Twins' Twisted Plot to Cover-Up Double Kid Killing

On September 25, 2023, Samantha Peterson was driving high on methamphetamine in Spring Valley, Minnesota, when her SUV struck an Amish buggy, tragically killing two children. Following the fatal crash, Samantha contacted her identical twin sister, Sarah Peterson, and convinced her to trade places and falsely confess to being the driver to help Samantha evade responsibility. Law enforcement initially believed Sarah's fabricated story, but suspicious interactions captured on squad car dash cams and a recording device eventually raised their suspicions. Investigators later uncovered damning evidence, including incriminating text messages from Sarah's workplace and search history on Samantha's phone regarding fatal accidents and deleting data. Ultimately, blood tests confirmed Samantha was under the influence of drugs during the collision, leading to her guilty plea for criminal vehicular homicide and a sentence of probation and jail time.
