Twenty Years Without Steve Irwin
from Taylor Tailored Hosted by Taylor Tailored
Steve Irwin’s Children Mark Exactly 20 Years Since His Death With Heartbreaking Tributes Exactly 20 years after Steve Irwin was killed in a freak encounter with a stingray, his children have marked the anniversary with deeply personal tributes to the father they lost when they were still young. Bindi and Robert Irwin used the milestone not simply to remember the world-famous Crocodile Hunter, but to show how profoundly his presence still shapes their family two decades after his death. Steve died on September 4, 2006, aged 44, after being struck in the chest by a stingray barb while snorkelling off Port Douglas in northern Queensland during filming. Bindi was eight years old. Robert was just two. Twenty years later, both have built lives around the wildlife mission their father began — making this anniversary as much about what survived Steve as about what was lost with him.
