Two Eagles Interpretive Trail

Located in the Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area, the Two Eagles Interpretive Trail is a short, flat, and paved path that winds past thousands of years of history. The trail passes by over 140 stone tipi rings, which Apsaalooke people used to hold down the edges of their tipis when camped in the area. Using radiocarbon dating, archaeologists have determined that the oldest of these rings dates from 700 C.E. Two Eagles is a place of rich history and cultural significance, and 12 interpretive signs provide a wealth of information along the quarter-mile loop. Photo by National Parks Service
