UC Riverside SCOTTY Awards Shine

UC Riverside’s SCOTTY Awards returned in person for the first time since 2019, honoring 14 student-athletes from the 2025-26 season with a night of celebration, grit, and heart. New awards like Fan of the Year and Student Worker of the Year expanded recognition beyond the field, while the renamed Kyle Owens Heart of a Highlander Award — presented by his grandparents — honored his legacy with deep emotion. Standouts included Makena Tong and Mika Kosch for rehab resilience, Jaxon Byrd and Sarah Mahfoud for strength training dedication, and Hannah Wickstrom and Andrew Henderson crowned Female and Male Athlete of the Year — a tribute to the unwavering spirit of UC Riverside’s student-athletes.
