U488 - die vorletzte “Milchkuh”

Die U-Boot Klasse XIV nannte man liebevoll "Milchkühe" weil ihre Aufgabe im U-Boot-Krieg Nazi-Deutschlands die Versorgung anderer, leichterer Boote war. U488 war das letzte Boot, das so genutzt wurde. Danach galt diese Taktik als gescheitert.
