UFO Therapy: Erik Schlimmer on counseling experiencers and his search for General Neil McCasland

On this episode, I sit down with experiencer, therapist, wilderness guide, and adventurer Erik Schlimmer to discuss his work counseling witnesses of the phenomenon and helping them to process and contextualize their encounters.Schlimmer has had his own brushes with the extraordinary, which he describes in this interview. He also relates how the social stigma around UFOs has played out in his psychological work, and how it hinders treatment for folks who need help.Schlimmer also describes the time he spent in the New Mexico wilderness in search of missing Air Force General Neil McCasland. Schlimmer offers his own theory of what happened to McCasland, a conclusion based on his years working in mental health and wilderness survival.Finally, we explore Schlimmer’s research into the UFO flaps of 1977, a year that Schlimmer says was one of the most active in history.
