All right, are you good? Yeah, I feel good. You do. I'm on a stool.

I'm higher than you. So it's like that power thing. Like in it, it's a wonderful life. Remember that show?

No, I actually do. Remember that when Jimmy Stewart goes to see Mr. Potter in Pottersville? Oh, yeah.

And he sits in that really low chair. Mr. Potter has all the power. Well, now I'm in a high chair.

Did they call it? You're in the low chair. Did they call it powder power? No.

OK. All right. You're stupid. No.

Mr. Potter. Well, now Mr. Potter.

All right. Well. Greatest movie of all time. Mm.

Pretty good. It's OK. Dude, it's so great. Yeah, it is good.

For Christmas time. I love it. He-haw. Remember what that you're saying?

No, I love you. I love you. Mr. Stewart.

I absolutely love him. What's the he-hawing thing about? Did they? Come on in again.

Did they show? He did it with his mother. No. It was like in the 70s when he-haw came on.

No. He-haw? Yeah. He-haw.

Uh, 50s. No. Different. Producer Billy.

OK. OK. Apparently we're way off course. OK.

So let's talk about JAG. Sure. Yeah. Well, welcome first, everyone.

We're going to talk about the past two weeks. Yeah. And we're going to talk about race interviews each and every episode of this spectacular TV phenomenon known as JAG. Hey, and we should talk about your cards.

What cards? The cards that you got to advertise our podcast. The business cards. Yes.

We're going to drop them all over DC. Yeah. We're listening to this. Carpet Bond DC.

We're all kind of advertisement. You need to help us folks. Yeah. We need help just to remember the word out.

That's all. Yeah. There are many people that have three is good. I mean, throw us a boat.

And leave comments. Yeah. If you don't like it, tell us why you don't. No, no, no, don't even bother.

If you do like a spell, I all means go to town. OK. Tell us all the good things that we do for you. And we'll keep doing it.

We will. We will. I mean, I will. I can't really.

No, I will. People listen to the show because of me. Let's get real. I am the humor.

I am the humor. Yeah. The funny one. The funny one.

Every week. All right. Every week. I'm not going to argue with you on me.

You should be. I want to talk about it. And you should be kind of okay. What's up?

General impressions. Make kicks ass again. Make us all the work again. Make saves the day.

Again. Time's the. Again. Again.

mega gets hurt again. I mean, emotionally not, you know, physically. But she doesn't do too bad a job. She does a great job, dude.

She's the one who books. I'm just tired of her whining all the time. I'm not. I'm not.

I think you're entitled to I really enjoyed this. I knew I could not get through this evening without some mention of that particular scene. Oh, it was a good scene. Oh my goodness.

Oh, look at that. Look at that. Look at that. Look at that.

Alright, so this show opens with an old school non-armored Humvee from Wade by the day. Why are they alone? They're on the border of Iraq during the Iraq invasion of Kuwait. No, no, this is past that.

I think this is a no-fly zone slash slash. He's already been kicked out of Kuwait, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. Okay, we still have two marine corporals on a border that's contested in a war zone alone in a Humvee or a war zone. They're trying to get to the Oasis.

That's all they're trying to do. Whatever that is, whatever that is. The Oasis. And so anyway, they're driving along here in northern Kuwait and Corporal David Anderson and his buddy Corporal John Edner are moving along and Anderson is played by Ron Livingston.

I saw this in your notes and I don't know who was he in office space. He was the lead character. The cute guy that married the girl. Well, I'm not going to comment on his looks but he was the main guy.

No, the handsome guy that married the girl. The handsome. Married the receptionist. Was it him?

I'm in office space. Not. Oh, I was thinking the office. Yes.

No, not the office. It's the movie that... No, it was funny. I'm a stapler.

No, a guy I work with has the red stapler. Yeah, well, it's not that. It is office space, which is the movie which kind of predated. No, I love it.

Yeah, office space was great but this didn't help me then because I don't really remember all that. Well, anyway, so that's who it is. You need to re-watch that movie, particularly since you still work. I love that you just ignore my comments and move on with the show.

No, I didn't ignore it. You're just like nobody cares there. You don't know who it is because everybody else in the free world knows who Ron Livingston is. Well, they should.

And if they watched office space, it would be... No, I watched it. I remember I didn't correlate the two. Oh, okay.

So a clear lack of correlation. You know, I can't handle producer Billy being like, you're stupid because everybody knows who he didn't say you're stupid. No, he didn't. He didn't.

That was interesting. You know what, just go. Just go. Take care of producer business.

So anyway, so they're driving along in their little humby and they're like, oh, we were supposed to reach our place five miles ago and we're still not reaching our place. Where is the oasis? Oasis. And so, and then they kind of look at each other and they're like, hey, is that cheap up ahead?

Is that friendly? Is that friendly? Is that how it does look friendly? And then they start shooting at them and Anderson, Corporal Anderson's Buddy, Edner gets killed and Anderson gets...

It's like a POW. It's not. No, not really. It wasn't a war.

It was over. But he was taken... But was it? Yes.

How do you know this? First of all, let me say that my TV had technical difficulties as I was watching the show. No, it really did. It really did.

We're having this really big problem with the TV. I hear the voices and then the scene comes on. Wait, you're hearing voices. No, no, it's not like that.

It's like a delay. Like I hear the voices and then the characters actually say it on the TV. It's a time delay. It's like a dubbing problem.

Anyway, at any rate, I didn't realize that this was after hostilities had happened. Yes. Well, it is. Well, I didn't.

I mean, what kind of what gives him a... No, so the war is over. So this guy, we have two Marines, two corporals. One is killed.

One is now taken. But you say he's not a prisoner of war because the war is over. Yeah, the war is over. Okay.

Yeah, take it from me. How do you know this though? Because they wouldn't have let an American legal team come in and do the trial proceedings. And if the war was still going on, they would have just taken him as a POW and he wouldn't have gotten any.

Right. Well, he still should have got a trial. He did get a trial. He didn't get a trial.

Well, even in the civil war. Yeah, but we're talking Iraq. Okay. Fine.

I'll let it go. I just don't think... Thank you. No, I don't...

No, no, no, no, no, no. I don't stipulate because it never really said where we were in the... What time? He never said a year.

Well, okay. All right. Let's just move on. Shall we?

Well, do you unequivocally know that this was after the Gulf War? Yes. Yes. Hostilities have ended.

Hostilities have ended. So there's a no-fly zone. No-fly zone. These Marines were perceived as being across the border, although that's arguable.

And then they are attacked, although that's arguing court that they were the ones that were the attackers. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Which we'll get to. Okay, fine.

I mean, I guess I stipulate because the rest of the episode wouldn't make any sense if they weren't at war. That's kind of what I'm trying to do. Fine. So then we shift immediately to DC, where we get another cameo appearance by apparently your favorite president, certainly not mine.

Well, it wasn't my favorite president, but you know, he's a fun guy. He's a fun guy. And I like to see that they insert clips of him. I think it tries to make the show a little bit relevant.

Well, a little bit more real, I agree. So he's there. He's watching the news about the incident. And we learn through the TV broadcast that Anderson is going to be charged by the Iraqis with espionage.

And that's Saddam and his generosity will allow American military lawyers to come in and defend. Corporal Anderson. So I have another question. I'm going to blame it on technical problems at the house, but I have another question for you.

This never looked like a Hey, Herman Rabb. We're going to let you take this guy. You're going to be his attorney. It never looked like that.

It always looked like Herman Rabb. Let us take it at this mini-seal school because we're going to break this guy out and we're going to rescue him and we're going to rescue you and what turns out to be Meg. Because court doesn't matter a damn in this case. Yeah, I think.

Is that how you perceived it? I think that's true because I don't think anyone on the Americans I thought that there would be a fair trial. So why would you send a lawyer in the first place? Well, because you got to go through the motions.

No, no, no, no. Yeah. But is it easier to train a lawyer to be a seal or a seal to play a lawyer role? I don't know.

But I do know that people like seals a lot more than they like lawyers. Nobody likes lawyers. Exactly. So I think they're going to play it every way they can.

They're going to say, you know, if there's some sort of chance this thing could actually work to our favorite, legally great, we're going to do the best we can. However, it's probably not. So we're going to have this contingency plan of going in and rescuing Corporal. Right.

So they basically read Harmon, Rob, into it. Read them and rescue. You're going to be a guy that's going to give the prisoner the transponder. And oh, by the way, Meg, who is your partner and your friend, is not to know anything about this.

Don't tell the woman anything. I don't think it had anything to do with her being a woman. At this point, there's a lot of woman man thing in this episode, which I'll agree to. I mean, a lot of feminists.

At this point, I think it bothered me that they didn't read her in because it was she's really taking her life into her own hands there, going over there and doing the mission. Well, it bothered. Not being told the whole truth. It bothered Brad to.

I mean, aren't. Not enough to tell her initially. Well, no, he kept it a secret. He brought it up to Commander Lindsey, our favorite Jag leader.

I hate Commander Lindsey. But anyway, he brought it up to him and he's like, hey, this is the way it's going to be. And so tough it out, man. Yeah.

And so what choice did he have? So he did. He did what he was supposed to do. He did.

But I think I put his partner at risk. Well, I think so. And I think he agreed. Yeah, but in the getting still, he followed what Lindsay said and he didn't read Megan.

He didn't read Megan. So Megan continues to study up and learn about all everything possible about Iraqi law and court proceedings and what that is. And Meg is hitting the books. Is she not?

I mean, she's really hitting the books trying to learn with Commander Lindsey's help trying to learn flesh, trying to learn about Iraqi law. And she's really going to town on these books and studying because that's what Meg does. And it's kind of like, where's harm in all this? Yeah.

You know, she's hitting the books, trying to study up so that she can have a successful case and potentially bring command or a corporal Anderson home. And where's harm? I don't know where harm is. But I think she begins to suspect that she's something else.

She doesn't know. And the next scene is harm running through a drill with Navy seals wherein he is the guy who is in a firefight as he's trying to break corporal Anderson out of an Iraqi prison in Basra. And I don't know, dude, I just didn't like it. And then harm comes in and lies to Meg while she's studying.

Brings our pizza to try to make peace. He did like, he didn't like. No, he sort of did. Because he's like, I'm learning an Iraqi protocol with forks and knives and how to eat properly and not defend people.

He was just following Commander Lindsey's lead. She's the one that threw that out there. Dude, it was not cool. So, well, you know, sometimes that's how it goes down in the military.

Why couldn't she know? I don't know. I think they were just trying to keep the odds of the operation being successful. Sometimes it depends on keeping the whole time.

She should have been read in the whole time. Yeah, well, she wasn't. So we press on. So harm ends up intending some sort of a brief or whatever.

Oh, oh. And then they find out that Anderson is being held at this amazing, amazing Iraqi prison near Basra, which is supposedly one of the most secure prisons in all of Iraq. Well, they have so many. But they have so many.

And this would happen to be. But we should say too that corporal Anderson is married and his wife is like wicked way pregnant with their first child, Mary. Yeah, you know, this is. I don't know.

I pulled in my heartstrings a little bit. I don't know. But she's like, oh, I've been stumbling around this building. Oh, that was good.

Why do you do the Margaret Patrick? That was last week. Because it was a real event. This was a needless scene.

No, I think it was trying to make it like, oh, I'm in such a terrible condition right now. I brought two letters. One from myself and one from Mary to Mary who's yet to be born. I'm just like, are you serious?

Why do you have to ruin this? It's not Margaret Thatcher that was last week. I know, but it's just it was pathetic and admittedly. Who let someone lose to just one?

No, I'm not going to go out to find an office. Honestly, the military is really great. If your husband or your wife is a prisoner of war, the military is going to take very good care of you. If you want to see the lawyers that are about to deploy to Iraq to defend your spouse in a court, you'll certainly be escorted through the JAG complex to the lawyers that you want to see.

And she acts like she was just, like you said, stumbling around the building until she suddenly found Megan Harms sharing a pizza. Yeah. Yeah, I agree. It was that was poorly.

It was kind of pathetic and we never see her again. But I think it draws us closer to Corber Landerson a little bit knowing that he's about to be a dad. He's a prisoner. I think just the fact that he's a prisoner is good enough for me.

Oh, well, aren't you just the heartless son of a gun? What do you mean? Heartless? Oh, life is pregnant.

Their first child, little Mary. The name will be not so popular. Was there something else about Mary in this episode? Mary.

Or was she proud? You think? No? Okay.

So anyway, we find out in the course of harm doing whatever it is harm was doing on the Special Ops world. He's given a transmitter to give to Anderson. He finds out. It is Gillette shaving kit.

Yes. Yes. Well, it is the best man to get. So what other kid would you?

Oh, yeah. He's perfect. But he finds out also that there's this agent secret agent known as Cimitar known over there. They don't know who he or she is.

And that's the problem is that they don't know. And so he's like, how am I supposed to get a message to Cimitar to help me out if I don't even know who Cimitar is? Right. Right.

So tell me who the Colonel is. Colonel. The Iraqi Colonel. Barzan.

Barzan. Yes. Yeah. Colonel Barzan.

But we don't meet him yet. Do we? Yeah. No.

We've already gone to Iraq. They've grown in. Yeah. With their whites.

They dress white in a desert. That's what they do. And they meet with the Barzan. And the first thing they do is they say, hey, Barzan, we would like to.

Can you meet your brother, Barzan? No. They did not say anything about his brother. They say, hey, we want to meet with our client Anderson.

And he's like that. No, you can't meet him. You cannot do that. No, you can't.

Why would you meet him? No. You cannot. Harm says it's non-negotiable.

Yes. He does say it's non-negotiable. And they kind of go at each other over this and sort of left it there. But old Barzan has a thing for Meg, doesn't he?

He does kind of have a thing. From the get go. He is really intrigued by Meg. Really loves her.

Even though he does drop kind of the Cimitar thing to harm. And Harmon thinks that maybe this guy is the Cimitar. Did you buy that? Did you buy that?

Of course not. I'm never fooled by these things in these episodes. No. No.

I never thought the Colonel was the Cimitar. No. I never once. Yes.

I never crossed my mind. Not once, right? Then he might be. You got me.

I thought it was. I thought he was the Cimitar. Not almost clues he was dropping. I'm like, he's the Cimitar.

He's the Cimitar. Going to him for help. Not the Cimitar. He is Cimitar.

Cimitar is another name for him. Anyway. But they also meet another lieutenant. I liked her.

Do my. Yes. I liked her. I liked her from the get go.

And this is where we kind of get into the cultural differences. Do them don'ts. Yeah. How can you take all this crap for all these dudes.

First of all, I've been a fan of Meg for a while. And I will say in this episode, in the one part Meg kind of upset me when the little Iraqi guy was bringing her bag to her and she's like, please put it on the band. And she was very nice, very pleasant. And he just dropped it.

Remember that part and he just dropped it on the floor. Yeah, but he might have had it early on set off the right. He didn't. And she said, she said, um, excuse me.

I maybe you don't understand English. But I was asking you to please put it on the floor. They're on the bed. And the Iraqi guy, clearly.

Did you just turn me up? No. believe me if I had a choice I'd turn it to never. Hoot.

Anyway, and she says no. Maybe you don't understand English, but I asked you to put it on the bed. So he tosses her stuff on the bed haphazardly. I don't know.

If I were Meg, I wouldn't have been a jackass. I would have been happy that the stuff that I even brought to Iraq actually made it to Iraq and was in my room. I wouldn't care where the Iraqi guy, Belhop, said it. Yeah, but she was just trying to make a point.

She was. That's all. She was just trying to stand up for her basically herself. And she was.

So it just leads further into the fact that, you know, there's a lot of cultural differences, if you will. And do my was like, what the heck you think you're doing? But this is how it is here in Iraq. And don't impose your Western ways of playing.

And do my was like, do you know how old America is? Do you know how old Iraq is? Yeah, they went through this whole. Compare the two street lessons.

And why do you want to make me? Why do you want to change me into what you are? I mean, come talk to me when your country is even a thousand years old because we're 3,000 years old in Iraq. So don't be telling me that I need equal rights.

Right. Don't tell me what's what. Yeah. So I liked her.

I liked her from the get-go. I liked her hair. I thought she was a beautiful hair. She had a hand on.

She was a pretty, no, she had a little berry. I was talking about that later. It was horribly formed for everybody. Oh, well.

So we go. Do you know how to properly form a berry? Well, please. Well, first you must be enlightened.

First you must take your berry from the plastic in which you receive it. You must carefully shave it with a big razor to get all the fuzz off. Does it have to be a big razor? Yes.

Okay. Okay. Great. I'm glad you're not arguing.

So I could order like a Harry's razor and achieve similar results. No. Or you better. No, no, no, no, no, no, big.

Big. Big. You dry shave the razor. Dry shave.

That sounds pretty painful. Well, it's painful if you're a person, but it's not if you're a berry. You dry shave it. Then you're going to love this.

Our viewers are listening to me. I'm like, wow, really? No kidding. Then so you take the you shave all the excess off.

So you're like, we're shaving off. Exactly. You're shaving the berry. So you get all this this fluff and fuzz and stuff that you don't need because you want really short.

What would it be? Detresses perhaps perhaps. Detresses. Well, it's not organic.

So no, it would not be nice. Dry. It's not that worked in last episode. It's not working this episode.

Oh, anyway, you shave the berry. Then you jump in the shower and you form the berry on your head. Wait, now do you have to be negative? No, you don't know.

No, no, no. Or can you jump in with your supposed to be fully close? You wear a scuba suit minus the head gear. You form the berry.

So you pull the right side of the berry down over your ear. Pull it. Pull it. It gets wet and it's just thick thickly wet.

Just stopping. Then you remove it from said head. You run it and then you set it on like a basketball or a soccer ball. So you give the berry.

So you give the berry head and then. No, no, no, I wouldn't phrase it that way. Because that gives me a different visual image. That's not what I was trying to do.

Well, you failed. You did. So your head is in the berry. Well, you form the berry on your head.

Then you take the berry off whilst it's still wet. Set it on a curved object, a soccer ball or a basketball perhaps. Now, what if you don't have a, I mean, what if you're not a sports enthusiast? How would you actually accomplish this?

Well, you need something that's around like a. Like another head. Person's head. Okay.

Like a female or a male head. Well, a male's head. One could be confused. Okay.

And you don't want to be confused. Hey, let's just use a female because I think that's a better example of a head. And then you get a soccer ball or a basketball for disability help me out. I think we used a soccer ball.

Thanks before. And then you take the berry. What's the diameter? I don't know Josh.

I'm just trying to tell everybody how you form a berry. Well, because there's kids soccer balls and there's adults. You use adult. Okay.

So you've got the berry formed. Just one ball or multiple balls. Why would you use multiple balls? I don't know.

I'm a man. You need two or more balls. You need one ball. Not a man's game.

You get hard. Do you want to hear how it's done or do you not? You don't care. No, I do.

I mean, I think everyone. I'm going to finish for our listeners. Okay. Go ahead.

Finish up the procedure. So once you once the berry is wet after you've shear it. Shorn. Right.

After you've done that, you put it on the ball, whichever ball you're using. And then you take side ball with berry on top and you put it in the freezer and you freeze it for you know, until it's frozen 24 hours, I suppose. 24 hours. Yeah.

So you freeze your berry on the ball. Just one ball. Yeah. And it comes out fully.

Well, it comes out and it's perfectly formed and then you put it on your head and you're like, oh, that's a little bit cold and it is for a bit. And then it warms up and it's perfectly formed your head. That's how it works. Now then so if you do it that way, that's the proper way to form a berry.

Now if you saw in this episode, everybody that had a berry, it was like they just pulled it out right out of the plastic and it's just a lot of some professional. Well, they aren't even part of America. Why would they do it our way? They're rakis.

They do it their way. Right. Yeah, they do. Come on, dude.

It's not so kind of. This was 1992-ish. They have freezers. Okay.

All right. So back to the episode. That was I can't even begin to describe how awesome of an explanation of berry. Good call on the coasters, sir.

These are really good. No, I mean it prolongs the life of your furniture. So we open up Meg and Dumei's in Meg's room and they go through the magazine as we just discussed. Meg tries to bond with Dumei.

You know, she tries to develop a rapport, doesn't work. Dumei's just like whatever and leaves. And then Meg goes to... No, no, no, no.

The next scene I think is interesting. Meg goes to see harm and finds a shirtless harm. And she sees him and she's like, hey, I'll come back. We talk about it.

She's like, hey, I'll come back. And he's like, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, please come on. Come on. Come on.

Come on. Let me grab you by the arm and pull you into my room. And not only come into my room, but why don't I take you to the bathroom and shower? Yes.

Let's go to the shower. To the shower then. And Meg's just like, all right? Let's do it.

Yeah. And so harm turns on the shower. And I thought some good stuff was to come, but I was a little disappointed as they turned out that harm was just turning on the shower to cover up the noise. And you know what?

Because he knew their room was bugged. And they start to talk strategy to and use the shower to cover up there. Wait, wait, wait. You're missing.

This is typical of your stupid ass notes because you leave out truly some of the most important things that keep us coming back to see more jag. And that is when Meg is she must see harm and she knocks on his door and he answers and he had shown up to Iraq and his summer whites, but he had taken off his shirt. So he has his little white pants on and his little belt and nothing else. And I don't know.

It was it was a nice scene. That's all you got. It was a great scene. Yeah, it's really good.

I mean, I mean, I think we could talk about it. We could continue on this broadcast. We could continue on this broadcast. No, I don't think we need to.

He was really good looking. I mean, he had the six pack. Yeah. Okay, great.

Are you okay? Yeah, I feel like it's suddenly warm in your basement and it's always so cool. Yeah, it's warmed up quite a bit. It's nice, isn't it?

So Meg goes to see the shirtless harm. They talk strategy and whatnot. And so we shift to the next scene where harm finds out, oh, all of a sudden Colonel Barzon has gotten him a visitor's pass for the prison. Well, Colonel, Barzon really is the chief of security.

I would hope that if anybody could get him a visitor's pass, the chief of security. That's what harm said. But Meg doesn't get a pass. And of course, Meg being Meg gets all kind of pissy and up in arms.

And she's giving my pass and she doesn't get it. I don't even understand. It's right there. And I know it's like, yeah, she gets this.

No, I don't like your stupid notes. I know. No, no, no, no. So, so harm goes to the prison passes the test on it.

Wait, but this is at which point Meg is like, what's going on here? What's going on here that I can't go to the prison to see our client? Because last time I checked, you and I were partners, brother. So what are you not telling me?

I don't think they really reached that point yet. I think Meg is just continuing to bring up her suspicion. I think Meg is that stupid. I think she senses that something's going on.

She's not a part of. I think she senses the whole time that something is off and she's not a part of it. But anyway, so harm does end up going to the prison. He meets Anderson and he presses off the transponder via a berry sneaky handshake.

Oh, slide of hand. And then he gives him letters from his wife and his to be daughter. But the Iraqi guard. Wait, you're just going to skip over that?

No, I'm not. I'm going to go right to the point where the Iraqi guards are like, tell us why you're here. Okay, you won't. All right.

I'm going to start this lighter and I'm going to burn up your letter. No, that's not the point. I hear you're going to talk about the letter from Mary. He had two letters.

One from his wife and then he had one from his unborn daughter, Mary, because every time he wrote home he used to write to his wife and his unborn daughter, Mary. Okay. How do you skip that? This is why your notes are crap compared to my notes.

Because I take these personal things, I take note of and you don't. You're just like, I don't care about the unborn child. I care about the child. Mary, I don't care that his wife is pregnant.

That's a lot of it. Can we get on with the court case? It's a lot of work. I mean, two letters.
