Tutorial: DIY/Cheap "Rotoscope" Animation Method

I've always loved rotoscope animation—movies like A Scanner Darkly, Waking Life and Amazon's Undone TV series. Not only do I love the style but I believe it opens up possibilities creatively. And because of that, I always wanted to create my own movie using the style. But I didn't have the money to do so.
