Australian creatives and unions have welcomed the Prime Minister's speech on regulating artificial intelligence -- but the federal Greens say the plan won't deliver the protections Aussies have been asking for.During a major speech today Anthony Albanese announced a new "Office of AI", which will exist within his department -- and oversee the design of mandatory standards, including legal obligations for large-scale data centres.He also says under the standards, no company would be able to use use Australian books, music, art, or news to build or train AI without consent.WA has recorded two more presumed positive cases of H5 bird flu, in migratory seabirds found on the coast.If confirmed, they bring the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 15, with 9 found in WA.It comes as New Zealand records its first case of the deadly strain on a beach near the capital Wellington.and the US military has reimposed a blockade on Iranian ports - over its attacks on ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, sparked new strikes American bases in Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan.The US first imposed the blockade in mid-April and then lifted it in mid-June, a day after signing the interim deal that set a 60-day period for negotiations.But, talks have stalled as fighting over the strait has intensified.And for more news at any time you can follow the ABC Top Stories podcast.
