TWR 176: Healing Your Relationship with Food: A Guide to Mindful Eating

from The Divorce Revolution · host Amber Shaw

Do you find yourself constantly thinking about what you should and shouldn't eat? Do you feel guilty or ashamed after indulging in your favorite foods? If so, you may have a poor relationship with food. In this episode of The Wellness Revolution Podcast, Amber explores the signs of a poor food relationship and how to heal it through mindful eating. One of the biggest signs of a poor relationship with food is the belief in a "good" and "bad" food list. This mentality can lead to a constant internal dialogue of restriction and guilt. However, food is neutral and should not be demonized. By adopting the mantra of "I'm a grown-ass woman, there are no good or bad foods," you can take back your power and make mindful decisions about what you eat. Healing your relationship with food is the key to consistency and achieving your health and wellness goals. According to Amber, 95% of the time, the reason why women cannot stay consistent with their health and wellness goals is because of their relationship with food. One of the key takeaways from this episode is the importance of adopting a mindset of self-empowerment when it comes to food. Instead of feeling restricted and deprived, remind yourself that you can make your own food choices. This can help decrease the urge to overindulge and lead to a more balanced approach to eating. Quote from the episode: "Being able to taste everything, but binge on nothing. That's the ultimate goal of where we wanna get you. Let go of the all-or-nothing mentality and mindfully indulge in what you crave. Healing your relationship with food is the key to creating a sustainable healthy lifestyle." -Amber Shaw Episode Resources Join the FREE Consistency Challenge here!
