U.S. Strikes Iranian Oil Tankers | Spokane News

U.S. forces struck five Iranian oil tankers in retaliation for failed missile attacks on U.S. Navy ships — no American casualties, crews safely evacuated. This follows a similar strike on three other tankers earlier this week. Secretary Rubio warned Iran: more strikes if they target U.S. vessels. The conflict underscores Washington’s pivot from direct combat to economic pressure. Explosions near Iran’s Kharg Island spiked oil prices; Tehran claims capture of a faulty U.S. drone. Meanwhile, Iran negotiates with Oman to reopen the Strait of Hormuz — possibly with tolls — while the U.S. blocks its oil exports and combats Iranian missile threats to shipping lanes.
