Turning the Page on Covid (Coronavirus and Our Mental Health)

from ThinkTech Hawaii · host Jay Fidell

The Joy of Books.  The host for this show is Ken Burtness.  The guest is Mary Burtness.   For two and a half years Coronavirus has demanded peoples’ attention, kept people mired in negative thoughts, ideas, and stories. Regular pastimes and joys have been neglected or forgotten. And yet some people found this difficult period an opportunity to reconnect with friends and family. Many found virtual book clubs and book sharing as a way to talk to old and new friends. Many libraries may have had to shut their doors, but they did not have to shut their books. Safe pick-up and return procedures allowed library circulation to keep flowing and people to keep reading. Words and friends are critical helpers during dark times.
