Two Ways To Survive A Party — EP8
from Cosecha Salvaje: Wild Conversations Hosted by Vivian Esterhuizen
There’s a version of partying where you danced with strangers without a second thought. There’s another version where you can’t remember the last time you talked to someone you didn’t already know. Vivian grew up in the first one, in Bogotá. Tiaan watched the second one become the norm, in South Africa. Vivian doesn’t count it as a real party unless she danced. Tiaan doesn’t need to dance — he just needs to survive the night with the people he came with. Neither thinks the other’s version sounds like fun. Underneath the debate about drinking styles is a harder question about who gets to feel safe in a room full of strangers, and who doesn’t anymore. By the end, Tiaan says something about crowds that Vivian clearly wasn’t expecting. Cosecha Salvaje: Wild Conversations is Vivian (Colombian) and Tiaan (South African) arguing their way through the things people usually keep to themselves.
