Two Types of Immersion

from The Silverfox

This week’s guests are Des Bishop, Irish American comedian, author and TV star, here for the Melbourne Comedy Festival and Tom Millington, spoken word poet and electronic, pop and roots musician. Des talks with Gillian about his fearless approach to stand up comedy, his current show Grey Matters and his TV shows where, through cultural immersion, he learnt two languages (Irish and Chinese) and did stand up comedy in both.  He’d like to do Arabic next – are you listening SBS? UK born Tom describes life on the Mornington Peninsula as going home to a holiday. He talks to Gillian about finding your art through immersion with parts of your soul, audience micro gestures, living musically in the moment and how to not take a lack of applause personally. He plays live in the studio, tracks from his EP Being, as well as a brand new song Ain’t No Shame. The post Two Types of Immersion appeared first on The Silverfox.
