U.S. Central Command says the U.S. military carried out ‘self-defense strikes’ in southern Iran on Monday. They say the strikes targeted Iranian missile launch sites and were intended to protect U.S. troops from threats posed by Iranian forces. President Trump also saying that negotiations with Iran are progressing, and he’s now looking to turn a potential deal into a broader Middle East peace push, urging them to join the Abraham Accords, and calling on countries including Saudi Arabia and Qatar to normalize ties with Israel.Texas will be holding several run-off elections on Tuesday, where voters will finalize their chosen nominees for key congressional races. The most watched race will be the Republican primary for U.S. Senate between Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and incumbent Senator John Cornyn. There will also be a Democrat primary in the 18th district between Congressman Al Green and Representative Christian Menefee. Texas will also be choosing a new attorney general this cycle, with a runoff on the Republican side between Congressman Chip Roy and State Senator Mayes Middleton.The New York Knicks are in the NBA finals, after beating out the Cleveland Cavaliers 130-93, in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals. This is the first time the Knicks have advanced to the Championships since 1999. The Knicks’ Jalen Brunson was named series MVP for averaging 25.5 points and nearly eight assists. The Knicks have outscored their opponents by 262 points during their winning streak, the most dominant span in league history, playoffs or regular season.
