In February of 1978, the University of California, Irvine named Linda Dempsay as its director of athletics – the first woman ever to lead an NCAA Division I athletic program. At the time, she was only 39 years old. Now Dempsay is 84 years old. Host Cara Capuano met Dempsay during a session of Rams Training Camp on campus and talked her into sharing her experiences with the UCI Podcast.
