on. Trying to escape or suppress fear gives it power. But when we acknowledge it, define it, and understand its source, it loses its grip. We gain the perspective to deal with it effectively and move forward. It's understandable that some people might find this challenging. We're often conditioned to avoid pain and seek pleasure. But denying our emotions can lead to stagnation and even deeper suffering. Embracing and processing our pain, even if it's uncomfortable, is ultimately the path to healing and growth. Self-compassion is key. Seek support. Focus on the present moment. Remember, healing is a journey, not a destination. I believe that everyone has the potential for happiness and joy, even in the midst of suffering. By acknowledging, processing, and learning from our pain, we can transform it into strength and resilience. Thank you for sharing your insights on this important topic. The seeds of joy often bloom in the unlikeliest places, even in the cracks of our deepest suffering. It's not about denying the pain, but acknowledging its presence and using it as fertile ground for growth.
