Twelve Days: A Christmas Massacre Aboard the Roanoke Colony Ship

David Lambert wakes alone aboard the colony ship Roanoke, ten years into a voyage toward LV-529. His company is the ship’s virtual intelligence, Vinnie, and thousands of sleeping passengers. Mike Ashkewe’s “Twelve Days” unfolds through recovered audio logs beginning December 12, 2290, as maintenance problems, unexplained movement and a secret experiment turn Christmas in deep space into a nightmare. This science-fiction horror story mixes isolation, dangerous technology and holiday music that grows harder to welcome. What is awake aboard the Roanoke—and how much does Vinnie know?
