She later expanded into acting, comedy, and writing for television.As a founding member of Toronto’s Obsidian Theatre Company, Satori helped launch Canada’s leading culturally diverse theatre. Since 2011, she’s captivated audiences worldwide as a Moth Mainstage storyteller and host, appearing on PBS, NPR, and top podcasts. She currently hosts Detroit Performs Live for Detroit PBS and emceed the 2024 Kresge Centennial, where President Obama gave the keynote.She is the founder and Executive Producer of The Secret Society of Twisted Storytellers®, and Executive Director of The Society for the Re-Institutionalization of Storytelling, using narrative to heal and connect communities. She facilitates storytelling workshops for Duke, University of Michigan, Detroit Zoo, and more, including national events addressing domestic violence.In 2018, she brought her platform to The Netherlands to address racism affecting refugees. A lifelong learner, Satori holds a degree from Wayne State and has trained at Second City and The Groundlings.
