I don't think he meant it. He meant it. He didn't mean it. He's not that kind of boy I mean he was probably thinking it was opposite day like the mirror in Star Trek So I'm looking at producer Billy cuz we just watched that last night I was really impressed that he would actually sit through it on a Friday night, but he did well what better way to spend Well, you know, I think you enjoyed it the especially a stormy Friday night.

It was yeah Did you see the lightning all the crazy lightning and thunder no, no, there was a lot of it well and floods yeah It was biblical proportions, but anyway, yeah, that was on TV mirror mirror one of my favorite episodes And then I you know we just what is that on BBC? No, it's on heroes and icons. Oh You get that channel. I don't know you have Verizon or Okay, I must get it.

I don't know what yeah heroes and icons. They show it all the time So they go they go TOS TNG DS 9 and Voyager every Friday night. Oh, I don't know each Yeah, I couldn't talk him into the other take it forever to get through that well That's four hours on a Friday. We're a my CTV.

We weren't really into that so No, so but we did watch mirror mirror. It was awesome. Yeah, me. It's good.

I think I think William J Was a fan of the alternate uniform alternate uniforms Of the girls, you know, they're all scantle scantily. Well, that's a short for scantily. Oh Anyway, whatever so that was good. Yeah, it was good Friday night And then we rolled into Saturday and and here we are yeah, here we are Yeah, I didn't think the food was disgusting that you made if that helps.

Do you think it was good? I did that was great. I really liked it too. I really liked it and today was a good day for Stu Yeah, I mean you can't go wrong when it's cold out.

I know what happened to the weather. I don't know. Yeah, it was Anyway, it just puts me in a bad mood when the weather's poor and it's cold and the children are unforgiving and cruel well I don't know why go that well. They were they were they were they're just what they are six So they're gonna say what's on their mind.

They're out of control though. Well, they're out of control They were just excited to see you haven't seen you in a week. They don't even come to see me at the door anymore All they want to know is oh, oh, my yeah, who is making fun of me first? I don't know why I don't know.

I just have an entire microphone listener What did I say you said listeners Listener, yeah, no, we do only just have one. Hi mom. How you doing? I yeah, we'll call later when you get back from Canada What is this the attorney thing that controls this thing?

Because it's never done that before well. Yes, are you set now? No, I think it's still very much fun of me for I Don't think that's not it. Well.

Oh, it's the this groovy piece. Yeah, smartie. Yeah I just won't touch it. I just won't touch it, but you do have to speak into it Well, I I need to step away because I need to be down and pick up your notes Okay, well, I'll fill the time so we don't have that air Well, well, we just lost our only listener because Josh was alone at the mic.

So now it's just you and me Yeah Great now we can reminisce about jag. Yeah, let's talk about jag Because I feel like producer Billy has been feeling like we've been spending more time talking Star Trek than we have jag On a podcast that is designed to talk about jag and I feel like he well the thing is what people need to realize is there were court cases in Star Trek. I know there were court marshals. There were attempted court marshals.

There was all kinds of things like that You're right. I mean so in a way the shows kind of feed off each other. Yeah, they're very complimentary Anyway, this episode you know We talked a little bit on the phone about this earlier We don't talk a lot before the podcast because obviously we want to save all the excitement for the actual podcast recording time But we did talk just a little bit about this and Josh was telling me that there was gonna be a character that I was just gonna love because I said oh I hope Terriokwing comes back for the next one knowing that he probably wouldn't and Unfortunately a character that I never wanted to see again pops up in this very next episode And we had seen her last week and cremic cremic cremic I think it's and no it's crenic with him I watch it with closed captioning so oh crenic yeah, geez. I don't like her at all I didn't like it about I don't like her and she was all over harm all over it was so no I'm not she was she was all over and she was I mean first of all let's let's get through the episode joke All right, let's just talk no no let's just because she comes in right away well in the in the opening right after the credit start So yeah, we'll just say that dark and stormy night episode 13 get it in okay.

I mean I guess you can take over the No, no, that was my job. No, go ahead. No, please dark and stormy night kind of like what we're just talking about in our own lives Yeah, but we weren't in at 14. No anyway, so dark and stormy night at 14 is flying by a minute So in the start and stormy night, he's trying to get back it sounded like he was trying to get to Florida or something anyway I was trying to get to Cuba well Yes Cuba yes, it was he was trying to get to Cuba, but anyway, I didn't think he was trying to get to do it Yeah, he was going to our base there go on time.

Okay. Anyway lightning strikes and he loses No strikes different totally different Anyway lightning strikes his F-14 and he loses avionics and loses navigation and he loses radio and then he's intercepted by two Cubans slash Russian T-38s and they tell him that he's in their airspace and they got him So he needs to land at Los Banos, which is funny. Did you get the joke in that? Yes?

El Bonio is the bathroom. Yes, so I don't know what Los Banos is the men's bathroom. I don't know Anyway, so they tell him he's got a land there so land there He does and that's the that's the end of that and we roll into the credits and then no no You just can't skip it though. Why because the dumb town people they're like sir.

He's off the scope and the guy's like And he just goes and stands by the window you'd be like maybe calling somebody Well possibly I mean good. I don't know I didn't even catch that part because the dubbing was so bad on my TV We've got this problem. It's just persistent. Well, you could see it off again You know what the plane is gone well, it was you know they were the early morning shift They probably came on at midnight.

Nobody's up. It's a really an emergency. I'm sure we can really establish comms Anyway, you know what? I did want to say though Is that the pilot of the F14 on his little helmet and I love this about the Navy because they can kind of design their own helmets And have a lot of fun with it They're of course were so sticks in the mud about the helmets and you know They can have a little thing over there visor with a patch on it But the Navy actually has painted helmets every gets their own you can design your own your little call sign goes on it It's wicked cool.

Can they still do that? Yeah? Yeah, it is good. Yeah, it is and anyway, so this particular pilot has the old rebel flag Did you see that on his helmet?

I didn't pay attention to that. Oh, come on. It doesn't affect your visual acuity Well, I was just no you were acting like I heard what was going on I know what the tower was saying to the pilot. I just know that the pilot was forced to land Anyway, yeah, the guy had a rebel flag on his on his helmet Peter.

Yeah. I don't think you could get away with that these days I don't think I can't even believe you didn't notice it. It was like right there white helmet Well, I had some scratchiness on my TV there were you got to adjust the what was that we used to? No, come on.

What do we have to adjust back in the day on the VCR? Turn the wheel What was that the little because the lines would roll through the screen? You guys don't even know no, he doesn't know that's not what it was. I Don't I don't remember that.

Yeah, you do tracking the tracking the tracking if they're just the tracking It's been a little wheel and the lines disappear. What's your tracking? That's not a VCR. That's what I said.

Yeah, no Anyway, anyway, cremic so we rolled through the credits and instead of opening with the F14 and whatever happened to that thing in Cuba We open to harm on a lovely morning in his apartment. At least the band wasn't walking by this time I thought that was nice. Yeah, the band wasn't there. They must have already passed by I kind of miss the band I do too.

I really thought I was kind of looking for him, but that's probably why he was awake because they already passed Yeah, so he's listening to some classical music. Yeah, some cuz I always listen to that when I'm making breakfast on a second Yeah, it's great. And it's a great way to start today. He's in the kitchen in his tank top He's looking pretty good really good and he's putting together some eggs whatever He's just doing his thing.

You know, he's batching it anyway, and who walks into his apartment like it's their apartment, but Commander, she out ranks him. She should be able to do it. She just rolls right in like she owns the place Well, she's a good girl. I thought I wonder what I've missed because she's like she walks in and then she kind of walks around She walks upstairs.

She checks out his little living space up there. Well, it's very rude Yeah, you don't if you don't if he was trying to just Studio apartment Well, he offered a breakfast. He didn't offer a breakfast. She asked.

Well, I mean that's basically the same thing Well, no, it's completely different. She was completely rude and she's wearing this bright Makeup and she's just coming on to him in in a way that I didn't sense anything completely just in a program around checking he's clearly uncomfortable with it because I don't really think he Likes her in the way that she likes him. I don't know. I don't really sense I mean, I would say that she was totally into her She even at one point while he's batting his eggs is like says I wish I would have written it down But something to the effect of that's that's why I want to sleep with you is what she says and it's funny too Because they they talk about the red light yellow light green light thing which was a big post-tail hook the Navy's way to try to Say no to yeah, once it advances.

Yeah, well, plus we all learned it about that in grade school when like Yeah, no a person would stand like at the end and everyone would run until or walk or whatever until I read They still play that yeah, it's a classic. Oh, pretty sarcastic. Yeah, they still do that. Yeah, yeah Yeah, that's cute.

I'm glad they still play those innocent games So did you see the drama from the US open I happen to be reviewing the news while I was I just read a quick article I mean, I don't really attend is fishing and I am not either but let me tell you not good It's not good for Serena. You don't go throw in your racket. She threw her rack it through her rack Oh, what's wrong? Well, so apparently from the article I read off of the BBC and I have not seen the video footage I don't know how bad it was but the article indicated that she had received some sort of penalty from the referee because the referee had said that her Serena's coach had been giving hand and arm signals.

Yeah, which the referee interpreted as coaching Serena Which is not allowed so he gave her a penalty now post match Her French coach did indeed admit that he was coaching he was trying to coach her but he did not think that she was looking at him When he was trying to coach her at any rate Serena argues to the referee that that's a BS call She was not being coached. She wouldn't do that. She's not a cheater But nonetheless she gets penalized for it rackets are flying she's pissed Opponent is this young 20 year old Japanese girl who's like whoa? I've always idolized you.

What the heck's going on hand? Can we just play a game of tennis? So The match continues after all this drama The 20 year old Osaka I think is her name wins the match, but the crowd is booing so bad It's like 24,000 people in there all think it's really gonna take this thing So they're all disappointed that Serena loses and they all kind of think that it was all a sham and so they're all booing when this poor young Japanese girl is getting the trophy and the Japanese girl is like in tears of sadness because you know This is a huge event, but she's being booed by 24,000 people for winning and they just you know what I mean? It was just like man what is going on in this world?

Geez got a drink folks Drink is that what you read? No, that's not what I read. No. What did you read?

I read that she? had outbursts and uncontrollable fits of rage and That the crowd was actually booing her Williams for being really engaging in the behavior that she was engaging in not are you really opponent? Yes, that's what I Wow. Yes.

What was your new source? Daily mail Yes, we're gonna watch the SPM to get the story. Well if I cared I would but I got to but I sort of do because it's like what is going on I understand sports these days. I just don't get it dude.

I just it frustrates me. It's like can we just just play a game? It's real emotional Yeah, I know but I mean she was being coached dude. Well, I don't the other person have a cool I mean if they both have coaches who cares if they're getting coached during the game because it's not allowed it's against the rule No, I know but it's a dumb rule and I can't figure out really so you're taking her side because I'm not no I'm just saying I don't understand a rule to begin with if they both have coaches who cares that their coach because it's just against the rule I know but it's a dumb rule.

I mean, it's like why why are the master's coats always freaking green? That's that's I mean why not make a pick of a worse animal if I know but I know but usually there's rationale for rules in the world of sport Well, there is you don't need with your helmet because of X Y and Z well That's injury and but the football people are getting coached from the sidelines all the time right well coaching is not against the rules And football I know I'm just trying to we concentrate tennis. I don't even like tennis. Why are we arguing about this?

We're just having a nice conversation about We were talking about J. We were talking about you took us here Well, I was upset and you asked me why I was so crotcheting tonight and that's part of the reason why I just like what is going on in sports Well, I just am I'm just angry. I'm just angry. I just want sorry people to get along and like it Or just play a game for the fun of playing a game.

Oh, there's millions of dollars in sponsorships at stake Millions of dollars in sponsorships. Well now she's acted like a total. Yeah, but you know what you got you know what she got professional You know what she got? Yeah, but would you really want it?

No such thing as bad ink You know what if she doesn't come out tomorrow and say I'm sorry and I acted like a fool then then Such thing is bad ink All presses good press Sarah. It's always been always will be I don't agree, but let's move on. All right, so Go ahead. No, no, no, no, no, no.

I think you should cuz you're losing me of leaving things I said commander Krenick. She's a sly mix. She is no, she's not Besides do you just want to argue is that what you want to do? So we talk about sports and how it's just turned into just a bunch of arguing Well, you know we want to talk about Jagan you want to argue about it that the opening solo here and you're like No, that's not how it was Take a single incident on a tennis court and then say that sports for you I'm not but it's just following on the heels of this Kaepernick thing.

We've got Nike sponsors on both I don't know. I just like what's going on? Dude, I don't know geez I thought I can't handle it. I can't I can't folks.

I just can't that's why I Maybe you shouldn't watch the news. Sounds like you need to like just kind of sequester yourself I maybe I should I don't know I'm over it, but Krenick was out of line big time and she's all over him and he's not happy They had sex I'm telling you they did when after the camera stops cuz she stays for breakfast. Are you telling me an edited breakfast? Yeah, she didn't have her Of course he would he did at the end of the episode Yeah, I know but that was Magdalena Maria And that was different I mean she was probably really attractive now Amanda Krenick is not is not attractive.

She's nothing like harm. She's she seems to me to be vindictive She's ultra competitive all she cares about is her career and nothing else and she'll do whatever it takes to get where she wants to go In the name well, so let's not leave this Scene without saying hey, well, she did bring up Cheggwin and his arrival. Yeah, so we get so we finally get one of the key How young did he look his hair was still dark. Yeah, I mean so his character doesn't change from from now until later in the same Guys he's a cool guy at a manning boss, but the fair boss.

I like seeing him. It's about time. He showed up I thought you had said that he's not on for like the fourth season. I didn't say that.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure you did Every wine I mean British woman voice Why is jag so hateful of the State Department? I work with a guy that works for the State Department and I adore him He is hilarious and fun. No, he wasn't we find out later that he wasn't but for the whole first half of the episode We think he is and shed we again talks bad about oh, you're not the state guy You're gonna have to haul around with you in a previous episode state was looked upon as being bad I think it was the Brazilian embassy episode just all these slams against state. Yeah, you know for the record We work you did a stint with the State Department Um good people there.

Yeah, yeah, so I don't know there's not the state between the military and the State Department I mean, I think they look at things a little bit. We do but there's not hate there I mean if I go to you why with the state guy I'll go to you why with the state guy he wasn't exactly endearing though No, no, no, he was not what was his name. Did you get it? I never I just called him state dude That's what I called him.

Well, I called him state guy I think his name started with a B because I think they said it like once but I didn't Well, it wasn't worth remembering anyway, so probably good that neither of us wrote it down Anyway, so ultimately it's off the Cuba for the jag team They got to go try to get this pilot back. It's gonna be it's gonna be hard And what we learn is that the F-14D model that old um what was his name? Keter was flying in was uh mounted with some sort of super secret hardware and uh now that the plane was down and the plane was in working order It's possible that the Cubans slash Russians might might be able to download that crypto and use it on their you sell it to Iran Or give it to Iran who has the same model F-14s and then upload the crypto and then they would be comparable enemies to us Well, you're assuming air to air engagement would be equivalent right so harm does bring that argument harm brings that up Yes, it's a yeah, you know what? No, I mean we can talk about historical president korean war.

Look at you, josh. Yes. Look at me. Look at you.

Look at us both pulling out our korean war Yeah, that's awesome. Do yeah, I'm glad we learned something in SOS. I don't know where we were anyway. No, it's good.

Yeah, so we do know historically that we may not have the best aircraft But we have the best pilots and they can they can they can win what did you think about harm just taking over the controls On the old uh C21 C21. I mean, I'm assuming that's what that was. Yeah, something like that. Yeah, um, I don't think They really made the air force look bad in this episode.

They really did. No, they did Because they just buried it in hokiness. I mean, okay, it's my plane. I'm gonna do A role that happens to put me right on the runway exactly correctly like I'm some sort of stunt guy Well, so here's what you missed because we're sometimes I don't think we do the best at leading our listeners to the I mean, we sort of go out of order.

No, I don't think it's my fault entirely. I think you certainly contribute. No, I don't I'm sorry. What?

It's not it's not me. Anyway, what what we skipped Was uh the fact that these guys are all on a plane and they are intercepted by the same pilot the same two pilots the entire episode of the t38 Now they only have the two planes. I guess so and the state department guy goes crazy because he's like, I don't understand We have diplomatic clearance. I have the paperwork right here I don't know why they're threatening to shoot us down and so you know harm's like oh go take the controls for a while So he goes up to the air force guy.

There's a first lieutenant air force who apparently is the only guy on the plane They don't have a co-pilot so harm just takes the seat and it's like my my airplane and the air force lieutenant's like, okay cool Whatever you can fly it you fly up for sure Or missiles or anything like that. Yeah weapons because harm probably thought that it did he might have you never know anyway I didn't I just it was so Hokey and stupid. Well, that's what I mean So the air force can't really look too bad because it's buried in this odd scene of um, I'm going crazy with this C-21. Yeah, he did anyway, he so so harm claims to the Cuban Control tower that he's got a medical emergency and he needs to land and he's denied clearance to land They wanted to go back to florida or wherever he came from and he's like no We're coming in anyway He does a bunch of hot dog flying and a C-21 and they land on the airstrip that they weren't supposed to land on and barely in the nick of Time stop within inches of a fuel truck.

It's just yeah because we all parked the fuel truck right there on the end of the Runway that was terrible Yeah, I mean this whole episode funny thing about the fuel truck was and I know it was in Spanish, but it said in Inflammable. So if I saw that too, well, I guess he could have hit it then. I mean, it's probably gonna be okay. Yeah, I mean even in flammie Blay Mablie would have been in flammable right?

O'Kearle fire? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah Uh, so they get there right and what happens they the Cuban surround them they take him to this hanger What happens then they go to the hanger and they're just chilling they do and the The state guy comes out and he's like, uh, I can't believe you said I had a hot attack That was dumb too.

Like the point is we're here. Yeah, and we're trying to get Keter And we're trying to get this crypto off this plane before the bad guys get it So shut the hell up let us do our job and we'll try to get everybody home alive There was a good Star Trek 2 moment here though I don't know if you picked up on it where a krenick is like I want to start negotiating now in finte's like You are not in a position to do anything. It's very much like you are in a position to demand nothing Yes, I on the other hand position to grant nothing What do you think happened to Ricardo Montabon's gloves From Star Trek 2, you know how much those would be worth on ebay right now. I don't know I think that might be something we should try to research You know what I bet they're in the Smithsonian.

They're probably right here in our town. Yeah, it might be they might be in the collection somewhere How cool is that in his little helmet thing for young and you kind of got slow reveal. Yeah, it's such a good movie Why do you look at me like this producer Billy? Why?

And he was thrown out in a court case What remember no when the original series episode with con How do you get there they had like a captain's thing and they yeah, they made a termination that hey, this was gonna happen Yeah, you're gonna get exiled exiled here. This planet will come check on you with his wife And that was the whole paradise loss reference. Yeah, he says like I wonder what would happen to if we came back here in 50 years Yeah, what kind of empire he would build? Well, they find out sooner than 50 years.

Oh heck yeah, they do Happy We should have podcasted that movie just talk through it like that mystery science theater 3000. I know what it used to be Yeah, it's great God Bear that was the sex date guy bear. Yeah, the sex date Signora pilata invites everybody there still in the hanger I thought it was point a well it probably is point a but he's the pilata. Hello tea Pilota pilota He's the pilot of the two and I think the base commander and I think the base chief of police He basically is the only guy on the base.

He's the seesaf. Yeah, he's the seesaf. Yeah, he's the secretary of the cuban force And um, yeah, and uh, anyway, he's everything and he says, you know, let's just go to my house and smoke cuban So a lot of cuban cigars got smoked in this episode. Well, that's why it's called smoked That episode Is it really?

Yeah, I really paid attention to the name of it. I didn't that's not in my notes Well, they did smoke a lot of that's funny. Yeah. Look at that.

Yeah. Well, anyway, don't I just feel Put it on smart. Um old so he says no, I don't feel old. I don't feel not old.

I feel All right, I wonder if you get one of those mark four torpedoes to get buried in But it isn't some kind of a coffee store. I mean, you know, you have a kiss coffin Why wouldn't you want to be married in that or buried in that? Over it. I don't think I want to be buried in it though.

Why? I want to be buried, but I do think it's cool. I mean, I would totally and it's nice and sleek looking Yeah, it's like a glasses case does well. It's better than that.

Well, I know It's got mark four on the side. I know I wonder if they do make one. I bet they do. I bet they do.

There's got to be some novelty coffins or you know shop online Yeah, we should research that and then get back to the listener. Yeah Someone where they can purchase one of these things for herself Is herself Because if they're listening to us, they're probably close to the end right now They're probably just clinging on like I like there are any reason to be too many Oh Terrible I so want to be buried in a photon torpedo spend my dying wish Get it dying wish it's a casket. Come on. What is wrong with you?

Geez Well, now we don't have any listener. Hello. Anybody Still out there All right So they're talking about Keeter Keeter's like arms like why didn't you eject dude and just let your well isn't it funny because they have such a lovely little conversation about their time And Barcelona and the girls there with and that harm just from the third rope from the top rope is like, you know what? I think you intentionally landed here dude.

Yeah, he's like there's no way you could land without any instruments when they like nobody can do that God can't even do that. So I don't buy it. I don't buy it. Yeah, and Keeter gets pissed Like dude are you serious?

You think I'd lie and walks away in that horrible shirt awful. Well, he's in Cuba That's what they know I know but it's total late 90s attire. Well, it's the late 90s. I know it's just terrible I didn't know we dressed that bad in the late 90s, but apparently we do So so harm is already suspecting that something is not right, but he's he doesn't yet know the full story.

We'll get there Yeah, so the Russians are downloading the Russians are downloading the software off of the the f14 and they're somewhat time Constrainted however you say that in a past tense but yes There's somewhat constraint in the timing because they don't have a auxiliary power unit So they they've got to turn the engine on every time they Need to download stuff from the plane, but they can't have the engine on for very long So what we learn is that there's a total of five crypto packets and this Russian is downloading them one by one And of course it takes time, but we gather that maybe within you know 48 hours They're gonna have all the packets downloaded and that can't possibly happen So harm feels like it's his duty to stop this from happening And the only way he can do that is to be able to stop the engine from the plane from being able to turn on So he needs access to the plane So this is where I started thinking that the episode should be called a man and his horse Because this is where harm uses the help of this old man with this old man's horse And the horse distracts the guards around the up 14. No, these were horses. That was one horse No, well, he had two he only brought one to the hanger I mean, what if you needed the second one though? Yeah, he didn't it would have been a better second How many guards does it take just grab the reins?

I mean the horse isn't like out of control I mean, it's not going crazy. It's just running around the hanger I mean and they're scaring it well and then they get all like Healthy about it and then they're like well, that was strange It really was stupid, but it does it does provide a distraction long enough for harm to Crawl up into the intake and tie his belt onto whatever loose stuff There's the tie a belt to attach Apparently and then he gets out and mission success. So he is so excited to go back to this Cuban Ferrero's house or one day when taste house And um and he tells the state department. He's like dude Don't worry.

They're not gonna get the rest of the crypto downloaded because I sabotaged the turbines on the plane I mean, it's it's gonna fawn the engine out and haha jokes on them, you know jerks And the state guy loses his mind and it's like no no You couldn't sabotage the jet you can't we can't lose the jet and harm's like but dude That that was the whole point of coming here was to make sure that the crypto didn't get in the hands of the enemy And say guys like dude, you don't understand man Like the whole plan was that they did get the crypto because the crypto has a virus in it And we wanted them to download it all and harm's like we're talking cyber warfare. Yeah in 1996 Yeah, yeah, it's pretty smart really if you think about it I guess so what we what we find is that state guy is not really state guy at all He actually works for the nsa Keeter has been in on this the whole time and was actually just made up the whole lightning strike wasn't that convenient because he wanted to land in kuba No, no, they they damaged the plane intentionally. Yeah before he even took off. Yeah, but he was a part of this the whole time Yeah, he took up the secret mission Anyway, so harm's like well Crap now we got to figure out a way to get back down to that hanger and unscrew what we screw I gotta get my belt back Well, he cut his belt though with his knife.

Well, I know he's got to get back. Oh, yeah It's got to get it out of the thing. It won't work anymore. Well, no.

Well, no He doesn't want to use it for personal use. Oh, he needs to get it out. So does it find out the engine? So they go down to the Hanger Dude, you suck at this whole podcast thing, man.

What are you supposed to like? Because I mean I need you to jump in sometimes well like when well like now would be a good time Well, so they do they go back to the hanger but before they do harm makes a deal with went a Actually, I thought this was pretty ballsy at harm because he goes in there and he's like look for one day Here's the deal dude. I could totally get car core marshal for this I could get thrown in jail for what i'm about to tell you but I need to tell you POTUS of the United States POTUS is not going to give you oil for you guys returning this F14 He's not going to do it. He's that the negotiation is going to fail.

It's not going to work The Iranians however will give you oil for this F14 and the crypto that they get So it's in your best interest to make sure that the Iranians slash Russians get this plane and all the crypto with it So yes, the crypto is a virus. I didn't know that when I came here, but I know that now so in full disclosure I need your help you get your oil for your people I get my crypto downloaded on an F14 just like I wanted all the time and Fuentes says basically yeah, yeah, that's because he's basically the vice president of Cuba He's making all these calls. He's great. Yeah, and so he's like all right dude I'm in I mean who knew that someone's so powerful in the Cuban hierarchy was a fight No, and we haven't talked at all about Megan this episode.

I thought she looked adorable and she's so cute She didn't really do much in the end. No, but she's really cute and her hair looked good the whole time I think which is actually quite a feat because it's very humid in Cuba. No, that's what made it puffy No, it should have made it flat. Oh, it does.

Yeah Yeah, just like when you try to curl it and then you go to someplace that's very humid. It just it splat Oh, yeah, that's pretty It's awful. She looked really cute the whole time Meg I adore her and of course she speaks banish too I mean what language doesn't she speak? Hey, you know what I was in a meeting this week and They were like hey blah blah blah blah blah And we also need to have everything we also need to have Sarah McKenzie come down and I was like what no yes like Catherine Bell I don't know that's what I'm kind of that's really her name.

Yeah, that was someone's real name your hearts aren't beating faster Yeah, we do need to get It's knowledge that we need Funny that somebody has that name. I wonder how often people confuse her with Catherine probably all the time, you know tees or about it Yeah, probably everything in session. Sorry, probably um, it's probably like yeah, it's not for some of her that do yeah So are they bringing her down? Can you meet this girl?

I don't know. I really wasn't not listening to that I kind of lost luck when they said Sarah McKenzie. Oh, I don't really know how it ended. That's too bad Well, now you'll be surprised if she shows up in a thing won't that be fun Uh, well, we lost producer Kara so Pretty still here.

That's good. Everybody else still there great. This has been an exciting podcast. Let me tell you it doesn't get We do appreciate you listening though.

Yeah, thanks a lot feel free to call in sometime lines are open. Yeah Um, I have a check there voicemail though lately well the red lights not blinking so I don't think there's anything to check Yeah, well, I could use the tracking mechanism to clear up the audio Uh, so where are we we I think that's really where my notes in Uh, let's see. That's where my yeah, that's where my notes in yeah He says well they blow up the fuel truck and then they shut down the F14 harp sneaks in gets his belt And then him and keeter jump on the c21 You know what though they left they left their guys behind I know that ever really happened I don't think I wonder like how the heck did they get back? Yeah, me too, but they all somehow did and the pilot seemed real happy They got away.

Yeah, but here's what I don't get he's still fired at them. Yeah, he fired at him Then harm, you know, you're not gonna take out harm evaded it. Yeah, but we don't know that and that pilot didn't know that Because they talked to each other after the shot remember he's like have a nice day I know I know but when the pilot when the when Fuentes or whatever releases that missile. I mean that was no kidding Like there was no kidding there was intent to kill There was I mean he could have thought well, maybe harm can get out of this one But there was the high likelihood that harm was not gonna get out of that and that plane was gonna go down So what are they just enemies that respect each other?

Uh, yeah, I mean Like balance of terror balance of terror. That's not what I was thinking. I was thinking firefox Like the internet no you ever seen that movie with Clint Eastwood No goes back and he steals the Russian Soviets super secret high-pancy plane And then there's only two of these planes in the world in Russia and he steals one of them and the other guy gets in the other one It comes after him so before he can get it back to America. No, yeah, I've never heard of that I don't know what that has to do with Enemies that respect each other well because they were flying against each other And it was cool because it was like a pre F 35 ish because all clean each one Was was was was think the command that he wanted the plane to do and it would do it speed Good, dude.

That's not good. That's not good. Cause what if you know how your brain wanders What if you're like plane crush in your head? I mean well so you can't have any straight thoughts the thing though The thoughts had to be in Russian because it was a Russian plane.

Oh my god Jeez Profession your back in my back your professionalism knows no balance. Sorry. Anyways, so we had to think in Russian because it was designed in Russian So it couldn't understand like a dumb movie. I think it was great.

No, I think balance of terror was a better analogy Do you not remember? I don't I'm never even Really to get mad so I'm gonna talk about old boys because I don't think you can hear why would he get mad? Because balance the terror references tangy or a TOS episode. Oh, it's an episode.

Okay, you don't remember that Well, I probably will if you describe it dude. It's got sariq it, but he's a ronman And they're in the neutral zone. Yeah. Oh, yeah, remember that.

He's like if this was a different time. Yeah, yeah, yeah But right now and they like self-destruct it. Yeah. Yeah.

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That's what it's like.

That's enemies that was con But same idea. Yeah, well, not really because there was no love between conicirk. But uh, that's oh well I shouldn't have ended right there in my notes because there's a bit of a froggy scene at the end Yeah, which really makes the episode sort of worth it. Oh, jesus.

What's going on? Did a listener just real time texts this? Oh, well, yeah, yeah, I did. I just got a text folks.

I just got a text from a listener. I uh, I'm gonna read it aloud Excellent. Let's see what this listener hi listener. Thanks so much for tuning in It says in live no less it says how can your notes stop when there was a whole commander critic walking in his bedroom Uh scene I think is what the what the viewer or listener was trying to say thanks listener Um, I wasn't actually gonna forget that which is why I was circling back to the end of the episode and trying to say There was one thing that I didn't have in my notes that I really should have had in my notes And that was the final scene when uh critic walks in To harm's apartment again.

She's mad because he's got another girl because they already No, no, that's why he's that's a proves it has more honor than that. No, that's No, it's not no, it's not inclusive proof. She was upset because he had another girl in a shower and he was like dude Are you serious after we shared all that together? That's so this is basically you prove my point and it conclusively proves that they did have no relations And so that's why she was so upset.

No, she's like seriously He was upset because she was hoping to have relations well, maybe but because he had turned her off after breakfast before So she's like, well, we've had this whole fiasco in Cuba I'm sure he'll think differently now. Let me go and see what he thinks and she goes to see what he thinks and oh, there's another No, no, that's not yeah. Well, that's how I took it anyway. I'm just gonna say that he wouldn't because she's awful All the interpretation she's not even pretty it was a new command influence.

I mean well That's why he'd say why exactly but he couldn't he could he was trapped. He wasn't trapped. He wasn't trapped Come on, dude. Really?

She's like a damn praying mantis. Exactly that traps you. Yeah and kills you and kills you Well, he wasn't gonna kill no If you have that kind of impression of this episode on what you're gonna do in the future when we get onto these harm and vaccines that leave things Wide open to guess what might have happened Anyway, I think the listener who who texted him that's great Um, we love those. Yeah, I mean we get that was the first one actually that we better have It's really nice.

Yeah And it was a legitimate comment like hey, don't forget about this scene legitimately we're screwing up and they called you know They did I deserved it. I deserve it. Okay. So if only I could see who that was who would have sent that message that I would thank Well, they said it's our anonymous hotline.

So yeah, so that's which shall remain anonymous. Yeah, I mean well why nobody listens anyway Well, I mean, I mean we got the listener. We got the listener. We got the listener.

Mom knows our numbers She should text in a question sometime. I don't think there's anything else to say dude I think we covered this episode in its entirety. I think we covered all the big points. I think we got it I mean, I don't know what more there is to say it was um, it was not good I mean, unfortunately we came out of last week.

I was Was really good and now we come to this week and it's a downer There was a good a good thing to it. You got checked with him out of it. Yeah, I know but does he stay does he stay? Yeah, he stays.

He's a new jazz guy. Well, I mean, what do you mean does he stay? Come on, dude. I mean, we see him often or is he just well, he's the lead guy of jazz.

I know but do we You know why would they introduce a character? Like I don't know anything about this show. You're the guy who said check wagan doesn't come in until the fourth I never said that you freaking said that no I did he said that I did yes you have no And I thought well what so we got to deal with commander Lindsey for four years. No, I never said that I just said Lindsey would be popping in in and out Whatever.

Anyway, it was great to see check wagan. I mean if anything he said that say the episode because he's introduced that he's there He makes it smart. I didn't like this one at all And it was cute. No, I really didn't I thought the end was funny though One harm had the girl and instead of playing boring classical.

He's like jammin to Mexican music Yeah, that was kind of fun. That was kind of really when you think about it I think the only time harm kind of has a one-nighter in this whole series They kind of veered away from him. I wouldn't know because I don't skip ahead like you do I don't see him as a one-night guy. Well, he was in this case.

Well, I think she was conveniently in town He'd had prior relations with her. She was lonely. He was lonely. I mean, I think that's more than one I stand because he knew her from the past It's justified.

All right. Okay. All right. Okay.

I guess that's well. Why are you defending critic? She's just creepy. She's like a she's just horrible Nasty.

She's probably got all kinds of diseases. So what you're saying is you don't like her At all. No, no, no, I mean in all seriousness I think uh it's a really good thing that she eventually departs the show because the whole mac-harm dynamic would never have worked Had he uh no, but she's so hard on the outside and and cruel and demanding and not she doesn't seem to have She's not kind in any way. She's She's just not she's like a producer Cara the evil octopus lady on little mermaid What's her name?

Ursula She's Ursula Ursula. Yeah Yeah, she's Ursula. She's not an octopus. No, I know but that's what she's like though.

She's she's half octopus Okay. All right, so let's get on her ratings. Yeah Um I think you should go first. No, seriously, you should go first.

I can't go first Four Four? Yeah. Oh my goodness gracious. It was better than a four.

You got chug-winn out of it He alone would raise it up to he raised it up to a four. Oh, I didn't like anything. Nothing? No, I hated this episode Yeah, it was it wasn't even It wasn't plausible.

It was just the whole thing was just terrible. I know I didn't like it. I didn't like it and I'm in a gravity mood Okay, all right Okay, good. Well, wait.

No, what are you gonna? Curious, what would you think? I would probably give it like a five and a half. I think uh, really?

Yeah I think check with him coming on. That's great news because dude, but does that really rate crap up to a five and a half? But it saves it a bit quite a bit Future who is the guy he had in the painting in his office? Arleigh Burke.

Yeah, like Arleigh Burke. Yeah, that's the other thing I thought you would like kind of glom on to the whole historical Discussion there. I mean I like the Navy. Oh the job is destroyers in the night.

Yeah, I mean I would kind of I mean, I'm in early berg's pretty cool. Yeah, well And you're always talking to me about historical stuff. I am. Yeah, I mean I'm in a history.

Well, they know Yeah, I mean, I guess but I mean I have a lot of historical figures that I'm fond of too, but I don't put an oil painting of them in the mantle of my office Okay, but you don't quite have an office. Well, I know I mean an office like that sort of requires some artwork Well, I do have one piece of artwork. What do you have in my hallway office? It's actually really cool and I get a lot of comments on it daily by friends and co-workers and superiors like game What is it?

It is a I think you may have seen it before actually It's a pink poster and it's on canvas. So it's wrapped So it's wrapped around the thing and it's got a black b52 on it Just like the um silhouette of a b52 on it And then all these little hearts coming out of the b52 these little white hearts and uh on the top and black princess says dr strange love Or how I what does that learn to love the bomb? Yeah, and then on the bottom of it In quotes, it says gentlemen, you can't fight in here. This is the war room Which is it's a movie poster, right?

But it's on canvas and wrapped and and I had asked my boss when I um when I first moved in there because I you know I mean when you first moved into the hallway. Well, and I and I said hey, you know, sorry I I would really like to put this up, but it doesn't go with all these fancy pants paintings that are in everybody's offices here And and even out here where the you know where some of our Underlings work, um, you know, it doesn't celebrate great wars and victories have passed And I said I wouldn't want anyone to be offended But I have always really liked this and if I can have one and only one piece of artwork Next to my desk. I would like this one. So with your permission I would like to post it here And he who is a big movie fan.

I don't know that he's ever seen this movie was like, yeah, I don't care But I've had more people stop and be like dude. That is the coolest thing ever. It's great Even the guy at the top of the old food chain who rarely comes back. No, but I mean near that.

Okay, um Who rarely comes back to my little hallway. Yeah, I mean I usually go to him and he's like Well, that's that's really cool. What a great piece of art And then he asked if it was an original and I'm like, sir, really? I mean come on dude.

I work in a damn hallway It's really not original, but I appreciate the fact that you like it and I'm not being reprimanded for hanging it in here So yeah, kudos to Stanley Kubrick in a great movie. Yeah Well, he made a lot of them I know but that one in particular is really good There is a disturbing and I would tell you not to watch it because I watched it and I and I um I actually lost respect or Yeah, I guess um for Stanley Kubrick because I saw an interview with him on youtube And I think he was really intoxicated during the have you seen this? I know and he talks about The shining and all these things in the shining that I would have never thought of because I've seen that movie a million times But he um talks about all these things in the shining that are sort of anti-america ever landed on the moon stuff. Oh, yeah Yeah, you didn't you're a whole documentary on this.

Are you serious? It's called like uh, whatever the room is in the hotel Yeah, it's called like room one for whatever. Yeah, and uh it goes through it goes through all those little pieces And how little dannies were in the little space. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, it's kind of what I saw Except that they were interviewing Stanley Kubrick.

I don't recall me. I don't recall me. I'm being in it Really just not with it and and he was like, yeah, we never we never landed on the moon You know all this is legit. I tried to explain it in the movie, but people were too stupid Yeah, you gotta watch the documentary because a if you like the shining of course it doesn't it's a great movie Because it also calls out like all kinds of other things that go by super fast in the scene in the actual scene of the movie But um if you break it down like for example, uh, there's a scene at the very beginning when jack nichlson and family arrive at the overlook Yeah, and he's in the lobby jack nichlson And he's reading a magazine and the person manager comes out and gets him and it's really fast But in reality, it's a playgirl magazine the jack nichlson is really in the lobby of the hotel No, that's funny, but so they go through all that kind of stuff and uh, but yeah, there's a pretty good documentary because it's like And this thing I saw too.

It's different than what you did because it wasn't it wasn't a professionally done kind of a thing But anyway, it talked about and showed how Stanley Kubrick was so mean to the Female lady who was playing the the wife in the shining in the shining like he was really cruel to her And they didn't show they didn't really show him ever losing his mind on her But they had talked about how she was just so stressed out working for him because he was so demanding and that he would just make her do the Same scene over and over and over again because she just never got it right and never Never met his expectation and I don't know if that's true or not, but I felt terrible for her if that was the case They never interviewed her though. I don't even know if she's still alive and I don't think she did anything after that I don't know I don't know much about Shelly Duvall, how do you know these things did you just look that up? Oh Okay But Stephen King didn't like the movie anyway, so I don't know how he couldn't because I thought it was great and I actually read the book Yeah, I read the book the shining it's quite different than the movie actually because um in the movie the black guy lives Yeah, no in the movie dies in the book. He lives so I was disappointed.

You know in the movie like uh shoot I liked him. Yeah, but it was better in the movie than it went the way it did. I think No, anyway, I thought the book was good. Yeah, the movie was yeah that whole thing.

You gotta look it up Dude, that's crazy. I can't believe that you know this stuff and I thought I was so cool that I was the only one that knew No, okay, I was cool way before you I mean I knew about this years ago years ago. Yay, but you still think we landed on the moon. Oh, yeah, but I think it's interesting to see what people uh the arguments that people have you know what they present in terms of uh Countering the people always bring up the photos and the fact there's no stars in the background and um And so people have really really analyzed this stuff to try and disprove that we actually did it Um, so it's it's just interesting, you know, if nothing else, I mean You know, I think we did it.

Well, I think we did too, but I'm just saying it's kind of interesting to see how people analyze it It is and then also make you take pause and go huh? Well, yeah, I really thought about that Yeah, they're like they're like they look at a little bit on a Hollywood set Yeah, you know and how well because what they do is they were like how would the flag have stayed where it was When and when all that thrust was going when they lifted off the little Apollo thing off the moon And the flag doesn't blow away, but it was like planted right outside of their little landing zone That was one of their arguments. I remember in this kuber Yeah, so and and the other one of the other arguments I think was for if you compare the uh, the way that like 2001 space odyssey or whatever some of that stuff was done the kind of film technique that was used in that movie Um would be exactly if you were gonna fake it exactly how you do it Like if you were gonna fake the moon landing But so the documentary goes on all that stuff I'm just interested to recall what the name of it was like and looking up after okay after this Great. So yeah, well, all right.

I'm trying to wasn't a part of that whole thing though. No, no, no, yeah I'll tell you after this who she reminded me of I thought you just did well. No, she does remind me hours of love it. There's somebody else too and I I'll tell you about it.

Yeah, well an actress. Oh, I thought you're maybe not a not a real life figure. Oh, oh, okay, all right Okay, all right. Well, you did you ever say you're rating 5.5.

Yeah, yeah, so that's that great. All right folks Excited to talk to everybody next week sure will be another riveting episode. No every Exciting to talk to you. Oh, yeah.

Yeah, you too, Josh should be should be fun man Bye mom. Thanks for listening. All right. We're out.

See ya peace
