”Two Scrolls - The Gospel Story According to Luke” - w/ Tim Richards - Week 17

from Dungeness Community Church - VIDEO · host Dungeness Community Church

Pastor Tim continues The Two Scrolls series, looking at Luke 16:1-31.   SERMON QUESTIONS 1. Do you like movies about clever con jobs? If so, what is one of your favorites? Why do you think Jesus chose to teach a good lesson using a sneaking character (Luke 16:1-13)? 2. Thinking about the two parables Jesus told, what difference does it make if we view our resources as something we are entitled to or entrusted with? 3. In Luke 16:15, Jesus talks about something being an "abomination" in the sight of God. What does that word mean (feel free to grab a dictionary)? What is it that Jesus calls an abomination? Why? 4. Jesus seems to be warning some very smart people about their habit of justifying bad behavior. Have you ever caught yourself rationalizing or justifying something you knew wasn't right? If you're brave, share what it was and how you tried to convince yourself it was really okay.
