Two Meteor Showers This Week | Jacksonville News

Two faint meteor showers, the Alpha Capricornids and Southern Delta Aquarids, are peaking now—but don’t expect fireworks. A bright full moon and possible clouds make them tough to spot, especially for the already dim Aquarids. But don’t give up: the legendary Perseids are just around the corner, peaking August 12–13 with dazzling streaks and fireballs. If you’re in Florida, head to dark-sky spots like Kissimmee Prairie or Big Cypress, and stay up past midnight for the best view. The sky’s not done dazzling—just wait for the Perseids.
