The U.S. Small Business Administration has issued a disaster declaration for the excessive rainfall July 2nd through the 4th that hit Cook, DeKalb, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, and McHenry counties. That means people in those areas can apply for low-interest loans for storm expenses not fully covered by insurance. Applications for physical property damage are due October 5th, 2026. Economic injury applications are due May 5th, 2027. More information is available online at sba.gov/disaster.
