Twilight (2008)
from Sequelcast 2 and Friends Hosted by Mat Bradley-Tschirgi
Hosts Mat Bradley-Tschirgi and Thrasher, and Alex Miller discuss Twilight, the first film in the Twilight Saga. Starring Anna Kendrick, Taylor Lautner, Robert Pattinson, and Kristen Stewart. A sulking teenager plays a game of vampire baseball. Already a best-selling series of books by the time the first film came out, Twilight seemed destined to be a bit. Its PG-13 tween romance take on high school life, vampires, and werewolves has lyrical moments (chilling in trees, sparkling in a field) and better than expected acting amongst its tepid narrative thrust of a romance. Stewart's skittish character moments make the whole thing work. Sequelcast 2 and Friends is part of the Tokyo Beat Network.
