Evelyn LaTorre ‘s first book, Between Inca Walls, A Peace Corps Memoir, won several awards and is about her adventures growing up in Montana, volunteering in Mexico, and coming of age in Peru, where she met her husband of 57 years.He second book is called Love in any Language, A Memoir of a Cross-Cultural Marriage. She holds a doctorate in multicultural education from the University of San Francisco and a master’s degree in social welfare from UC Berkeley. She worked as a bilingual school psychologist and school administrator for 32 years in public education in California until her retirement in 2002.
