Twin Lakes, twin lawsuits
from Up North Lowdown
Ownership over a Grand Traverse County park has local residents worried about its future. Also, Ludacris cancels his performance at the Cherry Festival sighting “an unforeseen scheduling conflict.”
What this episode covers
Ownership of Twin Lakes Park, just west of Traverse City, was recently transferred from Grand Traverse County to Long Lake Township. But the land was donated to the county in 1941 under one condition: the land must remain a county park forever. It’s now the subject of two ongoing lawsuits. The Record-Eagle’s Aly Kleidon has been covering the story and joins us today. Also, Ludacris has canceled his performance at the 100th anniversary of the National Cherry Festival. His reason — “an unforeseen scheduling conflict.”
