In which Louis, moved by a brother’s tender anxiety, seeks the intervention of the Bishop of Melchester to gently guide Viviette away from the shadows of her troubled past towards a brighter prospect. Through earnest discourse and the delicate weighing of propriety and compassion, the Bishop visits Viviette, and after thoughtful converse, she yields to a hopeful resolution, her long desolation somewhat relieved by the promise of immediate companionship.
