Welcome. Welcome. Rob, I had a dream about you last night that you were your, what does he call it? Does he call it your candy wound or something?

Candy scratch? Yeah. Yeah. Is it candy wound?

It might be candy. Candy cut. It's probably candy cut. Yeah.

That delighted me. It's a type of, it's a type of cut you get. Your candy cut. Your candy cut.

So I had that dream and in the dream it was completely healed today. Mm hmm. So that, that bodes well. Yeah, that's good.

Uh, welcome to Antoine, Peeks, Antoine, Antoine, Peeks. I'll say, boy, I'll say, uh, the only Foghorn, Lakehorn style Twin Peaks recap program. Now, now listen here, boy, I say, I say I'm Dan. I'll say I'm Rob.

And that, and that boy over there is Rob. Yeah. Just go boy. We're on part 11 of Twin Peaks, the return.

Yep. We are. Last week, some stuff happened. It was very, very terrestrial affair.

Mm hmm. Uh, and a lot more of that, a lot more of that this time around too. Nothing too. We get a little, we get, we always get a little.

I mean, a man does. Oh, right. Yeah. I forgot his head explodes.

His head does explode. And then, you know, David Lynch also gets sucked into a vortex. Right. Yeah.

I guess I forgot about the vortex. It's easy to forget. I know. Mm hmm.

Much like, uh, much like anyone who goes into it, much like Matthew Willard up on going into it. Right. He kind of forgets about it. So I lied, of course.

There's a lot of wacky shit going on, but I like, of course, I like, of course, I like to trick you. Ah, nasty. There is. So we do start with what other than America's pastime?

Just a bit, a bit of America's pastime. A game of catch between some young boys. Yep. What could be, what is Rob, I ask you, what is better in this life than a good game of catch?

That's all you nothing, Dan. Uh, we're recording this on Father's Day. And I mean, dads and playing catch, they go hand in hand. Absolutely.

I got my ball and my glove already. I'm just waiting for my dad to come over and pick me up. You know, a little ball cap. Sound on the corner.

Yep. Grown ass man. Yeah. Just waiting for my dead dad to.

I was sitting here contemplating my next move. And I was like, I think that's Rob's story to talk. Oh, but you know what? There is precedent for dead dads coming to play baseball.

So right. Come on. Hey, that is sort of like the, the, uh, the like, um, thinning of the barrier between this world and the next is on the baseball diamond. That's it.

Yeah. Vortex open. Okay. Your head fucking popped by a Randy, Randy Johnson pops up squeezing your head, even though he's still alive.

Throws that heat, right? You're dumb fucking cracks it wide open. Mickey Mantle whips an empty gin bottle at your head. That guy like the sauce.

The man loves sauce. It's a bit of a saucy. That guy. Mm.

It was the one game he couldn't, couldn't win. Yes. Wait, you lost every time. Um, anyway, three boys playing catch.

Uh, and the ball rolls into the street. Were you immediately like, Oh my God, some kids going to another kid is going to get hit by a car? I, I was like, I was like, you got to wake up pretty early in the morning to trick me. Uh, you're fucking with me now, Lynch.

Yeah. Lynch babe. Um, I do like again, another one of these sort of very low. Low key shots that I think is just like so well composed of the ball rolling down the driveway and across the street.

It makes the driveway look so long and like foreboding. It's great. It's so nothing, but it's incredible. Yeah, of course.

It's movie magic. Ultimately. Um, so ball rolls across the street kid runs to go get, did you think a kid was going to get annihilated? Well, I mean, that's like, uh, that was like my first thought was like a ball rolls in the street kid goes after it.

Like my instinct was like, yeah, this kid's going to hit by a car, but I knew that wasn't going to happen because we already saw a kid get hit by a car and Lynch is not like, it's not his, he's not going back to the well like that. He's like, I, I, I deal in like, I like, I like electricity and, uh, I don't know. I just having a boy run over by a car is not, that's not electric man. Um, but I think the truth is like kind of adjacent here, which is that school teacher Miriam Sullivan is magnetically drawn to situations where boys can be mowed down.

Yeah. She's drawn to, yeah, boys in the street. Right. It's like it's low tide, but she's still at the, at the beach.

You know, right. Yeah. Miriam, um, the boy, he grabs a ball and then, uh, he looks over and sees, uh, Miriam sort of like crawl in. Did you say worse for wear?

Yeah, she's seen better days. Yeah. Uh, but were you so glad to see her and know that she was still alive? You know, again, when, I mean, yes, frankly, to be perfectly honest, yes, I kind of thought it's like to really deliberately show her breathing.

Yeah. Why do that if she's not gonna? Yeah. But also it's like Dave's not, you know, he's been known to just like sort of paint a little situation and be like, isn't this the most fucked up thing you've ever seen?

It's like that would be more fucked up than if she was dead already is if she got exploded in her own trailer. Also. Yeah. So school team explodes in her trailer.

Um, the, uh, what's it gonna say? The shot also of her, um, just sort of like looking head on at the boy. It's from sort of like boy POV boy cam. Yeah.

Whatever you don't Google search boy cam. Yeah. Do not do not. Um, but it is sort of like a strapped to go pro to that kid's head and they're like, like, look, look over at me.

Yeah. Yeah. Great shot. He loves to make someone look scary and sort of like they're crawling toward you.

Yeah. That is, that is a well he will go back to he being Dave. Yes. Boy cam.

Boy cam. Get the boy cam. Strapped that boy up with a camera. It's my first feature shot entirely in boy cam.

Inland Empire too. When, when are they gonna make an inland empire to? Yeah. When are they gonna do that?

That, that is, that's the question Jiminy Glick asks. Inland Empire. When's the sequel? Uh, doesn't, uh, doesn't Martin Short play David Lynch in the Glick movie?

Yes, he does. Right. Yeah, he does. And he does a very, very good impression of.

Should we do, uh, the Jiminy Glick part of, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I would, I would love to, I'd love to finish watching Jiminy Glick in La La Wood.

Do you haven't finished watching it? No, it's not. It's not that good. Oh, it was like it had some good jokes, but I don't think it's that good.

So you're saying, uh, what Clifford is better than Jiminy Glick's movie? Yeah, by, by all the lot, by leaps and bounds. Yeah. But here's what I will say.

We can watch it for our, our much discussed series on, uh, like sketch character adaptations, not from SNL. Hey, we could do that. Yeah. It is funny that he has, he's, uh, well, one married to a woman and also that he has two sons who look exactly like him.

Martin Short or Jiminy Glick? Jiminy Glick. Yeah. Yeah.

Uh, yes. That is very funny. Yes. Yeah.

Have you seen, um, there's a clip of, of Glick with Alec Baldwin, uh, famous, famous pig hate gun. Yeah. Famous pig hater Alec Baldwin. Um, it's like, but it's like kind of, I won't say peak Baldwin, but it's from like, you know, early 2000s.

When was like, yeah, doing the thing. And I got to say, man, Baldwin, he's locked in. He's written. He sure, he almost breaks Martin Short.

Yeah. You almost got some to break. It's pretty good. That's, we got to give it up for for Alec Baldwin for the old pig here.

Yeah. That old pig hater. Yeah. I mean, uh, Baldwin, right?

You guys like, uh, all through the nineties, right? Just like a stud in movies and then just becomes this, uh, you know, puts on all the weight just settles into like what he's going to be for the rest of his life. Yeah. Smash cut to him like simping so hard for 95 year old Woody Allen on a zoom call.

Oh my God. Have you ever seen that? Yeah. Right.

Yeah. Just laugh at fake laughing so hard at Woody Allen literally being like, Oh, soony, I have to give him my credit card. Oh my God. I saw somebody.

Yeah. The other women be shopping. They really shopping. I saw somebody online the other day, uh, defending Woody Allen.

Yeah. I just what he Allen or his work. No, his personal life, mostly. Oh, why would you do that?

Yeah. Somebody's like, uh, somebody said like, it's really fucking weird that like it was something about like, uh, uh, me a Pharaoh, uh, me a Pharaoh. She, uh, she was saying that she hasn't seen soony in like, whatever, 25 years or something like that. Right.

And you know, it hurts her. And somebody is like, well, that wasn't actually her daughter anyway. And people are like, yeah, but like, you fucked up. Right.

Yeah. Like what do you all married to step down? Well, the word actually, it was a common law marriage. So technically she wasn't his step daughter and you're like, do you sound like a libertarian?

Yeah, man. I don't know what you're trying to get at with this. Yeah. All these technicalities.

You shouldn't, you shouldn't have to zoom in on the situation to figure out if it's kosher or not. Right. That's not, it's not at all. It's not going to do something else.

Yeah. But then like, make another, make a midnight Paris too. What are you going to make a night Paris? I was having this conversation with somebody else, right?

Like, uh, you have another podcast? Yeah. Yeah. That's the only place I can have conversation.

Now, um, like, uh, obviously like soony, right, I don't know all of the details, but clearly like groomed and then like, you know, uh, groomed into being Woody Allen's wife, right? From a, assuming younger age, uh, what's her, Celine Dion, right? Kind of a similar thing where she met her. It was like her, I want to say manager.

Um, and like the, the, the met when she was like 13 and he was like 30. Oh shit. I didn't know that. And you know, they didn't get together until she was 18 and then they married and they stayed together until he died.

Uh, you know, whatever the fuck that was, they were together for like decades though, right? Um, but like, I don't know, at what point, if ever, is it like, like, is it anybody's responsibility to approach Celine Dion and be like, Hey, man, like this is like really messed up and let me explain why to you, you know, I mean, I'm, I'm sure people tried, right? You got to imagine. And then like at a certain point, like I imagine early on, at least that was a thing.

But then at a certain point, like they've been married, they have kids, like it's just falling on forever. And you're like, this is still fucked up, but like they're both like, you know, over 50 years old. What can any of us do now? Yeah.

I don't know what to do about that. I don't know how to square that off in my head, you know? That is tricky. I mean, the thing that really depresses me about it, I mean, there's a lot to be depressed about, obviously, but the sort of macro thing that depresses me is that like stuff like that happening, it tells me that like the idea of like human evolution and social progress is a farce and just, of course, that's just like medieval, like feudal lord shit.

It's like, we're never, we're never going to break that. We're never going to break it. We're never going to break that. libraries between countries and shit like that there will always be some sort of conflict there will always be a hierarchy of people.

It's believe me there always being conflict and abusive relationships. Hey. What's it? 7.

Let's talk about Becky and Steve Stephen. Steeven. Yeah, Becky she's like, I'm gonna say she's hysterical. She calls up her mom, Shelly, and she says, I need to go find Steven, I need your car.

And I need you, I need you now. And Shelly tries to ask her a question, and she's like, I need the car now. And Shelly drops everything. Runs out of the double R.

Yep. And then come back to Becky who is collecting a gun from under the couch or something. Yes. Then when Shelly gets there, Becky takes the car.

Yeah, she just grabs the keys out of her hand and just gets in the car. And Shelly tries to like, wait, wait, wait, wait. Shelly tries to like, block her, ends up on the hood of the car, gets tossed. Yep.

Her shoes go flying. If they do. Great detail. Yep.

That the shoes go flying. And she freaking speeds off. Yep. Becky, speed off.

Yeah. Thank God, Herrdeen Stanton is there. Yeah. And thank God he has his recorder.

His recorder that is like Irish tin whistle that summons his driver. Yeah. That was pretty good, right? Like he just, so, yeah, so Herrdeen Stanton comes over and she's like, I gotta go get Becky.

She took off, you know, I don't know where she is. Can you give me a ride back into the double R or whatever? And he takes out this little tin whistle kind of thing and blows into it. And then like, a second later, the van pulls off.

It's just like, it just waits around for that whistle below, you know? Who needs Uber? So, yes. Then we get like a sit down with Bobby, Becky.

Well, not yet. We're in the car in the van right over. Right. I like this little detail.

Like, Shelly is talking to, what's Herrdeen Stanton's car? Carl. Shelly is talking to Carl. Carl Rod.

Yes. Carl Rod. With two Ds. And she's saying like, whatever, like she's trying to help and stuff.

And then Carl says like, yeah, there's trouble in that trailer. Like we've all heard it and whatever. And Shelly is like, I don't know what to do. And then Carl is like, well, why don't you, you know, call Bobby.

Get Bobby involved. He's a deputy. And then, like Herrdeen Stanton in the van, they just have like a CB radio and Herrdeen Stanton just calls up the dispatcher, the police station. And they're like, hey, Carl, what's going on?

And then like, can you get Bobby Briggs on the phone? And so, yes. And so now Bobby is involved. And how about that?

Like that, uh, the little shot of the dispatcher just having a busy day at work. Well, that after what, you know, what Becky does. So first. Oh, right.

Okay. Yeah. Okay. Becky, she drives over to this apartment complex and starts banging on this door.

And this is, we find out where Steven's, uh, you know, the girl that he's, his side piece, the one he's keeping on the side. His side piece. Gerson Haeward? What?

You kidding me? Played by Alicia Witt. The very same. Um, Donna's, Donna's talented little sister.

Um, I love that they brought that character back and the same actress to play her. Yeah, right. Give her something to do. Yeah.

Who are we forgetting? I think that's very fun. Um, so, yeah. Uh, so when Becky goes there, she's banging on the door.

Uh, she's banging on the door. And then one of the neighbors is like, they're not there. They already left. And then Becky takes out the gun and just unloads it into the door.

Uh, it's got to feel so good. Oh, definitely. Uh, but that is when the dispatch starts, you know, getting all the, all calls like, and then somebody's on the, yep. Um, you ever shoot a gun?

Yes. Have you? No, I haven't. I shot it's been a long time, but I, uh, went to the shooting range, uh, up into the shooting range before.

Got to tell you, Dan. They know you down there. I'm a shot. Are you?

You're a skilled marksman? You're Chris Kyle? Yeah, I'm a bit of a Chris Kyle. What were you shooting brother?

Actually. What were you shooting brother? Um, you know, just, uh, just paper. No, no, no.

Come on. What kind of gun? What kind of gun were you? So, uh, a friggin Ruger.

That's one. That is one. No, it was like, uh, I shot a revolver. I shot a rifle.

Um, big revolver. Yeah, actually. Like a Magnum. Yeah, it was like some fucking like monster fucking cannon.

Like, actually, I kept, I haven't here. Yeah, yeah. I held onto the shell and the shell itself. I mean, it's not like a 50 caliber, but it's big.

It's like, it's bigger than it needs to be. Absolutely blow a hole through, you know. You get some of the Matthew Lillard treatment. Yeah, exactly.

Just dismantle somebody. Um, scary. It is scary. Uh, the first time I went shooting, um, it's definitely like, uh, not even that it's like scary, but it's just like on your nerves.

You know, like, I was, I wasn't nervous about it, but for whatever reason, like, just like the jolt to my nervous system. Like, I started getting shaky. Yeah. You know, and then like, the second time was much easier and like, I knew what to expect, but that first time I was like, oh, no, it's the third time was a little too easy.

Yeah. It just got easier and easier after that. And then, you know, now it just, you're in your, you're in your shooting lane doing gun flu. Yeah.

Yeah. Um, oh, that was, was that during your phase where you were wearing a shirt with the Punisher logo on it every day? Yeah. That was my pun.

And you got your, you got your full sleeve of Punisher skulls. Yes. Full tattoo sleeve. Full tattoo.

Right. It was just Punisher skulls with different colored. So like one was just white. One was like the American flag.

One was like a blue lives matter. Yeah. A blue line. A thin blue one.

One of them was a red lives matter, which doesn't make sense in terms of the Punisher, but like, I'm a Punisher, that fire. I may, yeah, I, I may be the Punisher, but I got mad respect for the brave men and women of the New York City Police Department. I mean, fire department. Yeah.

I, uh, do you have a tie dye one for a deadhead? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

No, wait, wait, isn't it? Doesn't, don't the dead have it? Oh, yeah, they have their own. So it'd be the Punisher, Punisher skull, but with the like lightning bolt, the red and blue lightning bolt.

Yes. That's what I have. Yeah. Feels good.

Feels good. That logo always struck me as kind of like fascist. It's all like, because like the Nazis had the skull logo and they had the lightning bolt logo. It's like, what aren't we saying here?

It's like the red, white and blue of it all. Yeah. I mean, if it was like red, white and black, that'd probably be worse. Well, yeah.

That would be a worse look. Yeah. No, I mean, the skull and the skull had the little toothbrush mustache. Did it?

No, it didn't. Oh, oh, I would do that. Dude, a Hitler. Dude, right.

Hitler. That was ruining mustaches, right? Um, it's the worst thing you ever did, right? It's probably, I'm going to say number three.

I'm going to say like first percentile worst things he's done. So Becky shoots a bunch of holes in the door. Right. We do see Steven and Gerson hiding in the stairwell.

Gerson. Gerson. I'm going to say that's the only one in the room. I'm going to say that's the only one in the room.

Yeah. We do. We do see that. Uh, yeah.

Over smash cut to Buckhorn. Buckhorn. Um, our, uh, our FBI folks and detective, uh, what's the name? Matt.

Matt Lee. Um, they're basically like, uh, they're, is this one that go to this? This is one of the littler takes them to the thing, right? So they drive to the zone, the site, right?

You know, Matthew, you know, Matthew, you know, Bill Hastings and Ruth Davenport, uh, contacted major grigs and they went into the zone and all of this sort of business, right? Yes. So, um, Albert and Gordon, they go, they, they get to this place and it's just like an abandoned house on like a piece of property. It's kind of overgrown.

There's nothing like nothing about this place really. Uh, a liminal space. It's a liminal space. Uh, so Gordon and Albert, uh, they walk onto the property and they're like looking around or whatever.

They see both of them see a, one of those, uh, dirty woodsman guys. Yeah. It's filthy, filthy woodsman. And Albert points him out and he's, and then the guy disappears.

And I did really like this because, you know, Albert is such a, uh, you know, he's a skeptic. He's a skeptic and all that, but he's like, he's like, well, I just saw that. So I know it's real and there's no, no question. Yeah.

Albert says, uh, I believe his line is, uh, yes. So I guess that just happened. Just getting, uh, but yeah, yeah. No, they're like, uh, I mean, he's like in it.

He's, he's in the shit on this case. Yeah. It's gone full of rows here. That's right.

Uh, so that, so yeah, that happened. Um, and then they sort of like talked to, uh, was his thing Hastings, right? Bill Hastings, Matthew Leleur's character. Um, and he's like, yeah, walked in about 15, 20 feet past the gate and that's where it happened.

So they do that. And then what the what the what the? Of vortex. A full on vortex.

Vortex, vortex opens up in the sky and Gordon is, is, is like drawn to it. He's standing there looking up at it. I haven't seen a vortex that mesmerizing in the sky since, uh, fifth grade playground when they're for least the vortex football. Go on.

Go on. Um, it's not the well here. So yes, um, Gordon is like sort of a fixated, transfixed on this vortex and Albert, he, where Gordon is standing seems to be like the spot to see him. Like Albert is standing maybe 15 or 20 feet behind him and he's looking up and he doesn't see anything, right?

Uh, but he, when he looks at that, I love that, I love that wide shot. Also of them all standing there looking and Gordon, cause Gordon at a certain point has his like arms up toward it. Um, and you just see from like, I don't know, a hundred yards away, Chris Kyle's style. Um, just, yeah, just like total silence piece and everyone's just standing around watching David Lynch with his arm stretched out in nothing.

Yes. So, uh, but yeah, as he's doing this, the camera gets different. So blurry and cheeky stuff. Yeah.

Face, they strap a GoPro on Albert, man cam. Uh, get, get, get me that boy cam. I mean, just straddle a little Albert with it. Um, and yeah, Cole starts like sort of phasing in and out of, you know, visible reality.

So Albert reaches in and grabs him and pulls him back. Cause when the vortex opens also, we see a bunch of those dirty woodsmen and you do not want to send Gordon Cole, FBI director Gordon Cole into the arms of 15. It's 13, 30 woodsmen. Yeah.

Um, they'll, they'll crush your skull. The crush of Dan's skull. They will. And how do we know?

Well, we'll come to know. But first the vortex disappears and then we see, um, we see a most of a woman. Yeah. Yes.

We do see most of a woman. Um, there is a, uh, a headless naked body of a woman, just like sort of laying in the grass there. Uh, and they walk over and they're like roof, roof, that I presume, whatever. Um, and while Albert and Gordon are doing this, right, Tammy is sort of standing on the edge of the property with the gun, just covering them.

Um, Diane is there. She is like, just like leaning on the car, smoking. And then in the second car, we have, uh, Ben Hastings and detective, uh, Bill Hastings, or, uh, Bill Hastings, uh, Bill Hastings, um, detective, uh, Macley, right? And Diane sees one of these dirty woodsmen too, sort of like up here and disappear and get closer to the detective's car.

Um, then it disappears entirely. And then like the camera is focused on the detective and then out of nowhere, we just search, you know, we got like a shot of, we get a shot of Hastings where like his, he's got like a look of concerns face and the camera gets a little funky, like he's kind of vibrating or something. Yeah. But yeah, then from the front seat, we hear a bit of a pop.

Uh, uh, Macley looks over his shoulder and it's like, you know, it's like a Jesus Christ or what the fuck or whatever, but it's such a great line reading on that. Yeah. Yeah. Um, yeah, it's really good.

Yeah. So everyone, everyone sort of gathers around the car. Like they're what happened. Uh, and then Cole looks in the back seat and says, yep, he's dead.

Oh man. These, uh, these dirty woodsmen, man, they, they just love crushing people's skulls. Huh? They are no joke.

Yeah. They don't fuck around. They really, all crushers skull and then if you're a bad guy, they'll put you back together. That's right.

But now before they get your blood all over your face, big disgrace style. Uh, these guys, these dirty guys. Yeah. Yeah.

What do you think they are in the grand scheme of things? Um, is it possible to know? No, I don't think it is possible to know. I think they are.

They're like, um, I don't know this. So like, so like there's, you know, like Bob and the giant and the arm and all of these other characters, right? Yes. Yes.

I know them well. Yes. And they seem to be like very sort of powerful in their own ways. These dirty woodsmen, right?

They seem to be, um, you know, they have some sort of power or whatever, but it doesn't seem to be as strong and say, and they seem like just have super strength. Yeah. They're a lower tier of whatever comes out of, uh, that's the atomic bomb explosion, you know? Yeah.

Like maybe helpers, you know, I mean, they do seem like helpers in general. They seem, they're fucking, they're flying monkeys. They're flying monkeys. Exactly.

They're like, I don't even know why I asked. They're crushing skulls and, uh, you know, uh, smearing blood. It's their thing. That's, they love to do it.

That's true. Smoking cigs. They love to put on some gangster rap with their hair up in a messy ponytail and just crush Matthew Lillard's skull. Yeah.

Um, or messy bun, messy ponytail. This ponytail sucks. It's just slapdash. Just far, far be it for me to tell anyone how to live their life.

But if you've got a messy ponytail, do better. Yeah. Do better ladies. Yeah.

Listen, all right. As the two guys that are going to bring back a little affair, get your messy ponytails. I think that was entirely before we started recording. Yeah, it was.

Yeah. We're going to be the two guys bring back a little. Yeah. We're going to be sleazy producers and bring back a little affair in a gross way.

In a gross way and a, uh, extremely profitable for us way. Yeah. Good one boss. Yeah.

Um, okay. So, Matthew Lillard skull crushed. Yep. Uh, Becky also emotionally crushed.

Yes. At the diner, Shelly and Bobby and Becky are all sitting there and Bobby is just like, all right, well, what do you want to do here? Becky. And she's like, I want out and they're like, all right.

So you want a divorce and she's like, yes, but I love him and he can change and I know he's good deep down and blah, blah, blah. And they're just like, Bobby's trying. Yeah. Bobby especially is trying so hard to be an adult here.

God bless. I know. It's, I mean, yeah, we've, we've talked about it, but the Bobby arc is like, it's pretty great. It is pretty great.

Bobby arc was like, it's like the time you built your Tesla coil. That was Bobby arc. That was a. But yeah, and it's like, uh, and the stuff with him and Shelly, the way Shelly is just like, obviously going to enable Becky at every turn because she's still like there in her life.

Also, right. Yeah. Yeah. And she's kind of sad.

Yeah. So Bobby's like, Becky, you got to pay for the damage at the apartment or whatever. And eventually Becky sort of like, I don't know what to make of this. If it's just like her like bullshitting them and trying to like deescalate the situation or like, you know, maneuver it in her favor or if it really the way she plays it, the way she plays it, the way man to see for he plays it is kind of like she just like snaps out of her like the spell breaks almost.

So there's a moment where, uh, you know, like Shelly and Bobby are talking to her or whatever. And she's kind of defending Steven. Like, she's saying that like, uh, you know, Bobby says you have to pay for the door and she's like, I don't have the money. I'm not doing it and all this other stuff, right?

It's like, it's just kind of like confrontational in general. And then, uh, you know, Bobby's like, I'll give you the money. I'll engine the money. You have to pay me back.

And she's like, okay. And then she looks over at Norma, Becky looks at Norma, right? And Norma just kind of smiles and gives like, just like this subtle sort of like gentle nod to Becky. And then it is as if Becky sort of like snaps out of it and just like realizes like kind of what she's done.

Right. Because the next thing she says, she's like, oh my God, you were on the hood of the car. Are you okay? Yeah.

Yeah. Which is like crazy. It is crazy. Obviously that I took this long to say sorry about that.

But also, I don't know. There's something about it that does sort of ring true about like, you know, Becky obviously like going on today. Right. Big day.

Big day for her. At the office for Becky. Like going on in her head, she's all like, like, she's all fucked up. Like her husband has her all fucked up.

He's cheating. He's fucking, you know, on drugs. He's taking all their money. He's up guys in the main lining sparkle for the past six months.

Right. And then like the moment that like breaks it is just like the second that she's out of, you know, away from the conversation just makes contact with Norma and she's like, oh my God. Right. Right.

It is sort of just like, oh, I'm like in society again, I'm like around other people like this network of people who care about me and each other. Right. Yeah. That's what's all about babe.

But unfortunately, yeah, as all of this is playing out as they get this like sort of moment of, you know, some closure. Shelly peeps out the window and who does she see? But Balth is our Getty as red as red. The, uh, or like the Balth is a hotty.

That's me. Baba boom. Baba boom. And yeah, I mean, talk about a sparkle enthusiast.

Yeah, this guy loves sparkle. I loves it. And that is like, I mean, that's also so loaded, right? Because like Steve is like an addict and red's like the fucking guy.

Yep. And there's that. I also think it's like, oh man, Shelly just has the worst taste in men. Truly just her whole life.

Damn life. Like except except for Bobby, but only in hindsight, can we say that? Right. Like only now can we say that he was a good one.

Yeah. Right. He became a good one. Like he got his shit together.

It seems like he turned it around. Well, and now she couldn't be less interested in him. Exactly. So that's a great moment too.

We're like, he's sort of like looking at Shelly and red because they're like, she can barely get out the door before she's like, yeah, she's making a put in those hands, putting those hands all over his lower back. And he's like shooting daggers at him. And it's both right because it's Shelly, but it's also because we know Bobby is like working the beat on the sparkle sales. Right.

Right. Like he's that's his area of expertise. Yes. So he knows what's up.

Yeah. I don't know. It's got to be just like in general, you know, it seems like it's, you know, again, Bobby has early on in like in the series season one and two, you'd be like, you know, this kid Bobby, he's a piece of shit. You know, he's a drug dealer.

He's involved with Leo and, you know, all of this shit, right? Then he grows up, becomes this cop. And like, that's why I think the Bobby arc might be my favorite thing about the return in general, but it's like, you know, like Bobby was his punk kid who was like, you know, like most kids, they're like, I mean, destructible, nothing can hurt me ever. I'm smarter than everyone.

I know everything, all the shit, right? And then like life fucking hands you your head a couple times and like fucking like kicks you when you're down and just humbles you. And that's like the Bobby hat we see now is that like for whatever reason, it didn't work out between him and Shelley. They got married.

They had it together, you know, like they were together for real and for whatever reason, it just couldn't make it work. So okay. But like now, you know, Bobby is like, he doesn't, you know, he's a cop in town. He's a deputy seems to be fairly good at it.

But like seems to be the only possible successor to the like to the sheriff position. Yeah, everyone else is either crooked or just wants you to go look at their new car. Yeah. And we're young, the young folk.

Yeah. Yeah, we still have Andy and Hawk, but they're they're Asian. You're not going to make, you're not going to make Andy sheriff. I did think like the first time around, I was a little surprised that Hawk wasn't the sheriff, but yeah, yeah, that's strange.

But he's acting as the sheriff. Essentially, yeah, he is doing a lot of the legwork here and especially this episode. Making Andy the sheriff would be like when they make Jar Jar being a senator. Yes.

Just had to get that off my chest. Yeah, yeah, no, that's good. Before we get into the rest of the rest of me, so gonna take you to the Gungun City. That's a good, uh, uh, Jar Jar Andy, um, do before we finish this scene, you want to take a break and then we'll come back and we'll talk about the rest of this diner scene.

Here's what we'll do. Um, so they, you know, Bobby looks on forlornly at Shelley and Red, canoeing. Yeah. When all of a sudden, a single shot fires through the glass window of the double R diner.

We'll be right back. Also, check out patreon.com slash came up odd. Yeah, that's where we'll be right back to. Yes.

Yeah. All right.
