And for the last time and for the last time welcome to Antoine's and twins and twins peaks peaks. Oh, not anything strong. Well, I'm gonna Antoine's peaks where we answer the question is the black lodge in the upside down. Oh, no, the black lodges in the upside down.
I'm afraid so. Yeah. You open the wrong corner. What do you see looking back at you?
But a goddamn demon gorgon. Oh, there's a demon gorgon in the in the percalator. Oh, Dan, Dan, Dan, is Judy actually a demon gorgon? Oh, yeah.
I wish I could pull any anything that I know about the stranger things. I'm pretty sure I've seen all four seasons and the only things I could really pull as a reference are from the first season. Yeah, I'll run through all of them. Yeah.
And we have time and we have a gorgon. Yeah. Yeah. Dusted upside down Dustin 11 Barb.
Barb. Yeah. Remember? Sure.
That's all I know. Yeah. There was I think in the most recent season where the kid played Metallica. Oh, right.
It was like, have you heard of this band? The ready player one of it all. It's really sickening. Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. We're not talking about stuff we don't like. No.
We do like one thing we do like Twin Peaks, the return, the exit, the final app. That's right. Now you are. Yeah.
You know what I should have said when I said welcome in Twin Peaks, we are your host, Dave and Rick. Just. Oh shit. Were they different guys this whole time?
Oh, fuck. We podcasted the report all and now we're David and Rick. Oh, no. It was the dream of Rob.
That's a great question, man. Do you have an answer or you just? Oh, of course not. You just throw that out there.
I think Laura's the dreamer. Anyway. Oh, interesting. Laura's dreaming.
I mean, if we're going to dive right in to who the hell is the damn dreamer? Who's the damn dreamer? In episode 14, Gordon Cole says, we are like the dreamer who dreams and then lives inside the dream. That sounds like a war.
Who is the dreamer? That does sound like Laura. She's dreaming and she's living inside of it and it's a nightmare. It's a goddamn nightmare everywhere she goes.
Yeah. Doesn't matter. Twin Peaks. Odessa.
These two places. Tried both places and neither worked out. Yep. So that wasn't working out for anyone.
At all. No. It seems like a rough spot. I know.
And we're going to get into all of it. We'll talk about Odessa. We'll talk about those three cowboys who fucking tasted Cooper's fucking steel and then tasted hot lead a bitch. Deep fried lead.
Yeah. Big blade of fried guns. Take the fried guns, please. Would you eat fried gun?
Yeah, I'm a fucking American patriot and I think. Wow. Do you think he'd fried guns? Do you think that's what's happening in that scene?
Yeah. David Lynch is doing like era style satire, internet satire. Uh huh. Must be.
Must be. All right. Let's walk through these. Well, yeah.
Little. This is episode 18. This is the last episode of Twin Peaks. Presumably.
I know. Dan. You didn't watch this until you know, preparing for this episode. So this is very fresh in your mind, it seems.
Yeah. How did you feel after this episode ended? Terrible. Duh.
Of course. Yeah. Yeah. It's like, it's like a resounding defeat for everybody.
Don't you think? I don't know. I don't know. I am.
Diane doesn't exist anymore. Well, she doesn't. She doesn't. She doesn't.
I mean, maybe, maybe that was her standing near the motel. Right. You see, here's the thing is, you know, if you want to, you could take away, you know, just a more open ended sort of ending here, which, you know, that's okay too. I don't think, like, it's definitely like not, again, much like everything in season three.
I feel like it's not fan service. And it's not like it would have been so easy again for David Lynch to just be like, all right, after 25 years, I'm bringing Twin Peaks back, right? And even if he does everything exactly the same and he does all the doggy stuff and whatever else, and then you get to episode 18, it would have been very easy for him to just like sort of give it a happy ending. Or yeah, you know, whatever, a more not even doesn't even have to be a happy ending, a more conclusive ending, a more.
Sure. And ending that takes place in decidedly the same universe as the rest of the show. Sure. No, maybe no questions about that.
Yeah. But yeah, we didn't know that. I think it's funny that like after the doggy thing, the whole Cooper as doggy, we get two episodes of Cooper and then this right, this final episode where he's Cooper adjacent, he's like a meaner Cooper, a harder Cooper. Yeah.
And he has a different name. Yeah. Well, now he kind of has a different name. Maybe.
We'll get into it kind of his car is different. This car changed overnight. Did it allegedly? Hm.
Per the wiki. Per the wiki. Oh, okay. I didn't notice that.
Anyway, not very stupid individual. So the episode opens. Smash cut to black lodge. We're back in the black lodge.
We're back in black lodge. That's what we should call it. Antwinds, peaks colon for the return. We should call it Antwinds, peaks colon back in black lodge.
Well, it's not too late. We could still we could still do it. And there's still one. They're still time to change the answer when we come back from break.
We can come back to and wouldn't that be so apropos? Because the break is like a portal. It is like a portal. It's like it's like crossing.
It's like we're crossing into another place. We'll do 430 minutes exactly up front. And then cross through that portal baby. So black lodge, double Cooper, Mr.
double Cooper, Mr. Bob, double Cooper. His hot bod is sitting in a chair. And I do mean hot bod.
That mother fuckers on fire. He is on fire. Yeah. And then we've seen it a hundred times now.
It's like it's Hulpa. Catch it to me. To me, this is no big deal. Yeah, to me, this is like, this isn't even weird anymore.
I'm like, I'm used to this sort of thing. I'm fast forwarding through this part. Honestly. What is he going to turn into some sort of a golden seed of some sort?
All right. So four. So yeah, double Cooper in the black lodge, burst into flames. They get rid of him.
It's a real problem for everyone. Yeah. They cut his head off. They dissolve his body and lie.
Yeah. Yeah. What do you call him? You a scarhead guy?
You like I've never seen it. Oh man. Danny to the new. Oh, Danny.
Jijama pal. So hello, Danny. Danny. Actually, our Vortany.
We got business. So Cooper, double Cooper off the board. He's gone. He's a dog.
He's a freaking dog. He's just a dog. So Mike takes one of these little seeds and the hair that Cooper gave him and makes a new doggy. And this is doggy.
This is like, this is, this is doggy. He's so dopey and like, you know, he pops into his eyes. He's just like, though, where am I? Shut up.
Thank gets home. And he's happy to see his family and his family is happy to see him. Yeah. That is like, as good as it's going to get this whole episode for anybody.
This is as good as anybody's going to feel. This is it. I mean, if you want to take a second to just sit here. Yeah.
If you want to turn the episode off now, go ahead and do that because it's only going to go downhill from here. That's right. Yes. So yeah, Mike makes another doggy when he gets back.
When he goes to the house and Jamie E and Sonny Jim, they run to the door and Jamie says, dad's home or no, just, I guess, Sonny Jim says dad's home, dad's home. And then Dougie just says home. And we know that everything is right. And in this little family's world in lost wages.
Sonny Jim could come out of lost wages. Sonny Jim's got a gym set in the backyard. Jamie E's got a cool car and presumably now a husband who can pleasure her. Yep.
And Dougie, which seems to be enough for him. Well, Dougie now exists, which is good for him. He also, I mean, he's probably going to make partner at that insurance company that he's working on, right? Absolutely right.
Absolutely right. And what do we think? He's just going to stop hanging out with the Mitchum brothers. No fucking wow.
Mitchum brothers are coming over for Sunday dinner. 100% and they're, you know, candy and the girls, they're coming too. It's going to be, it's going to be great for everybody in lost wages. I'm glad that the good stuff is happening in lost wages.
That just goes to show you how topsy turvy this world of ours is. I mean, it does sort of feel like the upside down. I'm just like, the damn upside down. My read on this whole season is that David Lynch was like, no, I'll never do it.
Never do more twin peaks. And then he's like, let's see what's on Netflix. Now that I've never do, I've made that decision. I'll see what's new on Netflix, the Stranger Things.
I love those kinds of things. Yeah, I love strange things. I've been known to make some of those myself. And he puts it on and just tears in his eyes.
And he's like, this gives me an idea. I owe it all to the Duffer brothers. That's all for brothers. Who I imagine are not dissimilar from the Mitchum brothers.
There's one kind of skinny, warmy one and one, you know, jovial, oh fish one. Yeah, that would be funny if you looked up. Like, I know nothing about the Duffer brothers. Let me look them up.
And they're just sort of like carbon copies of the show. Ah, double yangers. All right. Well played, sir.
Anyway, let's also we got a bit of a recap too of the last episode with it sort of replays the scene where Cooper is taking Laura out of the woods, you know, by hand. And then she disappears. We get that scene again. We also get the scene between him and Cooper and Mike when I think this was like in the very, this may be the first episode of the season where Mike says, is it future or is it past?
And now, I mean, good question, Mike, because we're bouncing all over the place. You're asking me? Yeah. I'm not working the switchboard over here.
You tell me, buddy, shit, man. I don't know. I mean, I'm not a Tulpa. I'm not running these curtains over here.
Where do they go? I don't know. And he sort of like, he looks to like where Laura was and Laura's like not there at first. Right?
He seems to like look there, knowing, remembering this thing that has happened where she shows us. Yeah. And then do we scream and fly away again? We do.
We get a replay of her like whispering in Cooper's ear and then going, yeah, yeah. Woohoo. Whoa. Like Mario.
Mike also hits Cooper with the story about the little girl who lives down the lane. I've been hearing a lot about this little girl that lives down the lane. Oh, actually, it's the arm who says that. They walk into that room where the arm is.
And you may remember the arm is a tree. An electrical tree. Now he's an electric tree with like sort of a, I don't know, like a rubbery gummy sort of brainy ball with a mouth. Yeah.
A bit of a nerve. He's looking like a nerve. I'm sorry. He's like a synapse.
A damn synapse. A bit of a nervous system there. You got going on. So that happens and then we cut back to Laura.
Yeah, that's when we cut back to Laura and Cooper and Lori gets ripped up and knows who friggin knows where maybe Odessa remains to be seen. What? All right. Well, yeah, that's exactly where she is going.
Odessa. Woohoo. And then Cooper's strutting around the black lodge and he goes and takes his pants off, walks around. He's gonna tear him out.
Who's he come across? But Leeland Palmer. Yep. All of this stuff.
We've seen all of this stuff before. This happened all in the first episode. He saw Leeland and he says, fucking Laura. Why talking weird, man.
I know why. What is this? The upside down? Come on.
It's more like the backwards. Yeah. The other way. So then he he, Cooper's like, he's really powering up here.
I find because he does the hand thing. He knows how to use the hand. He's sort of like, what do you call those stupid dowsing rods or whatever? Yeah.
His hands like a dowsing rod now. Yeah. He just sort of like sticks it out and starts shaking a little bit. He's like better go that way.
And he's walking down the hall of the black lodge and one of the curtains starts rippling. So basically hand it equals GPS. GPS, he plugs in coordinates for Glastonbury Grove in the woods of Twin Peaks. And now he goes and who's there waiting for him?
Rob. You're not me. It's Diane. Oh, I gotta rewatch this.
Yeah. Diane is standing there waiting for him when he gets out. Now, Dan, in this portion here, right? So we saw, you know, Cooper went back in time.
You know, Phil Jeffries was like, let me put you right here, right then. And he does that. Tries to save Laura, Laura gets, Laura disappears, right? Then the next thing, next scene we see of Cooper, he's back in the black lodge, right?
And it seems like we're just replaying all of these same things, right? So, you know, Cooper interacts first, you know, talks to Mike and then he talks to, and then he sees Laura and then the arm and all that stuff. All of this stuff took place early on in the season. And then when he got to the curtain, the first time around and he opened it up, you remember, it seemed to be like high up above the highway.
And we saw like the car of Dopple Cooper, like driving. And it was supposed to be some sort of a, you know, point, you know, the specific point in time and place and et cetera, where the two of them were supposed to switch. Dopple Cooper goes back inside. Regular Cooper goes out.
That didn't happen, right? So now we have the scene of Cooper walking out of the black lodge and back into the woods in Twin Peaks, right? But this area that he has walked out of now looks like the past version of itself. It looks like the trees are saplings.
They're saplings, right? Everything looks like it did in, you know, 1990. But Diane is there, right? And Diane did not go back in time with Cooper, but apparently she did.
Maybe after Cooper left, she sort of snuck in there and talked to Jeffers, I was like, put me over here. I don't know. That's a question. Hmmm.
Heading through that. To think about it. I have no answer. It's just an observation.
But from here, they're like, okay, we had like Cooper's like, let's go. And this is, you know, again, this was the first scene in season three. It was when Cooper was talking to the fireman. And the fireman was like, he tells me, he's like, remember, three, four, zero.
Four, three, zero. What'd I say? Three, four. Three, four, zero?
That's a little backwards talk for you. How's the middle out? Was this working? That show with Tom Middleditch.
Where they're talking about middle out compression. Oh, yeah. What's that show called? Silicon Valley.
Middle Ditch is doing good, right? Yeah. Thomas Middleout more like, dude, the compression. Dude, the compression.
Yeah, he's doing great. Yeah. So, the fireman, life in the gasoline. The fireman tells Cooper to remember four, three, zero.
Richard and Linda. Now I'm over here thinking, Richard and Linda Thompson. Right. No.
That's wrong. No. You would be wrong in thinking that. Oh, the house barking.
Yeah. Even dogs. No, that's not right. Stop it.
Go on. Go on. Come on. But yeah, so the fireman basically gave him instruction.
Like from a certain point, from Twin Peaks, you go on the road, drive 430 miles, and you will get to a vortex point. And so we see Cooper and Diane, they drive and like Cooper's like, right, exactly 430 miles. Like he's looking at the odometer and he gets out, walks around a little bit and he feels it. And there are these power lines giving off the glowing.
Yeah, they're electrical sounds and it's glowing and then he gets back in the car and he says, this is definitely it. He's like, I don't know what's going to happen to us when we cross over. And then the kiss. And then they drive through this.
They like slowly like drive through this vortex, this point. And all of a sudden things are flashing. It goes like bright, dark, bright, dark. And then it flashes to them in the middle of the night, driving fast down the highway.
Classic night on the highway. Come on. Classic David Lynch night on the highway. Yeah.
This is where the life of the mind really takes place. Yes. We've gone psychological, generally speaking. Yeah.
This is a good point to take a break. Oh boy. Okay. And once we've crossed over into the second part, into the Patreon, which everybody else could also cross over with us if you head on over to patreon.com slash kingmepod, sign up for $5 a month and you get the rest of these Twin Peaks episodes.
And then next week we're doing something different. So there's going to be more bonus content coming. Do you have a thrill seeking thirst for the unknown? This is the perfect time for you.
Yes, it is. Patreon.com slash kingmepod. We're going to cross over into that portal and keeping in the theme of the episode when we get of the Twin Peaks episode. So we're crossing over the portal and when we get back, I'm going to do a sex scene.
Oh shit. Just like the show. Well, if that's not enough for you guys, I don't know what is. Patreon.com slash kingme.
Legally, I think I have to say I'm not doing that because it's a false advertising and B. Oh, yeah. Not supposed to do that on Patreon, probably. What sex scenes?
Yeah. I think there are sex people on Patreon. Sex people. Well, sex workers of sorts.
All right. Well, we're going to go over to the Patreon. We'll sort this out. Snoop around and when we get back away.
All right. Patreon.com slash kingmepod. Bye guys.
