In the town of Columbus, Ohio, students at Ohio State University were excited about the partying days ahead – a break from the pressures and stresses of schoolwork. On the night of March 31st, medical student, Brian Shaffer, also decided to unwind. Brian was 27-years old with a bachelor’s degree in microbiology before he headed off to med school. He was in his second year and While the workload and exams were tough, Brian was also going through some personal grief. Just Weeks prior, he had lost his mother, Renee, to myelodysplasia – a rare and rapidly forming cancer that destroyed her body too fast. #2 Isaac ZamoraBefore 31-year old Isaac Zamora began his shooting rampage in Wahsingtons Skagit County, his parents held sitting vigils at various psychiatric clinics and state offices hoping to get someone to help assess their son’s mental health. When they finally succeeded, the psychiatrist told them he could offer a place to stay but said, “he’s got to act up before we can do anything.” The following day, on September 2, 2008, Isaac went on a shooting rampage killing his neighbors, a local Sheriff, injuring several others and leading police on a 16-mile chase along the highway.Support the show Learn more about your ad choices. I'm Patti and it's been said - many times - that I talk too much. I'm a teacher, author, nature lover and for ten years I owned a coffeehouse cafe where my faith in the goodness of humans was restored every day. This podcast highlights the awesomeness of humanity - er...outside the warmongers, globalists, tyrants and politicians in general. You know, the rest of us weird, quirky and sometimes hilarious humans. We'll talk woo, probe mysteries and leave you thinking about something more interesting or entertaining or uplifting than your grocery list, or boss or that oil change your car needs. I talk too much because I can't help my Gemini moon and Leo Rising nature. I do a podcast because it's cheaper, funnier and more productive than therapy.  EXPLORE WITH US Explore With Us If you love true crime and mysteries, you will love this podcast!
