The Human Rights Campaign recently released it's 2014 Municipal Equality Index (MEI), the "only nationwide rating system of LGBT inclusion in municipal law and policy". The group rated Tuscaloosa as having a 3 out of 100. The national average is a 59, while the Alabama average is a 9.
