So the the fights that I really did watch was The round tree Andrews fight gaslum Israel a saunye and max Holloway and Dustin Boyer. Did you get to watch all the fights? Hey, yeah, man.
Talk about the places on the round tree. Yeah, I was at a gathering and they One of the guys there was saying oh Eric Andrews, man. He's so good He's he's about to put that what pass on he was a little drunk at the time But I was like, you know round tree just knocked out go kon saki in a stand-up match And I don't think round tree was considered a real stand-up guy I think he's got a decent ground game and everything so I was like this isn't gonna be an easy night for anybody that's standing across this guy And he did great. He was just beating up that inside leg.
Yeah Yeah, I mean hey Yeah, that's off to him because one of the toughest things they'll ever even practice much less getting into the ring and then having somebody Kick you over and over again. Yeah So I'm trying to see here. It says in round one it looks like he landed 15 leg kicks 100% of His leg kick so he didn't miss one where Anders through about two head kick or two Basically, he landed 15 strikes to the leg Round tree and then another seven to the leg and another 16 in round three Is that how the USC's stats and like the way they break down the rounds? It's not really good, but I was like I was wondering what the stats were For this fight and that's pretty ridiculous man.
Yeah, that's where over 40 freaking kicks landed This is probably the worst day of it. Yeah He took it bad man. He took it bad. So round tree did a great job.
It was pretty much a moi-tai clinic He did he did his thing and he's looking good. What weight class are they in right here? 205 man, you know, there's just nobody's ready. You know, it's like as good as these guys look, you know You can't go.
Oh, man, you know, he's on his he's he's good But you know John Jones is standing at the top of that and he still has These are the guys that they need to put that other guy against what's the big Brazilian dude that we're always talking about? He has like Johnny Walker Yeah, I'd love to see him against like round tree oven same crew or the guy that just beat ovens on Saturday, you know Those are the guys I think they need to give Johnny Walker to just to make sure Johnny Walker gets They need to really build because what are they doing that now they got the Israel to Sonya? They're making that like the next fight, you know, they're trying to build intrigue there because they don't really have anybody any Starpower in the 205 division that you know that casual viewers are interested in I think hardcore fans like ourselves, you know, we see people like Johnny Walker and the Devastator, I always forget that guy's name. It's like Daniel or something like that I feel bad for him because we always messing up his name, but that guy's really good.
He knocked out He knocked out oven say prove about maybe like two fights ago, but yeah, you know, who's gonna who's in the 205 division? That is going to really make a claim For their you know that that they can get that that win, you know, I mean that they can't get that belt that they can contend for it You know, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, so I'm not ready for Jones yet But he'll get this work when I am right. Yeah, the other guy I was talking about was Dominic Reyes Yeah, that guy is scary as far as coming up. I don't want to see him and Johnny Walker go up against each other yet But all the people that Dominic's beat.
I think I can know what's that Against Johnny Walker Against yeah, I mean that would be good too. I would like to see Johnny Walker fight like you know oven's maybe Roundtree and then maybe have Dominic go up against Anthony Smith or or around tree like, you know Like the prep those guys a little bit more because they are undefeated fighters So instead of putting him in there against somebody who just challenged the belt, you know, maybe just build him up a little bit Not by giving him easy fights But giving him challenges that if you can't get past this guy, you know Yeah, set back your dreams of that belt, you know another year or two I mean if you don't beat Oven's then you know Oven's he had a shot I thought I think Oven's is more like I think he has a lot of potential to do some but maybe his time has already passed You know, I mean, but but anyway bottom line round tree did an amazing job in that fight I think he made a statement in his last two fights Big time I really do I mean this one he in my opinion, he made it look pretty easy Yeah, you know the other guy didn't really, you know, do anything Yeah, his last fight. Oh Did he fight he fought Johnny Walker? He did fight Johnny Walker already It doesn't show like the winner lost but he must have lost because it was unless he you know what?
I think it's he ended up not fighting him. I think Johnny Walker ended up fighting somebody else on short notice Loss Against Walker Okay, the UFC website is really trash we need to just like destroy them with reviews so they can fix this fix it Hey, not only that man, but like the trouble I went through just to get the pay for you the other night Yeah, really the ESPN plus yeah, I could only buy it through you can only get it through the ESPN plus I couldn't get it The mind you couldn't get it through regular pay for view. No, and then like so I had to I had to get a I'm sure that it was just like this was just a user error on my part but they wanted me to buy the USC and then a year's subscription to ES ESV and plus there's 79 nine mass eight bucks, right and And so I was like never got in easier way and I had to get a free subscription of the Yes, we plus just order fight for the nine bucks Yeah, I saw that they were trying to do that like try to throw it in as a little package deal Yeah, so that brings us to the next fight Israel to Sonia and Kevin gaslum. I think I called it I thought Israel is gonna win basically the way he won by maintaining that distance and everything you know I thought Kevin could have won but he didn't really threaten the takedown as much as he should have and I don't understand why I know you said I didn't notice what you said you mentioned that it looked like he heard his foot like right around the first or Second right yeah, I noticed something happened and it seemed like one of the commentators were like Oh, but they didn't really expound on it.
They didn't really you know talk about it much, but yeah, that sucks I haven't You haven't heard anything like you haven't heard gaslum talk about it or anything yet, but no I don't think like you mentioned that for my years. Yeah, but Israel did a Good McGregor's trying to say that he had broken foot coming in his last life Oh With yeah that he had a broken foot coming in with could be yeah, I heard about that which I'm like shut up dude You got a broken Yeah, yeah that that that was gonna happen regardless now McGregor would have I don't see that by going any any different but Israel did a great job. I thought in the first round like he was doing too much bobbing and weaving In the sense like he I always say against a shorter opponent You shouldn't bob and weave you know, I mean yeah, you shouldn't bob and weave against a shorter opponent you shouldn't bob and weave You should be you know leaning back or slipping punches because once you go once you start lowering your head like that You're especially against a grappler. You're gonna you know put yourself in a bad a bad position to you know Either get taken down or need or anything You know I mean and in like about the second or third round he stopped doing that and he had a lot more success So I think his corner mentioned that to him I would imagine I would have been something I would have told him Like stop doing that, you know, you're the taller guy just maintain your range and you know Just keep out striking him and use your footwork.
Yeah for sure I mean be I was on you have so much make-aller that you could you can just use you know that kind of how John Jones used that Sit on yeah and circles Yeah, absolutely all night all night. Yeah, and I think eventually that's exactly what happened He just he didn't have and to Kevin's you know credit Kevin was doing a good job of Not allowing him to get that rhythm but once he started getting that rhythm That's and that's the whole thing, you know, you can't let someone like Israel, you know get that rhythm Yeah, it's gonna become really horrifying What's crazy is that you know that he's not there yet, but which to me is a good sign like he's he's humble. Yeah He knows like I'm not on the level of Anderson so the whole John Jones yet, but I can't you know, yeah You know, you know, there was other things about that, you know just the event itself like Israel came out and a Part of me, you know probably a week or two ago I was like Israel's gonna win and then a couple days ago I was like man. I don't know Kevin could win it and then they're coming out and Israel did it Am I wrong or did he time his entrance into the cage so that he could like Like to the music he stands there and he like stops on the ground and raises his hands like to the music I swear I like right yeah I was like did he just timed that like perfectly and I bring that up just to be like and this guy is Having a good time.
You know, I mean he's he's out there to fight, but he's having a good time like this dude is relaxed he is You know, I don't know it. There's that's how it felt when I saw him going in there and I was like man That's a good sign, but it also it's like don't be too relaxed and then Kevin comes out And of course, you know, it's hard to not root for him when he comes out and it's like a gentle music and you hear that You know, I mean like you hear that music and he comes out running and I'm like damn He's he's ready, you know, you could tell Kevin's ready But there was something about his like his rhythm and his game plan that just fell off to me like he just didn't I Don't know if he just couldn't find his rhythm and range. I mean obviously that was one of the things but I just found it Ah that he didn't do more with challenging the takedowns, you know, like challenging his like challenge Israel's ground game challenge You know his defense against it. I don't think he did really and I remember I think it was post fight or or During they were like, oh, yeah, you know Kevin got that one take down I wonder if he even got one takedown because I know at one point they went to the ground well because Israel was Had a guillotine on him.
Yeah, so I think he might have gotten one take down and the other takedown It wasn't really I think Israel took him down with the guillotine and then ended up putting him in a triangle And that was around that I scored for Israel. I did have them two and two going into the fifth That's how I had them scored. Yeah Yeah, I thought he had I did think that the fifth round was gonna be pretty like Yeah, like with the two and two it was like if the fifth round was close and It went like any of the other rounds it would have probably lean towards Israel but in the fifth round he just I think the fifth round was the guillotine attempt the triangle attempt and He finished him in that round like I text you I was like, yo man. What a late stoppage Yeah, it was so late that stoppage went to a decision.
You know, I mean like yeah, it should they could have stopped that fight easily I thought yeah, you know, buddy of mine was talking about that. You know, I'm always on the side of fighter lunch I don't want to see him have damage. Yeah, you know, but a lot of times I mean like I love you all the thing Yeah, you know like that was it even and You know what what gasoline would go up in the last second just landed that knock out You know what I'm saying like so but it to me It's like with the Robbie Lawler thing that was you know, I mean just because you use that like specific example A good and not not to be like argument a bit like a better example would be like Pat Barry versus Cacango Yeah, that Cacango was really hurt But at the same time even the Cacango it was like Cacango was on roller skates and moving around but still getting hit and then out of nowhere He just sleeps Pat Barry. Yeah, but in this one and you know with a Robbie Lawler Robbie Lawler was In risk of you know falling asleep and you know, I don't I think it was a bad stoppage But I understand it wasn't like oh her being made a shitty shitty decision.
He made a decision based on angle I can't I can't speak on what he was seeing I could only speak on the two or three camera angles I saw so I you know in a way you would say, you know, if you have a couple different angles You have a better vantage right and I'm speaking after the fact but with this one when Israel had hit him in the fifth and then you know Pounced on him and dropped a nasty elbow that landed almost flush on the temple. You know, I mean like it was bad It was hard, you know, I mean this dude is a what is this 185 pounds and an elbow landing sharply on your you know free Contemple they could have stopped it there, but then it continued and continued and I just felt like it felt like forever For that fight to finish once he landed that elbow on the ground. I was just like, oh man He needs to stop like I just felt like Kevin was taking a lot of hard hits to the head I wouldn't have been mad. I mean it's it's sugar.
I think it probably shouldn't stop Yeah, I mean just the just the fact that you know, he probably knows his fighters So I mean, but I don't know if he's gonna know anybody back well, so let me just like he elbows Yeah, I mean I I you know, I was drinking a little bit I wasn't drinking that much that that evening but I remember watching it and thinking man They should have stopped this and his corner could have thrown the towel in and then I thought in the back of my head Like well, maybe they were like look there's like a minute left But you know a minute to wear Like a minute of head trauma is real long minute Yeah, that is unincredibly long time to wait to stop a fight or to throw in a towel and you know I just I just remember thinking like damn man because it's one of those things like yo He loses this fight and it was a great fight, you know This ain't the end of his career, but you let him take another minute and a half of a beating You know, it could change the trajectory of his career forever, you know, yeah, so I don't know But it was a great fight man. Israel a great you went through a war he defended takedowns He showed some submission skills in deep water and in the fifth round in the championship rounds. He really turned it up Yeah, he went harder I thought he put he put the you know, he picked up the pace and put more pressure on him So I think he did a great job and he might just hold that belt for a while man 17 and oh Yeah Well, he's got Whitaker. He's got people like Jacques out a you know, he's he's got some oh, you're well Romero's still lurking around Yeah, that's that's pretty scary and it's like yeah, he has better striking than Jacques out it.
He's got better striking than you well But those guys are veterans that know how to get to you man, and they're not little guys, you know, he's how we're over gas Them that's look a lot smaller than him. Yeah. Yeah as far as reach is concerned I called the round tree fight. I thought round tree was gonna win it I thought Kevin gas was gonna win it and I told everybody I swear to goodness.
I told everybody You know, I have a feeling that Dustin is gonna win this fight and I thought he did Fantastic I Gave him four rounds to one and then I looked at the scorecards of the judges and they gave him all three judges gave him four rounds to one Yeah, I got crazy Actually pay attention to that part I don't think I think he jabbed yeah, he jabbed Max to the body and then he came up and just came a little shy of like a hook with the same hand and then he ended it with that Shinkit to Max's side I think he looked great, you know I was watching it with some people and then at the end of the fight they go so who do you think is gonna get the decision? I'm like are you out of your mind? Fight are you watching I was like if they don't give it to Dustin. This is gonna be a robbery I I thought he won four rounds there there there may I think there was an argument for three rounds to two But with that said I going into the fifth I thought he could lose the fifth and it wouldn't have mattered You know, he had he would have had to lose like ten eight he rocked Matt Max like six times four times minimum in that fight Yeah, he rocked him He hurt him four times minimum, but I swear it was like six times and Max was throwing that punching volume and doing that but I promise you man If we go and watch those four round those five rounds again every time Max was moving forward and throwing those punches He looked great and some of them did land.
I think he rocked Dustin like once where it was like a really good where I was like, oh shit He could take it right here, but if we play that back I think a lot of people you know, either will be surprised or finally noticed that I don't think a lot of those punches were landing like Either at all mostly landing on his arms or just not even that flush like I felt like Dustin was just doing a great job of defense Staying in front of him and saying let's box. Let's do it and had an immense amount of risk You know not respect but um, you know confidence in his in his own ability Yeah, I mean he definitely came out from a Gregor era of iron. Yeah, and McGregor and his big mouth and his you know abilities I think Austin to come out the other end like Which shows you know, yeah, well I had said to you know Max really didn't have much to lose in this fight You know, he loses this fight and he goes back to 145 a champion who has cleared out his division So it didn't even really matter, you know in a way, you know, I'm saying this was just gonna add to his legacy not cement it You know, I mean Dustin he had Said you know this this fight is a culmination of his career He knows that this was the moment he Been fighting for you know now he has the belt now He could unify it with with could be but he's done what you know, he's always set out to do and you know I think you know people might be surprised what he's gonna be able to do against a beep, you know I can't count him out. He's not a little guy, you know, and his boxing's great and he's a black belt in jujitsu Yeah, so I don't think I don't think he's You know, I don't think he's gonna go in there.
I think he's kind of like raging out You know, I mean I think he could put on that kind of performance, you know raging out did that on what was it like two weeks notice? Yeah, and imagine if you had a full camp, you know I think I mean he defended a lot of the takedowns He made it a stand-up game and his stand-up was better, you know, I mean But it was it was kind of short notes and I mean it was against a beep I mean could beep showed a lot there, too, you know, he showed him like yeah, you know I'll be able to stand and hang with you and then I'll get my hands on you eventually He's not gonna go out, you know easy, but I think you know Dustin Dustin might be a bigger problem in that regard Yeah, so the combos and everything show the other night. Yeah Interim belt or not, he's here's I say he's so the number two guy, you know, we had number one guy and there's a chance Yeah, yeah, absolutely I mean and he did it against a champion who you know even in the you know even though I think a max loss like four rounds It wasn't like it was more like I think Dustin and you know when Max was coming forward Max did some really nice I'm watching the highlights here and Max did some really nice things But I think no matter what Max did Dustin OA's landed the like devastating counters and the harder counters And he had max in trouble more throughout the fight like I said He rocked him at least four times at least and that was in the first like three rounds You know even in a I think it was like round one and two and then maybe four and then in the the fifth round He just you know turned it up more. It was just a good fight and I thought he You know just one more of the exchanges landed, you know busted him up Yeah, and the fifth round is when he made him like really start bleeding if I'm not mistaken It was a fifth or fourth.
It was just a good fight man And I think Dustin is underrated, but not anymore Right, right? We both love Max Holloway, but like one of my friends Who is like for the longest time has been a huge Justin point again I thought that's him just roll through kind of a great right yeah, but you like man I don't know who I want to live in I like he was like that's always he said I think he's the best fighter I've ever seen because I love that's you know He's like so I hope the justice is up, but I mean just with these two guys and they showed why he didn't you know That's how we went up to the decimal like hey, man anytime you know why he's in line was training out You know well that was at the end of the fight Yeah, and then I was like you like a good best that's crazy. That's awesome. That's awesome That's why I love Max Holloway.
I love anybody that is willing to train with the person who beat him because that's what training is That's literally what it's all about. You don't train with a bunch of people you can whoop on you outgrow gyms when you're the best in there After that if you become the best in your gym Then you have to stay there and teach and and and help your your team grow and help your Tim Jim grow but you have to always branch out to find somebody that whoop your ass you have to You know if you're preparing for a fight you need to be in there with people that make you uncomfortable If you don't feel uncomfortable, it's not because you're the best in the world. You're not I mean just imagine Okay, and velocity is yeah, okay velocity is it? Aspirin's not a part of that crew is he is with Rufus that's right and Tyrone Woodley and them every now and then yeah, yeah, yeah, that's a scary bunch of folks man There's a lot of good guys out there.
I don't think aspirin. I don't think aspirin does I don't think he does that well in the UFC. Yeah, I mean his performances Yeah, I think they could easily stop that fight That's 170 yeah, that was the same night that Usman took a belt from Woodley. Yeah, so They already announced it.

He was supposed to fight somebody else and The guy pulled out or something and I hate that I don't have that info But back to up-and-coming events after that is Donald Saron versus ally Aikinta and then we got Nama Eunice and Andrade Yeah, for a title fight that one's gonna be tricky man. I think Nama Eunice has all the tools of you know retain her belt in that fight Let me see. Are there any good? No, no after that is gonna be another interesting fight That's the dosagnos Kevin Lee fight that's gonna be interesting because both of those guys need to win this fight They can't be losing anymore Gustafson and Smith in June and Sejuro defense is belt against Morayes.
This will be his second title defense They don't have anything Let me see do they have much listed after that. Yeah, then you have Woodley and Lawler and John Jones versus Santos Who are on those under cars? Yeah, that could be dangerous for Woodley because if he thinks that it's gonna be the same thing as last time I don't think anybody thought it was gonna be like that You know I mean like a quick knock out like that in a way I don't see that happening and after Lawler. I really think Lawler.
I think they could have stopped that Asking fight when Lawler dumped in on his head and started beating the piss out of him and then you know He you know asking got a good call. He got a good call. Oh, so check out this card. Geez So pretty good card.

I called Jorge against The last guy he just knocked out The British guy What's up, huh? Huh? Yeah, he knocked out Darren too. Yeah, and I call that the next fight after that is gonna be Michael Chiesa versus Diego Sanchez.
That should be a good fight We got Jack marshman versus Adam Shabazian Sebastian Whatever Luke Rockhold versus Jen book book hole which I'm not good with names junior dos Santos versus Francis and Gano This is gonna be yeah the top three fights junior and Francis. That's gonna be a knockout And I'm I think Francis wins it I would love to see junior go in there throw like a good one two and just dip on him dump him on his back and show somebody I mean, how are you gonna be you know in Brazil all your life and not know how to choke people out choked us dude out Finish him with some jiu-jitsu show somebody something different and what do you got next as the Komein event Amanda Nunez versus Holly home? I'm excited for that fight. I don't think it's gonna be as easy for Amanda in this fight But we'll see man.

I mean she's brutal what she did to I mean I hate it because even Amanda said that she said I'm not gonna fight her again I don't know why she wouldn't fight cyborg again. I think it's horrible that they do cyborg like this I'm not saying she needed immediate rematch, but cyborg definitely should get a rematch after all the work she's put in in a You know just MMA Plus I would like to see what if I was Amanda. I would be like what yeah if you want to get knocked out twice Let's do it.

Let's do it These people need to know how to save their money So you're not so worried about losing going there and just be like oh man, I'm gonna get paid Let's fight and then you got John Jones and Tiago Santos. It just doesn't oh he did KO Jan metal. I don't know. It's me I'm reading him wrong dude, but you don't wait you're not wrong Yeah, so yeah just to clarify because I did I did make a huge mistake. He knocked out Anthony Smith Smith got knocked out by Santos wins a decision over Holland knocks out Anders and then he wins by knockout in 44 seconds or is that left 44 seconds in round two against Minawa and he knocks out Jan and round three so you know his he's had some good notable wins and everything So his last loss was against David branch So I mean, it's iffy.
I don't know what is I don't know what his ground games like or anything like that But hopefully it I don't know I just want to see somebody really going there and have a legit chance to beat John Jones, you know, and I'm interested in Let's see this guy I keep forgetting his name and I just said his name to why is he so forgettable? Hreya's Dominic Reyes. Yeah, that guy's he's undefeated. He's got mad skills and Johnny Walker.
I'm just interested in that dude. I mean that dude so big so explosive so powerful and he's just beating everybody that stands in front of Them, you know easily, you know, it's easy to say yeah, but they're he's beating these nobodies first of all every person That is in that cage is a somebody that is scary and is skilled and they're standing across another scary skilled person and that guy's doing it Relatively easily it's different if he went in there and beat all those guys by decision. He's beating these guys fast You know quickly and that's what's scary about him. He's he's making it look like easy work like he's leaving He's fought three or four times in the UFC.
He's pretty much uninjured the last time he got injured in a fight was during his celebration You know, I mean like it's it's crazy the dudes like super athletic big and explosive. It's pretty scary But anyway, anyway, nate. Um, what's that? Like yeah, he seems like he does he's a likable guy.
He seems absolutely marketable. I think he speaks a pretty good English Um, I forgot what belt he is. I think he's like a purple or brown belt. Yeah, he's a purple belt.
