UFC Fight Night Recap and UFC 313 Preview, Tank Davis Takes a Knee, UFC and Saudis Sign Boxing Deal
from Fight Talk Unlimited · host Fight Talk Unlimited
This week we start with the Tank Davis versus Lamont Roach fight that led to a major controversy over Tank taking a knee late in the fight without a knockdown being ruled for Roach. The fight ended in a majority draw which would have been called a win for Roach if the knee had been ruled as a knockdown. We also discuss the recent deal between the UFC and Turki Al-Sheikh and Saudi Arabia's "Public Investment Fund" to initate a new boxing league. Rich also gets into some detail about his hopes that this new deal does not turn out like other acquisition deals the UFC has been involved in before. He also highlights some recent episodes of "The Dark Side of the Cage" on VICE TV, including the two episodes airing recently that recapped the deal that destroyed PRIDE fighting years ago. We go over some other recent news in combat sports and then dive into the recap of last week's UFC Fight Night where Rich picked up $108.47 on a $5 parlay anchored by Hyder Amil's compelling performance in his fight with William Gomis. Rich also calls for Julian Marquez to retire after his 4th straight knockout loss. Finally, we preview UFC 313 with a main event of Alex Pereira taking on Magomed Ankalaev at Light Heavyweight.
