TUS Clare SHC Round 1 Reaction - Inagh Kilnamona & Cratloe

Inagh Kilnamona hurling manager Eugene Cullinan is praising his side's mental toughness as they shot to the top of Group 1 in the TUS Clare Senior Hurling Championship. An impressive showing saw them dispatch Ballyea 0-29 to 0-19 in Zimmer Biomet Páirc Chiosóg. Aidan McCarthy, David Fitzgerald alongside Fred and James Hegarty starred for the Combo, while Éamonn Foudy saved a second half penalty from Tony Kelly. Cullinan says the save provided a much needed lift to help them see out the result. In Group 4, Cratloe and Clooney Quin played out the sole draw of the opening round of action. Rian Considine thought he had given Cratloe the two points when he hit the net early in second half stoppage time, however, last year's beaten county finalists fought back with two late points to share the spoils. Clare's Diarmuid Ryan says they're pleased with the result, having trailed by four at the break.
