That's what we were just talking about. You said you could pull that one up on iTunes. Get us a look for the podcast. Do we could be funny?

I have a Requiem by Mozart that we could listen to, which is basically a funeral dirge more or less. And it's brilliant. Yeah, that doesn't really help us. It's getting the mood for JAG.

Oh, I mean, there was a danger zone. I do have that on vinyl, actually. Really? We should totally listen to that, dude.

Yes, that would be awesome. Speaking of danger zone and the original Top Gun, have you seen the previews to the new one? I have seen the previews. It does.

Terrible. Really? I'm not even gonna waste my time. No.

I'm not even gonna do it. Chris hasn't really been in a whole lot of bad movies. Yeah, dude. You think this one's gonna be bad, huh?

Well, I just, I mean, come on. You can't, you sometimes you just can't do a sequel. You just shouldn't do a sequel. Well, if it's good, the first one was so good.

You're not gonna be better than that. It's about drones, dude. Drones. So they're not gonna fly anything?

Well, I think he's gonna get an F-35. Well, F-35 just this week was all over the news, operating off aircraft carriers. Yeah, yeah, it is. It's the C model.

Yeah. It's pretty cool. So, I mean, there's nothing too far-fetched about that. Well, no, I mean, the F-35 is okay.

But it's just the whole story. I mean, what are you gonna do? You don't have goose anymore. You can't pull at the heartstrings.

I don't know if Tom Scarro's coming back for this movie. I hope he does. But in a way, I hope he doesn't. I mean, I want the movie to be a success, but I don't.

I'm afraid for the franchise and the legacy. There's not much of a franchise. Well, no, there's a legacy, though. Well, only to our memories of 1986 or whatever.

Did you see? So Japan just graduated their first female fighter pilot. And you know what she said in an interview that was her inspiration for becoming a fighter pilot? No, no idea.

Was the movie Top Gun. That's what she said. She is with a jazzist now. The Japanese Defense Air Force is.

Yeah, as a fighter pilot. What is she? Fast F-15s. Strike Eagles, actually.

Strike Eagles, I believe. Yeah, they fly him out of a, nah, airbase. Did you study that? Nah, no, it's called nah, nah, air.

Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah. No, like nah, nah, nah. Nah, nah, nah. I believe it is the E model because, she doesn't have a, she doesn't have a back cedar.

She's just her. Well, that's a C-model. Well, then it's a C-model. I don't know.

It's a damn F-15, dude. It's a big difference. One's there to air and one's there. Oh yeah, Strike Eagle does have a back cedar.

Yeah. Is it not? Yeah, she does not have the back cedar. So she must be a C-model girl.

Either way, it's badass. Yeah. And good honor. And good honor to pan.

Because they had said no women fighter pilots. And then they said, okay, we'll let you do it. And she's the first. Yeah, good for them.

Yeah. That's good news. Yeah, it is. But I don't know on the top gun thing.

I'm not sold. No, it's going to be fine. I can't handle it. Tom Cruise, like I said, has a bit of a lot of bad movies.

Most of them are pretty entertaining. I'm glad you have a lot of insight into that. Well, no, but I mean, I work with people. They go to those movies all the time.

So I often hear reviews. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Ray, or otherwise.

Yeah, I heard he was good too. Okay, well, good. We're both talking about some movies that we haven't seen. We haven't seen and they'll plan on going to see.

Oh, this is why we have. Here's our second hand film review. Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for. No, I was just telling you about the Mr.

Rogers movie I saw. I love that one. Yeah. Won't you be my neighbor?

It was great. Tears. Land of make believe. Yeah.

What else have I seen? I haven't seen that. I haven't seen that. I haven't seen that.

I haven't seen that. I haven't seen that. It's so good. Almost a decade.

Yeah, I had forgot. I had remembered the end, but I hadn't remembered the end, or I didn't pick up on the end the first time I saw it because when I rewatched it all these years later and I saw the end, I like what I'm like, oh, I mean, I thought I knew, but now I really know. I don't think anyone knows what you're talking about. Well, shut her island.

Give it a try. It's good. Yeah. Well, I might again.

You should again. I think you would really like it. I know you would. It's one of those movies that you like.

And that's the way I do it. Well, let's think about this one. It's disturbing, but very good. Well, I'm glad.

Let's get it here. Yeah. Is that free on Netflix or anything? It is.

Oh, okay. Well, maybe I will say. Yeah, I'll just do it. I just watched it.

I'm doing it. What the hell did you think I watched it? Well, medium when I watched it. I'm not going to pay $15 for a movie that's 10 years old now.

Well, No, but I can get it for free. I'm the only one I did. I didn't mention this. You just said I watched it.

I was like. I mean, was it on TV? No. Does anybody really get those anymore?

HBO? HBO for the final season of GOT. We'll see. After that, I don't want to know.

Do you know I couldn't name a single character on that show. I've not ever watched it. It doesn't matter. So Mom told me.

She said, don't watch it. I have the entire box set and I will buy the last season and then you can just binge watch the whole thing. So that's what I decided I'll do. Yeah, it's well done.

I think you plan. Yeah, I mean, I know a lot of people that watch it. Yeah, it's fun. It reminds me of the Golden Era when Sopranos was out and people would have watching parties for the Sopranos and they kind of do the same thing with Game of Thrones.

Nice. Nice. I like television shows that bring people together. And I think they're going to bring some sort of prequel to the show.

Like from... You gotta be careful. Not in the fantasy, though. Oh.

Because this is like people that have been around for thousands of years. So in theory, there's all kinds of stories in there. Yeah, I know. But then you sort of go to the well too many times, I think, and you kind of burn out the franchise.

We were just talking about that too with Star Wars. Yeah. And you're a newfound hatred of the franchise. I don't hate it.

I've just turned off as of... I mean, I still have my love for the first... I'm a little upset because we all went to that movie together. It's like the only movie we've gone to in the theater together.

It was so bad. I loved it. That was so good. Oh, the one part you hated, I thought was Okey as well.

I hated a lot of other movies. But you gotta get over that. Really? Yeah, I did.

I did. So I got to make it clear, though, I still have... I will always have a love for the first three movies. Oh, of course.

Yeah. Doesn't get any better than that. And... But the whole direction that they're going in with what they're doing now, I have no interest in.

So it just brings me down, it makes me sad. Oh, no. Oh, gosh. We gotta uplift you.

What's up about Jack? Jack? Jack? Oh, yeah.

We have a podcast about it, actually. Jack? Okay. Then we talk for the first 20 minutes about movies that we haven't seen.

Yeah, or plan on seeing. Never plan on seeing. You know how I knew this was going to be a great episode of Jack? I don't know.

Yes. Yes. Because it makes Harry was poopy again? No.

Although we're here to look good. Terry O'Quinn was in this one. Yeah, well, I freaking love him. He's a call back.

Oh, God. He's like, I'm sorry. He's good. Yeah, he's awesome.

He's awesome in anything. He's in. He's a great actor. And you love to love him on Jack.

Yeah. He's a kind of an edgy guy. But I... Yeah.

Oh, man! That's great. Yeah. That's just a big deal though.

Yeah. I don't know anything about the Navy, and I don't know anything about flying off an aircraft area, but I imagine you need someone that's squared away. Yeah. Totally.

To be in that kind of a job and be in charge of dudes that fly off that ship. Oh man, he was awesome. I love him. As soon as the opening scene, when we see him fly in the F-14, I'm like, oh, sweet, Terry O'Quinn.

So I know it's going to at least be a Sea episode. Yeah. Well, it will be at least a Sea because Terry O'Quinn's in it. Yeah.

And if I, you know, as a now civilian, I always hope that the people in those planes are just like loves what they do and principal loyal all that yeah he was great plays an amazing character on the show I did want to ask you since your research extraordinary the guy that was the cags wizzo has been in something else the redhead He spoke with a horrible southern draw in this episode I don't know I don't remember what he might have been in except I think he might have been in the first in the pilot episode as well Because they had yeah all those groups yeah Got shot down not the redhead guy yeah, right. I know but painter was back Folks on the sea hawk and I was back to get to know But which was interesting it was good actually I didn't need a seat. Oh come on you but was never an endearing character for me That's not what you used to say no I Never said I liked but Fumbling kind of nerdy goofy guy married to a woman who was always crying that's always pregnant. That's always pregnant.

She was They were like the rabbits a jag well They had to have kind of a kid element in their family element I guess to a certain extent yeah, I suppose so So they did I kind of felt like it I actually as much as Harriet cried all the time I did sort of like her character, but but I just never really I never really I could have Remember when we used to watch it back in the day. I know you really having such an adverse reaction, but maybe it's I don't know I don't know we'll see maybe watching it a second time through the entire series I'll learn to love him again. Maybe anyway You want me to introduce the episode you want to do it? No, please three pages of notes to my two Well, you may have a little more let's go ahead with you Okay, well augment or complement with any as as needed complement with an E yeah as opposed to an I as opposed to an I Compliment with an I okay, I would compliment your notes.

I would but I would compliment them with my notes Okay Opening scene Terriok win is in a two ship. You know what a two ship is Josh. I do great So for our listeners just to a 14 swine. He's in the lead bird.

He's the Kagg and one of the um they're going into the no-fly zone over Bosnia at the time and they're gonna try to bug out this helicopter this What was it a Bosnia Serbian? It was a Serbian hind and a helicopter They're trying to get it out of the no-fly zone by kind of scaring him a little bit And so the cat goes down there to go chase this little hind away And while the Kagg is busy doing that his wingman painter and whistleblower whistle Whistler Whistler like the ski resort right Whistler now I'll never forget thanks. So Whistler and painter who you'll remember from the she-wolf episode Who could forget the she-wolf episode? I can't I love it.

I mean what a way to inaugurate a series It really was great anyway, painter and Whistler are hanging back, but oh, oh no They have engine trouble and they have to eject eject eject eject so they eject out of the aircraft the Kagg Then comes back around Notices or thinks something gives him the impression that the hind helicopter that he was trying to chase out of no-fly zone is Trying to shoot at the ejecting pilots and a pilot in his Rio. We call that an air crew sure And I thought a crew would be well sure I suppose so I was thinking of a crew as being more than I like a V-17 You know, you got like 10 guys. This is too. This is too.

Not that they're not a crew. This is the air crew fine Anyway, so the cat goes back He thinks that the hind is shooting at these guys that have just tried to eject out of their aircraft So what does the Kagg do shoots down the hind? Helicopter he blows it up. He takes it out.

Same is shooting it down. He does blow it up. Anyway, that's the opening scene And then we go into the music and then where do we end up next? But the worst guy in the history of casting commander Lindsey at JAG headquarters and apparently he's the new guy in charge at JAG headquarters Well, they have never replaced that original Admiral right but I mean Lindsey's a commander.

Yeah, you're JAG headquarters It's really frightening that you would have a commander in charge. Yeah, well I mean, I know a lot of capable commanders But he never has struck me as one of those no not at all. He's he's creepy. He really hasn't creepified yet But he's definitely yeah, he's an odd duck.

Yeah, I'll give you that anyway He's watching the news Megan harm or in his office. So they're all kind of watching the news There's no information on the pilot or the Rio the Serbs say that the hind was approaching the area to render assistance We know from watching the episode now that the Kagg believes that The hind was firing on those guys which then gave him the right to fire on the hind and destroy it So the problem is that there's kind of a ceasefire going on and now There's you know tensions are raised because there's two different Interpretations of what went down in the skies over Bosnia But at the end of the scene it's kind of fun to note that Harmon wrap finally gets promoted Yeah, I remember a couple episodes ago in boot he had already been promoted Yeah, and so they aired these things Do you know in the time that I've been working where I've been working I have seen two guys get fraught Young guys well now for those that aren't familiar with that term that does not mean It's not a derivation of the other f-word right no no no I mean it's not like I Know that guy frock me over. It's not like that. No, it's not but anyway I just say I mean promotion seem to happen just willy-nilly and then I really know really you know Well, I mean it's kind of cool because if you get in a position in a but they didn't frock rap So I don't know what you're complaining.

No, I'm complaining I don't even really have a problem with frocking although the ceremony for rap was somewhat the cigars just like hey Here's a cigar and Meg is a big she's what did that come from no no no she liked raped him no well I guess in naval parlance Maybe well, I mean she said the hands around him the the huge kiss was like wow you're really that's really I mean One of my friends promoted it So I bet it was because people on you know in the civilian world probably would have no conception of how big a video that actually is And so they don't have time to like do a formal promotion ceremony like they would in the real world So they can show people hey, this is really a big deal by Meg completely busting protocol given him a big kiss Etc. Now. We're on our way our way. So that's what I that's why I think they're Frocking funny though because you know the thing with frocking you get to wear the rank, but you don't get paid for the rank That's the thing with a rock.

Why do you bring that back up cuz he didn't get I know I know I'm sorry. I mean I'm gonna get frocked. I haven't made me a frocked later Yeah, I thought you said they didn't you've seen the entire series you should know yeah, no they did no frocking no frocking Okay, all right well Rocking anyway in this episode he was straight up promoted by the secretary of the Navy so congratulations to lieutenant commander Harman Rabb and that's really how the the episode gets going we go back so next scene we're back in Bosnia We're with the Rio now who painter who we saw again in the she-wolf episode previous to way previous first episode I think anyway He's hanging from a tree precariously by his parachute and his various rigging and he unclips himself He's injured in the leg So we know that at least he survived we still don't know what the situation is with the pilot and I was gonna ask you about the Scott Oh greaty thing you remember Scott O'Grady. Yeah, was this around the same period because this guy seemed to kind of fumble with I'm sure it was probably around the same same time frame Yeah, I don't know for sure I know cuz Scott O'Grady took a lot of crap from the air force community about everything he did wrong Yeah, well, I don't know I mean I'm not a pilot.

I couldn't say if he did things wrong or right But anyway, I was just curious if that if that incident perhaps inspired events in this They probably did I'm sure Anyway, so we know that the the Rio survived and then we cut to the USSC Hawk somewhere in the Adriatic Harmon Meg of course coming on board on the We call those those funky helicopters that the Marine Corps uses the sea stallions I was gonna call it a scallion. Don't you think a scallion would be a better? I think it'd be funny Or well, I mean it's a thing of the sea Stallions I know there's not so when they decided I was like oh, it's a scallion isn't that cute? They like shellfish, but that's not what it is.

It's a sea stallion Anyway, Harmon Meg come aboard we see the cast of characters from the sea hawk that we've grown to know in love including the captain and There's kind of this cheesy scene But I sort of liked it where harm is watching these F15 or F14 fly off the deck of the carrier and kind of maneuver around the deck And he's you can tell that there's a part of him. It's like man I all I want to do is fly those dog on Jets and I do anything to fly those Jets and while I'm sort of happy being a lawyer It's not it's not everything that I want it to be So there's that moment the life that could have been yeah, and he goes on and on with the chief about how Yeah, that's a little drawn out. Yeah, you know pizza I don't think he said the restroom, but I'm sure I'm sure he thinks about being a pilot all the time because that's what he does Anyway, break scene where with Harmon Meg they meet the Kagg they meet his Rio remember These guys all have history from the she wolf episode painters back Cag you know the interview them separately Cags talking to harm The Rio Cags Rio is talking to Meg and they kind of split the scenes back and forth So the Cag basically says hey, we never lost sight of the hind I know what I saw and I know what I did when I fired at the hind I know it was justified and I you know no regrets the Rio tells Meg essentially the same story he was watching the high in the whole time And he saw it shoot at those parachutes and the Cag says hey when I saw that hind shooting in my guys I absolutely open up on the hind cut to next scene the bridge We finally find out that the pilot of the downed aircraft Whistler is dead. So we've got one missing crewman.

That would be painter No, well, yeah, yeah, do you have a problem with my report so far? No, actually because I mean all you do is do your technical You know fixes I feel so you don't listen anything I was trying to look up. I was trying to look up Scott Oh great. Oh, we could do that.

Oh yeah, it was shot down in June of 95 So this is about the right time it was 96 at the beginning of 96. So it was probably filmed No kidding in the summer 95. It's been that long. Yeah, I've been a long time Oh my god, yeah another example of how JAG was emulating real world.

Yeah, yeah, you know, but they didn't make Whistler they are Painter they didn't make him look like he did anything at all wrong. I mean well they did Fumbled he walked around his radio like It was bright orange or orange or whatever it was no I mean that's what he was like right next to the enemy encampment. I'm like what yeah, but when they threw in the bone Best place would be to hide right next to the bad guys dark and I mean they're on horseback They're hardly a modern kind of what what did he have a busted leg and he's crawl I said gassed so anyway, those are the two things I would say maybe he should improve upon for his next shoot down Okay, okay, so At any rate the KAG is order to go to Naples for a court martial trial. It is about to begin So yeah, I mean the State Department's really upset here And they really want to see KAG kind of just take the fall for this because they don't want to see it all out They don't want to see tensions real political situations here.

You're right. So they're well We'll get to it, but anyway, prosecuting attorney. We find his commander Credit credit credit. Yeah, I had a problem with her.

Well the word go you're gonna have a problem for another few I don't even know where to start with this woman. What do you mean? Her was crazy crazy where do we start first the red? Haircut she had it in the worst haircut of anybody the worst and she was good.

She looks extremely flirtatious With harm and that does not stop in future I was incredibly unprofessional. I mean really it gets worse You have to almost you have to have watched this episode because I can't really explain that's because she's so good at what she does She's not why do you always stand up for these characters? I look I believe in powerful female characters and credit is one of them I don't see her as I mean powerful I suppose but She is all of the Navy yeah, but hard yeah, but hard to do this case indicate that she had a bit of a past Which they never really got into in this episode. So in a way, I'm hoping we learn more about her in future episodes.

Oh you will When you say that don't look at me like that. There's nothing that happens that's that I would be upset about Credit and Jag headquarters have a date in the future Yeah, she's she's brutal though and cruel, but she's like a She's a prosecutor in the grass. You're supposed to be No, why is she flirting with harm like stay away? You're a lawyer and you're not a good boy.

Oh She was a good lawyer. I just thought I just didn't like her character at all and why do they make her hair? She just looked evil but somehow alluring to harm Yeah, there was some back and forth there. Yeah, I'm not really sure what it meant, but I really hope that he doesn't go after her You'll see I hope I don't so So commander crenic you said crenic she at the get go she offers a deal to the cat Well, yeah, I really like the writing actually in that particular scene because I just enjoyed harming like well hypothetically I wouldn't accept it, but hypothetically what would that be?

And she's like hey, he needs to take the fall he needs to resign say that he made a bad call and Or Marshall goes away and everything will go away and there's not gonna be an international incident anymore We can move at the State Department guys will be happy the Navy will be happy. He's a cat then he can retire It's no big deal not gonna hurt him, but the cat has a lot of pride and there's no way in hell. Well, let's he believes he's right Well, he is right. So I mean hence the pride thing, but he's not gonna go down without a fight Yeah, so he makes that very clear There's a short little scene they cut to with painter who's being thrown the bone It's really just to let us know that he's still alive There's really no other point to that scene so we go back to Jag headquarters in Naples And we find the State Department guys are sitting in on the trial which is a little bit intimidating because we all know what their agenda is crenic has the honor of opening comments and she just I Mean immediately we see that she's she's kind of a bulldog in the courtroom She calls her first witness commander Dua.

He's the forensic pathologist the guy that did the autopsy on the pilot I don't really know how they got the pilot back, but somehow they did they never really got into it And so she's talking to the pilot or she's talking to the forensic pathologist and he's going over the causes of death for lieutenant And whistle the pilot and multiple traumas a lot of burns across his body a lot of internal injuries and and she says oh So there's no evidence of bullet wounds is that what you're saying doctor and the doctor says no there really isn't So that sucks because we're hoping for the sake of the Kagg that they can find bullet wounds at least in the planer in the guy Or you know something to prove that these guys were being shot at which would then justify the Kagg's actions harm then has to take over and he says Okay, doctor, so significant injuries, you know Is there a possibility that because there were such extensive wounds that you would maybe miss a bullet or maybe two bullets or three? And she the prosecutor objection oh and arms like whatever Okay, the prosecutor's like we'll put a number on it and arms like alright alright fine Is there a possibility that in the course of your autopsy because of the damage to the body There could have been at least two bullets that could have killed gone into his body and threw it that you would not would not leave Any evidence and the forensic pathologist says yes, so they kind of get a break Um Commander Kendrick talks to the Kagg after the court do you have something to add? I don't I mean I'm going through this pretty quick. Yeah, you're kind of jamming through it Well, I mean my impression my impression was that harm kind of took the victory in that first engagement with a credit Credit set it up pretty well.

He definitely opened it up But reasonable doubt if nothing else that it ended a draw so she didn't win like he but in my mind He actually pulled ahead and actually I think so right because I'm going for his ring That's what I would expect from harm because he's a really good lawyer Course of course of course, I mean he's the best at everything exactly that's why they use him for what they use him for later in this episode Oh, thank God, you know you have Navy seals, but you don't need them. Well, they all died. There was nobody left You don't need him send the lawyer. So did you have something else to add?

That was it for that part so Craig is yeah, she's gonna go outside Yeah, she's gonna she's gonna follow harm and Meg and and captain Boone a K Kagg and she's like I wanna talk to the Kagg No, well first was the press guy first now he had come up a little earlier before the court scene mr. Fake news. Yeah Chuck yeah, yeah, I'll chuck fake news to Paul again from from the she wolf episode Yeah again from the scene of episode It's great, and but I don't know if what he said offered anything. That's why I didn't interrupt you Well, he has some scenes whatever that Meg was interested in but nothing ever really came up Well because he caught the hind yeah blowing up getting exploded and Meg well I guess so Meg was like well Did you get anything else Meg's like you know I can take certain things off to to get more information about what you have and that's When Kagg flipped well because I was only disrespected by you Like dude all she was gonna do is get see whatever she could do to get the footage see whatever she could do Get the footage because Meg Meg was kind of like the way I interpreted it was that Meg would have done almost anything Yeah, I mean I had to admit warrants cherry pie song started in my brain when she was starting to talk about that kind of stuff She's my cherry pie.

Yeah, like cool drink of water such a sweet surprise why because that's kind of a stripper song What so is it really yeah? So she's got to push it a little bit there she was well she was Because the truck was like well Maybe I think he made some comment about dinner or maybe dinner or you knew that was coming and that's when Kagg lost He was basically Harvey Weinstein her So yeah, I mean Kagg was done. You don't disrespect the uniform absolutely not even though she really wasn't doing it She was just trying to get as close to that information as she could help him out. She was I wonder how far she would have gone I don't know I don't know I don't know I don't know apparently thought she would have gone all the way Yeah, that's what he thought anyway.

Yeah, that didn't really offer a lot to it But it did it did kind of give us a indication of the Kagg's Sensitive yeah, yeah, he's like the Klingon of Jagg yeah, he is I love Terry Quinn But yeah, so they meet up after court and Kagg wants to meet her chronic wants to meet with Kagg separately and Rob's like no Sir don't do it. Don't do it. And he's like, oh damn. Well do what I want.

I'm the freaking Kagg So he goes and meets with this chronic lady and I think at that point isn't that the point where she says really you really should resign I mean, yeah, she's actually saying no well what she does is she's like hey look the Serbs we got reports are massing on the border And so the people that are gonna end up in a shooting war are the people that you fly with so you could spare it potentially spare everyone all this pain and heartache and Their lives and whatever if you just you know admit to all this and then they'll go away and hopefully diffuse all the situation And so he's like I'll sleep on it instead of giving her like a flat out now Yeah, well because at the end of the day he wants to do whatever's best for the Navy Yeah, he wants to do whatever's best for the Navy and his his men Absolutely, but he does have that I mean he knows what he did He knows in his heart of hearts that what he did was the right thing to do So the next scene is kind of fun between him and harm on the old balcony with the Roosevelt in the port yeah, and they're just talking just man talk over cigars and and Harms like well, what did what did krenic talk to you about anyway and And he tells him what she said and he's basically like yeah, I'm gonna fight this one well Harms like hey dude. Don't give up. Yeah, he's like he's she's only approaching you with that angle because she's scared She's gonna lose and so keep that in mind. Let me let me think this through for you.

Yeah help guide you here You know lean on me. Yeah, I'll be your guy is I'm the lawyer I'll be your guy And I've got your back till I'm not because I have to go do it Well, we'll get to that dude. We'll get to that so next we're back in the courtroom again It was nice to be in the courtroom wasn't it? You know, it's interesting that you say that because this is the only episode in the harm and Meg era Where they actually are in the courtroom doing courtroom stuff together.

There's the only episode Really? That's kind of a shame because I really enjoy the court. Well, yeah, we talked about that like last time with signings It's like I don't know what this episode was but it wasn't that great of a jag episode It could have been any characters doing that and but yeah This is the only one in this little first season this whole era that they are actually in the courtroom together doing courtroom Yeah, lawyer funny too because it was probably the best episode right so far right because they were actually doing what they Did think of this think of this we saw a lot more of the courtroom later on in the series, but not here So interesting point about the show so back in the courtroom again cags Rio is now testifying Credit tears him apart I mean She's just like dude How could you be doing a 9g turn and still be keeping an eye on the hind on your starboard side and also the parachute on your port side? Like that you can't do that so what gives and so that wasn't good that was a well She's basically like, you know what probably happened as you were Hypoxic from that and so, you know, many things that happen to people when they're hypoxic They elucidate and so you think you saw what you saw but you didn't really see what you saw and that actually becomes kind of the crux of her I don't think she really even ever needed to go with that second part of that argument that whole hypoxia thing I don't buy it she had me already at the you can't see out both sides of the plane Yeah, she probably didn't need it But what she does is she uses that later to do the same thing to the tag he testified like hey Just like we talked about earlier, you know the fact that you were Shot down in non by an Air Force guy.

Yeah, what's kind of funny? Yeah, I actually really loved I really loved it when the cactick I love the cag the whole episode I really loved it when he took the stand and She's like let's go back. Have you ever been shot down before and he says yeah 14 to 1967 I was shot down and she says well you know tell me about it And he said well, it's the friendly fire thing and she's like really friendly fire. Well, it was an Air Force pilot It was great.

It was great. It was funny And anyway, even the court well some of them left. Yeah, not not all of them Man, there's a thunderstorm out here. It's so lagging here through my headphones.

Yeah, I can hear it. It's really loud Producer Kara is just like oh my gosh She's all into it. Yeah sitting next to unicorn with wings on a panda. Yeah, apparently that's a candy unicorn over seer these days But anyway So it's you're right I mean she takes the same approach with the Kagg and she says I believe your mind told you that the hyen was firing and You were wrong.

She just lays it out. You know and the thing is is so I've had a I got a couple incentive flights in my time a couple You have more than one. Yeah, and uh, yeah, and uh On what's on an F16 to on an F16? Yeah, and um, but so the first one the first one I had we um They were gonna do a practice just because I was in there didn't mean anything to them They were gonna have a practice air-to-air battle out.

Yeah, we were flying out of England and so they were out over the water. Yeah, and So I'll never forget this because it totally sucked as a passenger who had never been in a fighter plane before and so we go out over the the golfer wherever we were I guess it would be the gold and So we're flying around and so all of a sudden, you know, you hear fights on yeah and that just means good God you're gonna get rocked all over the place and So yeah, sure enough he starts yanking and banking and doing everything pilots do and I remember a couple of things about this I remember first of all when we're in these high G turns we do a lot of in an aerial engagement and He's just looking around like it's nothing I know nothing going on and you know, whereas I'm sitting here with this continual repetitive like a broken record in my mind Don't throw up don't throw up don't throw up and so the other thing I remember is he pulled a really hard sustained High G turn and I totally remember the The black I'm outside in I totally remember I'm like I'm gonna go out, you know Once the whole world turns a black I'll be gone Yeah, and it was just I can remember it still to this day seeing this aperture just close close close and black black And then he started to let up and the world opened back up again But so I don't know about it, you know, obviously an experienced person probably experiences that different But I could see how being in a and that was when we landed he was like dude you pulled like a eight points on G turn That's pretty good that you didn't lose it during that because most people would have yeah, you know, and so I could see I mean I thought that argument was actually pretty good based on my experience as a total Mounter You know sitting in the back seat during one of those maneuvers like I don't see you know Like I said the pilot was like still like it was nothing was going on. Yeah, but for me It was like yeah, okay. I could see how cool is that?

Did you turn the AC all the way up? I did I'm sure I did everything going all the air I could get everything I could possibly get to keep from You know, the thing is though you don't want to lose it in the plane But like it ruins your whole day if you don't because the whole rest of the day This was in the morning mission and the whole rest of the day I just felt like I needed to throw up like you're hungover Oh wow, and it took like hours to kind of finally get over that feeling and to feel kind of like good again Do you know what I did after mine? I got out and I was on this high because it was so much fun And I drove home and I passed out. I was so tired like my muscles everything hurt because you know you're contracting and I was exhausted I just remember just being I just slept on the couch for hours But it certainly does make you respect the hell out of those guys that do that on a daily basis So kudos to them anyway next scene where dinner with Rob Meg and Kagg were talking about how rough it is with the trial because old a krenick was just tearing people up and We hear that the rescue mission because old Chuck comes in and breaks up at the dinner party Yes, there's a not very many restaurants in Naples to go to because Chuck shows up at the same restaurant there And he's like well, he's like TMZ I know where everything's gonna be going down.

Well, what's funny is he does yeah, he does he always is Yeah, head of the action. Yeah, and he says he tells him Hey, the rescue mission for painter is on pause Until this court martial things over with and Kagg is just taste so mad I'm gonna go talk to the skipper of the sea wolf and we're gonna get to see her seat Yes, all right, she wolf see Hawk. I'm gonna go talk to him I gotta get his head on straight cuz he's not going about this the right way and harm's like no you can't do it You're being gourd marshaled, so he's gonna do it. Well, I don't know who's left so arms like I'll do it I'll go yeah, it's like screw the case kind of make your insurance screw you in a way kind of what it was like Because Meg's like dude, I can't make you got the stick and you know good on it and she's like I can't do it You're my guy and now you're walking out.

He's like Meg you gotta be a man at some point well The Kagg's like mega fired Overflight in the sea stallion before you know it hard Hark goes out to the to the sea hawk gets on the sea stallion helicopter well hold on so before this scene you have to click your suspend Belief button. Yeah, this is where everything else up to this point made sense. It was pretty straightforward This is where off the rails. They're like okay now Tom Cruise time it was so hokey though because they have Marines on the ship.

They've got guys that are trained in search of rescue They really don't need a lawyer doing this There's he has absolutely no reason to be doing this but they're gonna send him in alone They're gonna fly him in in the dead of night. He is going to jump from the helicopter Just because they can pick up the beacon that old painter has and So there's harm all guess it up in his little combat paint and his little We call this little hat. I usually like Robert hats. No, it's cool cats And his little camouflage anyway jumps in it's not long and he finds painter and it becomes the hero of the day Which harm can be a hero in the courtroom?

We really don't need a firefight I mean you're skipping a bunch of action Do you think it was funny in the firefight how there's all these rounds going everywhere and none of the horses get hit? And I don't think any of the bad guys get well harm certainly doesn't get hit us again What actually struck me most is funny is the way harm was shooting the automatic Then you have like an oozy. Yeah, well, maybe they were anticipated and what he just days jump certified Yeah, we was ever certified because he later in the series you could sort of understand because you've been shot down or crashed so many times that Yeah, one would think he'd know how to perish you get honorary parachuting right? Yeah, yeah falling out of the sky so many times you've earned these but Up to now all he's done is put one into the deck.

No, he hasn't you know, yeah done any special ops training as far as I know But anyway, he saves so he saves get painter He's a painter out of there But he almost seems disappointed because he comes across painter and he's like, yes, dude I found you and he kind of looks him over and he's like what you mean you're not shot crap You're supposed to be shot dude. Yeah, but I'm bullet holes in it does find something but What I said, he does find something because he cuts something and then he puts it in his little pocket He takes it back. Oh, he does but we don't give away It showed him do it it showed him do it showed him do it showed him pull that knife out Go to town on that So yeah painters like now Well any asympto you remember anything and painters like I remember I'll remember I'll remember being shot. I don't yeah, I'll testify to Kagg remembering whatever he would ever I'm good And I was like well damn dude, he can't do that But anyway, yeah harm does cut away a portion of the parachute that painter had when he was descending and So now we're in the courtroom again commander Kendrick critic gives this powerful closing argument I really thought it was pretty good and pretty damning and then Kagg who has remembered fired Meg So he's gonna give his own closing argument and I thought it was freaking brilliant.

It was short He's like I'm not a lawyer So I'm gonna keep it short which was also kind of funny, but he gets up there He's just like look dude. I've been I've been I got this eleven thousand hours nine hundred of them are in combat You know, that's a freaking load of hours. Yeah, it's because we had a guy at one of my old assignments that spent his whole career blank strike eagles. Yeah, and I Want to say it was a huge deal when he reached like three thousand it was either three thousand or five thousand It wasn't 11,000.

Yeah, so that you got to think about it. This guy was in Vietnam, too I mean you're doing some combat time. Yeah, nine hundred hours. Although nine hundred out of eleven thousand Isn't really I mean you still got it.

That's still a lot of not combat hours anyway. He's been anyway He's got a lot of time. Yeah, he's been in a 14 and a lot of things And he's like, you know I made the decision I made because I know what I saw and I don't regret it And if I was given the same opportunity again, I would act the exact same way and I've got my guys back And that's just if that's not good enough for you guys, then whatever. It's not good enough.

So Meg and Kagg talk and and Meg tells Kagg like dude You know, even if you get court marshaled if harm makes it back, okay with painter and painters been clearly, you know There's evidence that he's been shot out that'll overturn your court marshal and you're gonna be okay and Kagg's like well What are you doing assuming that I'm gonna be guilty anyway? I mean the case is mean over what the hell kind of lawyer are you? I mean come on have a little bit of faith and so I didn't and that bad I mean basically was like kind of fell in her he's in the end when they walked away. He was like you're not so bad Oh, he liked her.

Yeah. Well, I don't think he ever disliked Meg I think he just really wanted the opportunity to defend himself pretty peo better than the first part When she's like chair. Yeah, I mean she was out of line. That is out of line.

No, I was No, I don't think he got it because I think I get it Harm would have harmed would have agreed with him if she thought he was if he thought she was out of line But he didn't agree with it. He's like dude chill. She's just because well don't assume too much sir, you know Well, how else are you really supposed to you know for someone that defends behemoth Lee Meg every So you're like quick to throw over the bus here. I try to be fair and balanced with Well, I think it was come on.

I felt that that was a little out of line though. I side with the KAG on that one anyway Captain Boone ultimately is found out guilty by actually a very slim margin. I mean four to three three. That's not really overwhelming Harm and painter are in that firefight.

No one's injured. They all get out and Harm you know shows that the ultimately shows that the parachute's been impacted by bullets So it proves the KAG's point that the hind was clearly shooting at the pilots and that's the episode Well, except for the cool kind of twist at the end where they're like a it was a four three vote and KAG's like I know who the three people are yeah, and Meg's like how does he know? And Harv says he's a KAG I don't know but I mean he's awesome though. He's a great KAG Awesome, maybe a later.

It was a good episode. I enjoyed it I didn't care for the part where harm went in but I mean I get they have to do that for the ratings because nobody's interested in Watching characters. They're never gonna see again do something cool. They want to see the F14 pilot go out and do cool things So, you know, it was good.

Yeah, I mean I had the one little little kind of I don't know if we want to call it a flaw But it wasn't a fatal flaw for the episode that being armed here I'm like a special forces to go into doing this thing there Yeah, I just I there was enough good to to just kind of make the good news about the series is that they shift away from him as a Kind of an action hero later as things go on and sort of things sort of settle down a little bit so you're not like You know, he is still an action hero to me though because there's still episodes where he flies that for well Yeah, and those are some of the best episodes of pilots So he should be able to fly in F14, but he's not an opera a special offer. Well, yeah But that doesn't mean he's Immediately qualified to jump out of helicopters. He survives when no one else would the ocean is not true. That's not true He's he crashes in the episode that you love more than any other with No, it's not more than any other I really enjoyed I actually really liked the final episode Thought that was good.

There's a couple that really kind of got me one of the Christmas episodes Actually, I think all the Christmas episodes I liked some of the fantasy episodes. I enjoyed You know where like the altar alternative. Oh, yeah, what could have been or the old yeah life I enjoyed that. I like the episodes where harm and yeah, but I'm just saying so but they're still there's still those I Mean I don't know what are you saying?

What I'm saying? I know what I'm saying I'll try to explain it in a rated G way because I feel like you want to Use talk that we can't you well that might be the case. We'll just move on. Okay to keep this relatively friendly So are we nearing the end of the season?

No, we have like 21 episodes, but we're over the hill I mean if this were a week we'd be past Wednesday because okay cuz yeah, this is the 12th episode I think there's only 21 you know if they were all like this and eventually we'll get to the point where they're all They're all pretty good, but at least what we really get to the point is you get this more solidified cast where you know the characters week Do we yeah, I'm telling you when the Admiral comes on board. I love him. Yeah, when he gets there, too I really liked him. That's not actually till later like he's only there for like three seasons or so out of the what however many there were So yeah, I think he actually ends up leaving before the end of the show No, no, he does so they bring in that other guy who has a history with Mac, which I didn't really like no There's a lot of people with a history with well But I still like her, but this was a good episode the best one that we've seen for sure Yeah, it's probably the best one of the series so far so if you were back there in 1996 and Yet to have checked out jazz Really like it it's really cool action packed the courtroom.

It's got a little Law and order kind of kind of flavor to it. I enjoyed it. Yeah, so let me ask you this so The first episode the pilot episode that she will she will yeah, so that was Inspired quite a bit by top gun now Top gun and a top gun happen and jag happened and now top guns gonna happen again Do you think there might be an open parish the thought for I don't think I can some sort of comeback military trauma Oh, I thought you were gonna maybe like a second jag or Union show I'm good with the Union show is what does that conjure in your mind your conjures Brady bunch 1996 awful or chips or chips or dukes a hazard You know you have to come back with I mean I would be fine if they just re Invented the show with new characters. Yeah, well you could not be fine with that Give me a break it.

There was one reason and one reason alone you watch jag No, I watched it for the fine courtroom drama that was You liked it. Oh that reason would not exist if they recasted the main character. They don't need to recast her She's fine. Oh, so we're gonna dredge her up from the old folks home.

I don't know where she is now. I don't know either I don't know where she is by old folks home. I hope I'm sure Catherine Bell downloads this. I'm sure yeah It's right listening to it.

Yeah, I wouldn't for what it's worth Catherine Bell. I mean you are beautiful I'm sure you're still very beautiful, but um, but I would only watch a remake of jag if it was the original cast I'm not interested in watching. I don't think they can do the original cast. Well, I'm saying the union show well nobody like Brumby anyway, well some people might have the Australian fans How many of them were there?

Well, probably quite a bit because I actually went there and filmed on location Folks there's so many good ones to come don't give up on us. There's so many good ones. All right, dude Let's go with your rating. Come on.

No you first. Yeah, I really like this episode I'd give it a point five. I don't know if I'd give it an eight point five. I have to kind of disagree with you there Well, surprise.

I would probably give it a eight straight up because the oh the hokey part. Yeah Well, that's why it doesn't get a nine right? I mean well it tends the best right so no It's why I mean it's an eight because you still have to balance it with what's to come right? Yeah, but see I don't know enough about what's to come well you see most of the series just 20 years ago So, you know, it's gonna get a lot better.

You just said no it does get better I don't know if there's a lot of tens though, and there are some there are some crappy episodes to come to well But even in the later years there were a couple little we always gotta have your filler episode Yeah, you just hate those or I never hate it though. So okay, you gotta take a break Show like you have this you have this high drama where you know things happen and you're all stressed out So you do kind of need a decompression episode then you can kind of get back into that stuff again, you know I'm excited for what's to come on Jack, but I enjoyed this episode It was a good one and if you haven't seen it and you're just listening to the podcast highly recommend you go see it It's great or download it. You don't you're not really You can't go see it. It's not like the movies.

We're not gonna see from the beginning You know I feel like we should watch maybe for next week's episode. We should watch it together Why I don't know I just feel like it'd be kind of fun We may have to when we get to see some too because we lose prime coverage, you know from oh So we got a resort to the DVDs. Yes, I'll switch back to the DV well I have the box set but the right we're going that's not gonna be too late anyway Long time now we're good. I'm excited.

Love the show. Yeah, this one was good. I like the Terio queen Kagg we'll see him again. I was gonna I was gonna be my next question good good Does he ever come back in any of the later seasons?

I think he might I mean I don't remember him just dropping off the scope completely because he was good He's a good character. Yeah, it's just a good actor too You know kind of help save the show Well, let's give it a little bit of credibility. Yeah. Yeah, he's great.

So All right, I think that's it. I guess that's all I think producer Karis had a lot of input this episode. Yeah Thanks to her. Yeah, thanks to her for watching for tease.

Yeah, and for everyone else. We'll see you next week. Sorry. We will We're off the air.

Yeah, we were off the air. I must take my associate to task for no I know I had to go I had to go I had to do colleague folks in this endeavor team. Yeah, like the week of right you never said like we're gonna miss you told me You took up the kids first of all go on vacation and then the next week is the summer and then the next week is like I'm gonna go watch some crappy country. Oh, it was so good. It was not I mean he is country, but he's not like country. It's not like twang playing everybody in my world died So great point is is you know, you kind of let the fans to just hang out there I was out.

I was ready. I was locked loaded. I'm so sorry all 12 of you. I'm sorry if I let you down I will be here next week.
