Twisting into the skies
from Poetry by Tim Windisch · host Tim Windisch
Twisting into the skies It’s not much fun being lost in a whirl of mixed emotion When every time you look for calm you find commotion Daily grind, screwed up mind you just want to one day find Loves blind, chewing on a lemon rind, then you meet your kind You’re the one that makes tomorrow fun Long before any ballroom music has begun I’m dancing, and the music is in your eyes We leave on a dream twisting into the skies I ache for the sunlight to come upon me by your side The tomorrow we can play in seems to always hide Oh how I dread, my face turns red and I swear I’d rather be dead Tears I’ve bled, the shit in my head, I want those mornings instead You’re the one that makes tomorrow fun Long before any ballroom music has begun I’m dancing, and the music is in your eyes We leave on a dream twisting into the skies Burn the cages that are holding you in a world full of doubt Stomp your feet and scream until they have to let you out Don’t look back, it’s charred and black, defend yourself and attack You see the crack, you’ve got the knack, run babe and don’t look back You’re the one that makes tomorrow fun Long before any ballroom music has begun I’m dancing, and the music is in your eyes We leave on a dream twisting into the skies Wear your dancing shoes Never mind the blues We will dance you can’t resist Every day we can do the twist As we leave on a dream twisting into the skies Tim Windisch 11/29/2022
