Music is a demanding industry to crack. It’s competitive, and making a career from it may seem impossible to reach for many. Black Indigenous and people of colour in the live music industry face the typical challenges while dealing with racism and discrimination. The Closing The Gap research study by the Canadian Live Music Association was undertaken to examine these barriers that impede the participation of BIPOC folks.
