from The Pop Break · host Alex Marcus

Welcome to TV Break, where Pop Break’s Podcasts Editor Alex Marcus is joined by editor-in-chief Bill Bodkin, and TV Columnist Josh Sarnecky to talk about the happenings in television. Here’s the format of the show: The Best Thing I Saw on TV Last Month – Alex, Bill, & Josh talk about a show/episode/event they liked from the last month including ABC’s Abbott Elementary, HBO’s True Detective: Night Country, and Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender.  News Break – Alex, Bill, and Josh react to the news that DIsney, WBD, and Fox will launch a sports-themed MPVD service by the end of the year. Streaming Wars – Alex, Bill, & Josh pick a streamer they think “won the month” based on new shows airing/upcoming shows announced etc. Bill & Alex both gave the month to Netflix after Griselda became a smash hit, Avatar: The Last Airbender and Tyler Perry’s Mea Culpa dominated the online discourse, and they successfully hosted the SAG awards. Meanwhile, Josh gave it to Amazon Prime Video, thanks to their securing an exclusive NFL Playoff game, launching the Jennifer Lopez This Is Me…Now extravaganza, and hyping the upcoming premieres of Invincible and Road House. New Series Spotlight – Alex, Bill, & Josh review Shogun, FX’s adaptation of the acclaimed novel by James Clavell. The series was created by Rachel Kondo and Justin Marks and stars Hiroyuki Sanada & Cosmo Jarvis.
